Harry Tinsley Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Harry Lee Tinsley Jr., 83, of 1816 Sharonwood Lane died Monday, April 17, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Drs. Shelton P. Sanford III and William A. Fox Jr. officiating.

A native of Bluefield, W.Va., Mr. Tinsley was a son of the late Harry L. Tinsley Sr. and Ethel W. McNeal Tinsley. He was the widower of Elizabeth Chiles Tinsley.

Mr. Tinsley was retired from Celanese Corp. after 42 years service. He was a charter member and Elder Emeritus of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He served with the Prison Ministry and in various other capacities. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three sons, Harry L. Tinsley III of Columbia, Drenner McNeal Tinsley and Leslie Chiles Tinsley, both of Rock Hill; his daughter, Karen Elizabeth Helms of Charlotte; and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home and at Westminster Presbyterian Church parlor after the memorial service.

Joecephus Smith

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mr. Joecephus Smith of 3624 Holts Chapel Road, formerly of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Wesley Long Hospital.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Greensboro. Burial will be in Greensboro.

Mr. Smith was a son of the late Joecephus Smith and Mary Q. Smith. He attended elementary and high school in Rock Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Smith; his son Donnell J. Smith; two daughters, Donna Smith and Diane Smith, both of Greensboro; two brothers, Williams Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Elliot Smith of Rock Hill; two sisters, Lucile Young and Gelola Smith, both of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

Woodard Funeral Home, 3200 N. Old Henry Blvd., Greensboro, is in charge.

Claudia Miniati

KERSHAW - Mrs. Claudia Sternissa Miniati, 80, of 7828 Flat Creek Road died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at home.

A memorial service will be 5 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Born in Trieste, Italy, Mrs. Miniati was a daughter of the late Mario Sternissa and Carla Picco Sternissa. She was a homemaker.

She was the widow of Vinicio Miniati.

Surviving are her daughter, Emanuela Jewett of Kershaw; her sister, Armida Matelik of Trieste; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Geneva Williams

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Geneva Moore Williams, 82, of 1120 Woodland Drive died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Neely's Creek ARP Church, with the Revs. Bill Fleming and Paul M. Kinnett officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Whitmire, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late John B. Moore and Dovie Stone Moore. She was the widow of C. Harris Williams, former owner of Williams Gulf Station. A homemaker, she was a lifelong member of Neely's Creek ARP Church, where she formerly taught the Mary Caldwell Sunday school class.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra W. Webster and Betty Joyce Williams, both of the home; her brother, J.B. Moore of Melbourne, Fla.; her sister, Mildred Knight of Mill Springs, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, and at other times at the home.

Samuel Crenshaw

LANCASTER - Mr. Samuel A. Crenshaw, 60, of 3971 Major Evans Road died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Oak Ridge ARP Church, with the Rev. Peter Wing officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Charlotte, Mr. Crenshaw was a son of the late Pervis Crenshaw and Maude Wainwright Crenshaw. He was a member of Oak Ridge ARP Church and was the owner/operator of the Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle Shop. He was president of the Cedar Creek Hunting Club and operated Crappie Busters, a fishing guide service.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Henderson Crenshaw; his son, Mark Crenshaw of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Brooke Crenshaw of the home and Robin Crenshaw of Myrtle Beach; his foster mother, Mazie Bailey of Lancaster; and two brothers, Doug Crenshaw of Lancaster and Joe Crenshaw of Charlotte.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Oak Ridge ARP Church building fund, 2588 McIlwain Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Louise Johnson

LANCASTER - Mrs. Louise Dover Johnson, 78, of 1356 Carousel Lane died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jessie Adams officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Clover, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Ervin James and Lela Ramsey Dover. She was the widow of R.L. Johnson. A homemaker, she was a member of Union Baptist Church where she was active with the senior citizens and with the Minni McManus Circle.

Surviving are her son, Cecil J. Johnson of Lancaster; four daughters, Patricia Baker of Gastonia, N.C., Jean Strunck of Charleston and Linda Powers and Debbie Horne, both of Lancaster; two brothers, Walter Dover of Clover and Darvin Dover of Rock Hill; three sisters, Vera Wyatt, Jessie Mae Bolin and Georgia Carnes, all of Clover; 12 grandchildren; and

13 great-grandchildren.

Mahaffey Funeral Home is in charge.

William Spencer

LANCASTER - Mr. William "Bill" Perry Spencer, 74, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Needham Williamson officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Spencer was a son of the late Benjamin Perry Spencer and Hattie Mae Huey Spencer. He was retired from Springs Iron Foundry. He was a Mason with the Hart Masonic Lodge No. 380 and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his son, Gregory Phillip "Pete" Spencer of Lancaster; his daughter, Beth Lovelace of Myrtle Beach; his brother, Bennie Spencer; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1142, Lancaster, SC 29721.

Alberta Boyd

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Alberta Harvey Boyd, 86, of 11115 S. Tryon St. died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Lakeview Living Center in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Clover, with the Revs. Paul Hutchison and Bob Jack officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Church cemetery in Charlotte.

A native of York County, Mrs. Boyd was a daughter of the late Clarence Alexander Harvey and Addie Dale Harvey. She was the widow of William M. Boyd Jr. Mrs. Boyd was retired as a librarian from the Pineville branch of the Mecklenburg County Public Library system. She was a charter member of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Women's Club and was a commissioner of the USS North Carolina Battleship. She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church in Clover.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Curry of Charlotte; two sons, Bill Boyd and John Boyd, both of Charlotte; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

Rebecca Riemenschneider

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Rebecca Diane Smith Riemenschneider, 48, of 2314 Worthy Boys Camp Road died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Lester Dempster officiating.

A native of Gadsden, Ala., Mrs. Riemenschneider was a daughter of Dorothy Perdue of Cartersville, Ga. Mrs. Riemenschneider was employed with Sally Beauty Supply as a manager of the South Boulevard store in Charlotte.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, David A. Riemenschneider; two daughters, Elisha DeAnne Francis of Monroe, N.C., and Khristel Lyn Davis of Rock Hill; two brothers, Charles W. Shields and Ronald "Keith" Shields, both of Cartersville; her sister, Teresa Kay Snider of Winter Garden, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Claude Sullivan

KERSHAW - Mr. Claude Thomas Sullivan, 73, of 309 E. Hilton St. died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Archie Neal officiating. Burial will be at the Kershaw city cemetery.

A native of Bethune, Mr. Sullivan was a son of the late Thomas Sullivan and Harriett Horton Sullivan. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, where he served on the board of deacons and was a member of the men's Bible class. He was retired from Springs Industries.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Ogburn Sullivan; his son, Jeff Sullivan of Kershaw; his daughter, Claudia Puopolo of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Rev. John O. Sullivan of Bethune and Richard Sullivan of Gosport, Hampshire, England; four sisters, Annie Mae Ballard of Harts-ville, Zulene Williams of Lancaster, Eunice Mangum of Bethune and Shirley Steen of Lugoff; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel and other times at the home.

Timothy Younce

ROCK HILL - Mr. Timothy Haskell Younce, 50, of Springstein Road died Tuesday, April 18, 2000.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wolfe Funeral Home.

A native of Fulton, Ga., Mr. Younce was a son of the late William Haskell Younce and Martha Jewell Cumbie Younce. A truck driver, he served in the U.S. Army Rangers during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Jo Marie Griffin Younce of Charlotte; three sons, Shayne Younce and Nathan Younce, both of Fort Mill, and Joseph Younce of Charlotte; two daughters, Stacy Younce Walden of Rock Hill and Billie Younce of Charlotte; his brother, Kenneth Younce of Asheville, N.C.; and four granddaughters.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service and at other times at the home of Shayne and Nathan Younce, 302 Gregg St., Fort Mill.

Joanne Funderburk

LANCASTER - Mrs. Joanne Williams Funderburk, 67, of 1311 Marion Way died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Moore officiating. Burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, N.C.

A native of Monroe, Mrs. Funderburk was a daughter of the late Edison Williams and Beulah Hargett Williams. She was retired from Manetta Mills.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Funderburk; two sons, Rusty Funderburk of Lancaster and Robbie Funderburk of Waxhaw, N.C.; her daughter, Tracy Belk of Monroe; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Anna McCollum

GREAT FALLS - Anna Patricia McCollum, infant daughter of Dale McCollum and Tricia Wishert McCollum of 836 Yarborough Road, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Roberts officiating.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Robert Parker McCollum of the home; her stepbrother, Buddy McCollum of the home; her maternal grandmother, Pattie Williams Wishert of Great Falls; her maternal grandfather, Robbie Wishert of Great Falls; her paternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Bobby McCollum of Newberry; her paternal great-grandmothers, Mattie Estes Wishert of Great Falls and Billie Steinkuhler of Charleston.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Horace Nivens

CLOVER - Mr. Horace Edward Nivens, 77, of 109 Catawba St. died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, the Revs. Dave Stanford and Charles Poore officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of York County, Mr. Nivens was a son of the late Alex Nivens and Frankie Chariker Nivens. Mr. Nivens was retired from American Thread after 44 years of service as an electrician and machinist. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher. He was a Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Biggers Nivens; his son, Scott Nivens of Clover; his brother, Roy Nivens of Etowah, Tenn.; his sister, Mary Coates of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.
