CLOVER - Mrs. Eva Irene Morris Funderburk, 76, of 201 Bonum Road died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gas-tonia, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, with Lewis Gunn and the Revs. Ernest Cogdell and Ralph Dell officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of Kings Mountain, N.C., Mrs. Funderburk was a daughter of the late John Morris and Katie Morris. She was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a past post commander of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was the widow of Woodrow Jackson Funderburk and Hilliard Cleophus Greene.

Surviving are two sons, Wayne Jackson and Jack Harley, both of Gastonia; two daughters, Ann Messer and Elvie Johnson, both of Gastonia; her brother, Ray Wellman of Gastonia; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at M.L. Ford Sons Funeral Home.

Mae Gellert

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mae Bratton Gellert, 95, of 127 Murrah Drive, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Magnolia Manor.

A private service will be held.

Mrs. Gellert was a homemaker and the widow of Louis Gellert.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Alice Norsworthy

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Alice Rape Norsworthy, 82, of 39 Poplar St. died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, with the Revs. Mike Sollars, Henry Lain, Ray Elder and Steve Stone officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Norsworthy was a daughter of the late James Rape and Melisa Baker Rape. She was a homemaker and the widow of Charles Fleetwood Norsworthy.

Surviving are two sons, J. Edward Norsworthy and Billy Ray Norsworthy, both of Great Falls; three daughters, Alice Faye Munn Wright of Denver, N.C., and Bleeka Ann McDonald and Nancy Jean Gerald, both of Winnsboro; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home and at other times at 320 Nickey Road, Great Falls.

Fithyou Smith

LANCASTER - Mr. Fithyou Kirk Smith, 79, of Stevens Hill Road died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Monroe Rehabilitation Center in Monroe, N.C.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Revs. Tony Medlin and Charles Bradley officiating.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Smith was retired from Springs Industries and attended Lancaster County schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Smith and Stanley Smith, both of Great Falls; two stepsons, Ralph Johnson of Lancaster and Gene Johnson of Greenville; his stepdaughter, Diane Mackey of Lancaster; his sister, Wilma Sanders of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

James Stradford

LANCASTER - Mr. James M. "Tiny" Stradford, 87, of 7207 Van Wyck Road died Monday, April 10, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at White Oak AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Stradford was a son of the late Arthur and Josephine Stradford. He was the widower of Mary Steele Stradford. He was retired from Ashe Brick Co.

Surviving are four sons, Ulysses Dunlap of Catawba, James T. Stradford and Wilbert Stradford, both of Van Wyck, and Michael Stradford of Korea; eight daughters, Betty Crawford and Gladys Stradford, both of Van Wyck, Loretta Davis and Elizabeth Chisom, both of Charlotte, Hattie Frazier of Alexandria, Va., Barbara Frazier and Doris Truesdale, both of Lancaster, and Judy Ragland of Clinton, Md.

Crawford Funeral Home is in charge.

Albert Harris

NEWARK, N.J. - Mr. Albert Harris, formerly of Rock Hill, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Arthur Howell officiating and the Revs. Silas Randolph, Dr. Marion Wilson and Dr. Marion Crawford assisting. Burial will be at White Hill AME Zion Church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Harris was the son of the late Joseph Harris and Eliza Nash Harris. He attended St. Luke AME Methodist Church in Newark. He did landscaping and construction work and attended York County public schools. He was the widower of Lottie Bell Crome Harris.

Surviving are two sons, James Ivory Harris and Albert Harris Jr., both of Newark; two daughters, Dorothy Louise Johnson and Grace Myles, both of Newark; three sisters, Connie Young of Washington, D.C., and Maggie Lee Harris and Juanita Burns, both of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild

The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Arnold Harris

ROCK HILL - Mr. Arnold Franklin "Bro" Harris, 59, of 1213 Auburndale Lane died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Arthur Randolph officiating and the Revs. J.E. Boulware, Roderick Pendleton and Ronald Bloom assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Harris was the son of Sarah Mildred Jackson and the late York Harris. He was a 1959 graduate of Emmett Scott High School. He attended St. Matthew AME Zion Church as a child, before becoming a member of Emmanual Baptist Church in Elmont, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a bus operator with the New York City Transit Authority for 20 years. He also was a member of the Rock Hill Scottites.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Beatrice, his daughter, Denise Mannigault of New York; his son, Michael Mannigault of New York; seven sisters, Shirley Harris Jackson, Mary Ola Johnson and Zee Harris, all of Baltimore, Priscilla Harris of Chadwick, Md., Servilla Harris of Detroit; Linda Harris Jennings of Rock Hill, and Joanne Blake of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three brothers, Samuel Harris of New York, William Carter Harris of Rock Hill and Lavern Bernard Harris of Seneca; and three grandchildren.

The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Esau Jeter Sr.

YORK - Mr. Esau "Bone" Jeter Sr., 57, of 111 Hickory Lane died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Lowrys, with the Rev. Bobby Featherstone officiating and the Revs. John McCoy and Ronnie Tims assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Spartanburg County, Mr. Jeter was a son of the late Woodrow Jeter and Janie B. Cunningham Jeter. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and was a former member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Chester. He was a 1961 graduate of Finley High School. He was a former textile worker.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie P. Feaster Jeter; seven sons, Ricky Jeter, Christopher Jeter and Ashley Jeter, all of York, Esau Jeter Jr. of Gastonia, N.C., Gary Jeter of Charlotte and Sharrod Jeter and Parrish Jeter, both of the home; six daughters, Teria Hefney and Debra Jeter, both of Rock Hill, Cheryl Jeter of York, and Kirsten Jeter, Kayla Jeter and Keyota Jeter, all of the home; six brothers, James E. Jeter of York and Lawrence Jeter, Obelee McClinton, Ernest Sanders and Robert McClinton, all of Chester, and John Wesley Hood of Seattle; two sisters, Deloris Worthy and Dorothy Feaster, both of Chester; and 13 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Evanglee Allen

BALTIMORE - Ms. Evanglee "Dan-ne" Allen, 95, of Baltimore, formerly of Fort Lawn, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Pikesville Convalescent and Nursing Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Union Ezell AME Zion Church in Fort Lawn, with the Rev. William Long officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Ms. Allen was a daughter of the late Moses Allen and Amy Ingram Allen. She was a member of Union Ezell AME Zion Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret Cloud of Baltimore; her sister, Mary L. Page of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Union Ezell AME Zion Church.

The body may be viewed from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Doris Combs

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Doris Dean Combs, 66, of 46 Holly St. died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Fairfield Health Care in Ridgeway.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, with the Revs. Charles Bradley and James Stevens officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

A native of Ashe County, N.C., Mrs. Combs was a daughter of the late Harvey Alexander Combs and Holly Beatrice Faw Combs. She was a retired waitress and store clerk. She attended the Ashe County schools.

Surviving are her husband, Howard W. Combs; her daughter, Lenna Wooldridge of Great Falls; her brother, Loy Combs of Baltimore; four grandchildren; and her great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

CHESTER - Mr. David Hillard Johnson, 50, of 200 York St. Apt. C-1 died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. W.G. Boulware officiating and the Revs. William A. Chisholm, Paul Long and Pastor Alonzo Gregory assisting. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Johnson was a son of Fannie Mae Graham Johnson of Chester and the late Edward Johnson Sr. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was a 1968 graduate of Finley High School. He was a former employee of Springs Industries. He was the maintenance man at Chester Homes apartments.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Yvonne Mack Johnson; his son, Tryone Johnson of California; his daughter, Tonya Woodard of Charlotte; two brothers, Edward Johnson Jr. and Charlie J. Johnson, both of Chester; four sisters, Edna Mae Mapps and Brenda Johnson, both of Chester, Gloria Johnson and Vivian Johnson, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Boyce Kimbrell

LITTLE RIVER - Mr. James Boyce Kimbrell, 72, formerly of Fort Mill, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Myrtle Beach Manor in Myrtle Beach.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Flint Hill Baptist Church in Fort Mill, with the Revs. Jimmy Miller and Dan Griffin officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Pineville, N.C., Mr. Kimbrell was a son of the late Samuel B. Kimbrell and Lillie Moore Kimbrell.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary Plattenburger of Fort Mill and Emily Privette of Cherry Grove.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9. tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill.

Ruth Lowry

YORK - Mrs. Ruth Christina Bowen Lowry, 68, of 318 W. Madison St. died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. Osbey Roddey officiating and the Rev. A.J. Johnson delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Lowry was a daughter of the late Clarence Bowen Sr. and Ella Davidson Bowen. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, the Deaconess Board, in the Pastor's Aide Club, Missionary Society, Kitchen Committee and in the Sunday school. She was employed with Sunstates Maintenance Corp., Duke Power Co., Catawba.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Lowry Sr.; two sons, Robert Lowry Jr. of New York and Richard Lowry of York; three sisters, Peninnah B. Lowry, Reola B. Wright and Correan Bowen, all of York; three brothers, James M. Bowen of York, Thomas J. Bowen of Ruby and William E. Bowen of Pageland; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.
