ROCK HILL - Mrs. Annie White Moffatt of 320 S. Workman St. died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Pastor Charles Woods officiating and the Revs. Charles Dunlap and R. H. Brice assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. White was the daughter of Frank White Sr. of Rock Hill and the late Margaret Brice White.

She attended Rock Hill High School.

Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Warren C. Moffatt of Catawba; her son, Warren C. Moffatt Jr. of Rock Hill; two daughters, Shureka M. White and Maria N. White, both of Rock Hill; four brothers, James D. Brice of Columbia and Jackie Ray Brice, Frank Jr. White and Leon White, all of Rock Hill; and two sisters, Carol White Byers and Annie Davis, both of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home. The body will be placed in the church at noon Thursday.

Neva Myers

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Neva Joy Drake Myers, 71, of 1341 Eden Terrace died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 6 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with Pastor David Pharr officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Eldorado Cemetery in Eldorado, Okla.

A native of Eldorado, Mrs. Myers was the daughter of the late Everette Drake and Edith Powers Drake. She was the widow of Joe Wilburn Black and Densel Myers. She was a homemaker and a member of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ in Rock Hill.

Surviving are her son, Tommy Royce Black of Hiawatha, Kan.; three daughters, Joneva Lucille Flowers of Wichita, Kan., and Patricia Borchert and Christy Merrilee Stiles, both of Rock Hill; four sisters, Nila McCord of Napa, Calif., Bobbie Bently of Eldorado, Kay Babb of Atlus, Okla., and Connie Mincey of Tuttle, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the service at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Ann Nivens

YORK - Mrs. Ann Hogue Nivens, 66, of 314 Simrill Ave. died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Randy Gardner officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Nivens was the daughter of Clara R. Hogue of Clover and the late Robert L. Hogue. She was a retired packer at Rock Hill Printing Finishing Co.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Edgar D. Nivens; her son, Robby Nivens of York; her daughter, Tamra Nivens West of Chester; her brother, Harry Hogue of Clover; two sisters, Sue Hogue Wallace of Greer and Kay Hogue Petty of Clover; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Nellie Stanley

FORT MILL - Mrs. Nellie Alley Stanley, 73, of 8883 Shelley Mullis Road died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be noon today at Belair United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve McCormick officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Methodist Cemetery in Cornelius, N.C.

A native of Iredell County, N.C., Mrs. Stanley was the daughter of the late Robert Alley and Clemmie Sweet Alley. She was the widow of Willie Stanley. She was a homemaker and was a member of Belair United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Gary Alexander Hager of Concord, N.C., Tony D. Hunt of Fort Mill and Edward D. Hager of Pawleys Island; her daughter, Johnnie Belinda Hager of Fort Mill; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hunt, 9408 Man-O-War Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Myrtle Ussery

GEORGETOWN - Mrs. Myrtle Brooks Ussery, 92, formerly of Charlotte, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be private. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Rock Hill.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Ussery was retired from Rock Hill Printing Finishing Co. She was a lifelong member of the Rock Hill Woman's Club. She also was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Ussery Knott of Charlotte; her son, Albert Max Ussery Jr. of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church after the memorial service.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry, 215 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

John Ghent Sr.

LANCASTER ­ Mr. John D. Ghent Sr., 89, of 2298 Camp Creek Road died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Camp Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Cecil Johnson and Grady Ghent officiating. Burial will be at Camp Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Ghent was a son of the late James Hervey Ghent and Lucy Sweatt Ghent. He was the widower of Ollie Juanita G. Ghent and Elizabeth Goodwin Ghent.

He was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are two sons, John D. "Bill" Ghent of Whiteville, N.C., and Randy Gene Ghent of Loris; three sisters, Faye Lee Brazzell and Juanita Pate, both of Lancaster, and Jewel Hungate of Arnold, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel and at other times at home, 2298 Camp Creek Road, Lancaster.

James Helms

ROCK HILL - Mr. James Allen Helms, 56, of 221 Driftwood Lane died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at University Hospital in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, with Father William Pentis officiating.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Helms was a son of Allen William Helms of Fort Mill and the late Flossie Viola Belk.

He was the owner of A J Trucking Co. He was a Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Dewey and the U.S.S. Harwood.

Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Anita Danielia Laffitte Helms; two brothers, Ronald W. Helms of Fort Mill and Gary Wayne Helms of Conway; and two sisters, Mary Ann Moss of Rock Hill and Barbara Jean Buckley of Chester.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service at home.

David Summerford Sr.

CHARLOTTE - Mr. David Leslie Summerford Sr., 81, of the Steele Creek community in Charlotte died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Mecklenburg Health Care.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Bob Jack officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Summerford was the son of the late James Walter Summerford and Lula Eloise Leslie Summerford.

He was retired from McLean Trucking and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years.

Surviving are his wife, Clara Sipe Summerford; his son, David Sum-merford Jr. of Rock Hill; and his granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.

Wolfe Funeral Home of Fort Mill is in charge.

Morgan Plott

ROCK HILL - Morgan Faith Plott, infant daughter of Tony Eugene Plott Sr. and Michelle Lynn Plott of 2511 Zinker Road died Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Anthony Dick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her grandparents, Rhonda Drawdy, Bruce Wright, Patricia Plott Stoger and Michael Stoger, all of Rock Hill, and Michael Plott Sr. of Charlotte; her great-grandparents, Leroy Drawdy, Vauncile Drawdy and Virginia Duncan, all of Rock Hill, and Pearl Plott of York.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and at other times at the home of Rhonda Drawdy and Teresa Plott, 6790 Mandrian Road, Rock Hill.

Robert Wilson Jr.

FORT MILL - Mr. Robert Daniel "Bobby" Wilson Jr., 46, of 7843 Green Pond Road died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Osceola United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bob Dunn and Bert Watson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Wilson was a son of Robert D. Wilson Sr. and Minnie Mae Wilson Wilson, both of Lancaster.

He worked for Ross Witmer Inc. of Charlotte as a HVAC technician. He was a member of the Carolina Model A Club and served as an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop No. 275. He was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Maryanne Whicker Wilson; two sons, Robert Joseph Wilson of Charlotte and Joshua Adam Wilson of Charleston; his daughter, Jeana Lauren Wilson of Fort Mill; four sisters, Linda Huff of Sevierville, Tenn., Libby Wilson of Fort Mill, Shirley Sexton of Cayce and Lois Leder of Columbus, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster.

Allen Chisholm

ROCK HILL - Mr. Allen Chisholm of 2484 Zinker Road died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church, with Pastor Paul Mosley officiating. Pastor Daniel Chisholm will give the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Chisholm was a son of the late Jacob Chisholm and Carrie Sandifer Chisholm. He attended the public schools of York County. He was a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church, where he was the chairman of the deacon board, former Sunday school superintendent and teacher, Bible school teacher, former leader of the gospel choir, a member of the custodial maintenance team and the AP Society.

Surviving are his wife, Julia William Chisholm; three daughters, Florence A. Stinson, Mary Chisholm Love, Nancy Chisholm Love, all of Rock Hill; eight brothers, Jacob Chisholm, Abraham Chisholm, Howard Chisholm, Walter Chisholm, and Pastor Daniel Chisholm, all of Rock Hill, Joseph Chisholm of Brooklyn, N.Y., and James Chisholm and John C. Chisholm, both of Washington; his sister, Mary Ann Young of Silver Springs, Md.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at home.

Hazel Cox

SIMPSONVILLE - Mrs. Hazel Carter Cox, 83, of 48 Spaar Lane, formerly of Fort Lawn, died Thursday, June 8, 2000.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church in Lancaster, with the Revs. Ray Robinson, Robert Stegall and Joel Rhyner officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn.

A native of Chewalla, Tenn., Mrs. Cox was a daughter of the late William R. Carter and Cynthia Eaker Carter. She was retired from Collins Department Store. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Greenville and a former member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Roy L. Cox; four daughters, Ernestine Hayes of Monroe, N.C., Betty Stegall of Simpsonville, Catherine Barnes of Rock Hill and Elizabeth Robinson of Simpsonville; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her grandson, Rocky Lucas, 1076 Hilldale Drive, Lancaster.

Lamar Davis

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Lamar "Pig" Davis, 59, of 1833 W. Adams Drive, formerly of York, died Monday, June 5, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at White Hill AME Zion Church in York, with the Rev. J. B. Leach officiating and Dr. Deborah Allen and the Revs. J. C. McGill and Samuel H. Barber Jr. assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Cherokee County, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Ed Richard Davis and Beulah Watkins Davis. He was a heavy equipment operator for a mining company and was a member of White Hill AME Zion church in York.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Davis of York; two sons, Anthony L. Davis of Manhattan, N.Y., and Patrick L. Davis of York; two daughters, Melinda D. Davis and Annette D. Smith, both of Gastonia; two stepdaughters, Natosha Neal and Phyllis Neal, both of York; three brothers, King Davis and Paul Davis, both of Gastonia, and Cornell Davis of Mauldin; three sisters, Lucille Manning and Ruby Davis, both of Gastonia, and Alphenia Nelson of High Point, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of his wife, Margaret Davis, 39 Cannon Court in York.

The body will be viewed from 5 to 7 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.
