ROCK HILL - Mrs. Esther Patton Bailey, 93, of 618 Charlotte Ave. died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Neely's Creek ARP Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeannie Bickett officiating.

A native of Catawba, Mrs. Bailey was the daughter of the late Robert W. Patton and Esther Sharpe Betts.

She was a member of Neely's Creek ARP Church. She was retired from the payroll department at the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co.

Surviving are her daughter, Bette Jo B. Culp of Fort Mill; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Neely's Creek ARP Church or to the charity of one's choice.

Bass Funeral Home is in charge.

Minnie Burke

EDINBURG, TEXAS - Mrs. Minnie Lee "Memie" Swift Burke, 98, of 5215 S. Sugar Road and formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Edinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Bill Shytle officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Bessemer City, N.C., Mrs. Burke was the daughter of the late John Thomas Swift and Eliza Jane Parrish Swift. She was the widow of Wesley L. Burke. She was a salesperson at Smart Shoppe in Rock Hill, where she sold Luziers Cosmetics. She was also a member of College Park Baptist Church in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her daughter, Lucille B. Wegner of McAllen, Texas; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Geneva Green

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Geneva Worthy Green, 80, of 1454 Haynes St. died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. C. D. Montgomery officiating and the Rev. Al Yates assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Green was a daughter of the late Rev. Robert Worthy and Martha Worthy. She attended the Chester County schools and was a retired nurse assistant and domestic worker. She was a member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church, where she sang in the spiritual choir.

Surviving are her three sons, Grady Green Jr. of Charlotte, Eddie Green of Staten Island, N.Y., and Charles Richard Green of Rock Hill; three daughters, Margaret Chisholm of Rock Hill, the Evangelist Evelyn Harvill of Rock Hill, and the Rev. Lucille Petty of Charlotte; her brother, Elmore Worthy of Chester; her sister, LeAnnie Frederick of Chester; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Mount Prospect Baptist Church and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Chisholm, 1454 Haynes St., Rock Hill.

Bonnie Henry

YORK - Mrs. Bonnie Caulder Sandifer Henry, 83, of 3112 Balkan Drive died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Chaplin Miriam Mick officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte.

A native of Kannapolis, N.C., Mrs. Henry was the daughter of the late John Caulder and Essie Touchstone Caulder. She worked with Belk in the downtown Charlotte store for 20 years. She was a member of Pinegrove Baptist Church in Lake Wylie.

Surviving are her husband, Lewis Henry; her daughter, Bonnie Johns of York; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter, Bonnie Johns, 3062 Balkan Drive., York, SC.

Patricia McKeown

YORK - Mrs. Patricia Diane Charles McKeown, 53, of 6091 Old York Road died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Chuck Trammel officiating.

A native of Chester, Mrs. McKeown was a daughter of the late John Henry Charles Sr. and Mary Cora Lee Bryson Charles. She was employed with ARS in Charlotte and was a member of the Screaming Eagles Motorcycle Club. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her husband, Russell McKeown; two sons, Ronald Robinson Jr. and James Russell McKeown Jr., both of York; her daughter, Angela Michelle Robinson of Rock Hill; two brothers, "Squeeky" Charles of York and "Slick" Charles of Rock Hill; two sisters, Judy Shelley of Catawba and Jerri Porter of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home.

Walter Perry

FORT MILL - Mr. Walter Edward "Buddy" Perry, 79, of 3303 Pikeview Road died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pineville United Methodist Church, with Dr. Thomas Herrin and Dr. Larry Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Zoar United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fort Mill.

A native of Burlington, N.C., Mr. Perry was a son of the late Walter E. and Lillie Miles Perry. He was a retired engineer with WSOC-TV. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines. He was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Defray Tec. Institution and a member of Pineville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn Dennis Perry; two daughters, Sandra Perry Wilson and Patti Perry Cribb, both of Fort Mill; his sister, Annie P. Hansel of Gibsonville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Memorials may be made to Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 Polk St., Pineville, NC 28134.

Dorothy Truesdale

CLOVER - Mrs. Dorothy Burns Truesdale, 64, 2356 Southbend Road died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Filbert Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Wallace Tinsley officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of York County, Mrs. Truesdale was a daughter of the late William Burns and Mary Hogue Burns. She was the widow of Donald L. Truesdale. She was retired from John Deere.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen R. Davidson of Clover; two brothers, Alton Burns of York and William Burns of Clover; her sister, Jean B. Horton of Clover; and her granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover.

Roger Rollins

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Mr. Roger Wayne Rollins, 50, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Bay City Hospital.

The funeral will be private.

Mr. Rollins was a son of the late Lex Rollins and Mayo West Rollins.

Surviving are his son, Eric Dwayne Rollins of Rock Hill; and two granddaughters, Ashley Rollins and Amber Rollins, both of Rock Hill.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Zera Wise

CHESTER - Mrs. Zera Tracy Wise, 96, of 791 Pinckney Road died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Revs. David Sealy and Donald Scoggins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Union County, Mrs. Wise was the daughter of the late George Vernon Tracy and Dora Miller Tracy. She was the widow of Linder Ray Wise. A homemaker, Mrs. Wise attended Lockhart schools and was a member of the Sandy River Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 173. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 75 years.

Surviving are her son, Manning R. Wise of Chester; her sister, Essie T. Woods of Chester; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Nancy Floyd

LANCASTER-Mrs. Nancy Richardson Floyd, 86, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Newberry.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ansel Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery in Pageland.

A native of Pageland, Mrs. Floyd was a daughter of the late Joseph Richardson and Missouri McCow Richardson. She was the widow of Ozzie Floyd. Retired from Springs Industries, Mrs. Floyd was a member of Great Commission Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Harry Hinson and Joseph E. "Bill" Hinson, both of Chapin, and Heyward "Pete" Hinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughter, Peggy "Pat" Grier of Charleston; her brother, Joseph "Joe" Richardson of Lancaster; her sister, Ida R. Pardue of Lancaster; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway.

YORK - Mrs. Jean Shipton Marrone, 55, formerly of York, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Richland County.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at Gloryland Freewill Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Phil Lemmons officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York.

A native of York, Mrs. Marrone was a daughter of the late Willard Shipton and Edith Sisk Shipton. She was a waitress.

Surviving are her son, Anthony Marrone of Columbia; her daughter, Gina Marrone of Connecticut; three brothers, Willard Shipton of Rock Hill, Eddie Shipton and Larry Shipton, both of York; her sister, Della S. Branham of Columbia; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home and other times at the home of Eddie Shipton, 139 Charlotte St., York.

Ellen Martin

MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. - Mrs. Ellen Hellard Martin, 60, of 107 Gaddis Drive died Thursday, June 1, 2000.

The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lowell Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tim Arnold and Dr. Paul R. Kerscher officiating.

A native of Mount Holly, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late Jesse Hellard and Jessie Phillips Hellard. She was retired from First Union Bank and was a member of Lowell Presbyterian Church's women's circle No. 3. She was a former writer for East Gaston Suburban Newspaper. She attended Central Piedmont Community College, the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Queens College and Gaston College.

Surviving are her son, Donald Lemmond Jr. of Belmont, N.C.; her daughter, Nicole Hoover of Rock Hill; and her sister, Betty Turner of Gastonia, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the home, 107 Gaddis Drive, Mount Holly.

Memorials may be made to Lowell Presbyterian Church for the youth group and expansion of the library, 207 E. First St., Lowell, NC 28098.
