Otis Ware

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Otis Ware of Charlotte died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Integrated Health Services.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Lowrey officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Baptist Church cemetery in Lowrys.

Surviving is one sister, Louise Ware of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at King's Funeral Home in Charlotte.

The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home in Chester until the time of the service.

Grace Carter

LANCASTER - Mrs. Grace Louvenia Meadows Carter, 88, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Cooley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Clinton, Mrs. Carter was a daughter of the late Pascael M. Meadows and Myrtle Veal Meadows. She was the widow of Curtis L. "Dick" Carter. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member and active in all church programs. She was a retired clerk with Sears.

Surviving are her son, Curtis L. Carter Jr. of Hickory, N.C.; her sister, Frances M. Dowdle of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.

Ernest Williams

ROCK HILL - Mr. Ernest Williams, formerly of York County, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Chester County, with the Rev. W.W. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Williams was a son of the late Arthur Williams and Queen Esther Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth S. Williams; three sons, Ernest Williams Jr. of Florida, Ray Williams of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Dion Williams of the home; three brothers, Luke Williams and Arthur Williams, both of Washington D.C., and Robert Williams of Rock Hill; four sisters, Mary L. Harris of Columbia, and Jessie Quarles, Queen Esther Stoute and Louise Johnson, all of Washington D.C.; two adopted sisters, Hazel Williams of Maryland and Frances Harvey of Washington D.C.; and three grandchildren.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

John Forrest

ROCK HILL - Mr. John Frank Forrest, 75, of 1728 Sharonwood Lane died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at NewKirk Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Sames officiating.

A native of Talladega, Ala., Mr. Forrest was a son of the late James Russell Forrest and Anna Hurst Forrest. He was a member of the NewKirk Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran during World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Whitaker Forrest; two sons, John Michael "Mike" Forrest of Rock Hill and Russell David "Rusty" Forrest of Lancaster; his daughter, Beverlee Forrest Simmons of Clinton; his sister, Blanche Nesbitt of Hueytown, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to NewKirk Baptist Church, 175 Muse-um Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Ruth Crisler

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Ruth Rachael Queen Crisler, 81, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Mecklenburg Health Care Center.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hankins and Whittington, Dilworth Chapel. Burial will be private.

A native of Whittier, N.C., Mrs. Crisler was a daughter of the late Leonard Queen and Martha Norman Queen. She was a cafeteria worker for Macke Services.

Surviving is her daughter, Adora Lee Crisler of Statesville, N.C.

The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Hankins & Whittington, Dilworth Chapel, is in charge.

Regina Graham

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Regina Hall Graham, 43, of 1117 Calhoun St. died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Mosely officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The eulogy will be conducted by the Rev. T.R. Jones, with the Revs. Edward Garrison, Virginia Wilmore and Hattie Foster assisting.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Graham was a daughter of Robert Leach and Betty Leach of Rock Hill. She attended the York County schools and was a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Ronald Graham; her son, Robert Hall of Rock Hill; two daughters, Nicole Hall and Jamie Hall, both of Rock Hill; five brothers, Robert Bernard Leach and Sylvester Smith, both of Rock Hill, Thomas Leach of Columbia, Elder Leach of Spartanburg and the Rev. Richard Leach of Lancaster; two sisters, Arnette Leach Stinson of Lancaster and Jacqueline Webb of Maple Heights, Ohio; and her granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Parker Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Norma Hyatt

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Norma Lee Jackson Hyatt, 59, of 6291 Richburg Road died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Rumford officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Great Falls, Mrs. Hyatt was a daughter of the late Norman Jack Jackson and Linnie Knight Jackson. She worked for Haddon House and was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Great Falls High School.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence E. "Pete" Hyatt; her brother, John B. Jackson of Long Beach N.C.; and two sisters, Minnie Jackson Neely of Great Falls and Susan Jackson Carter of Conway.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Doris McAteer

ROCK HILL - Ms. Doris Dameron McAteer, 61, of 720 Chestnut St. died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating and the Rev. David Jen-nings assisting.

A native of Clover, Ms. McAteer was a daughter of the late Randolph P. Dameron and Naomi Mosteller Nichols. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for Picker International in Charlotte and Arby's Restaurant in Rock Hill.

Surviving are three sons, Tommy McAteer of Sumter, Kenny McAteer or Rock Hill and Kelly McAteer of the home; three daughters, Kim Hamrick of York, Kathy Wallace of Catawba and Chris Wright of Myrtle Beach; four brothers, Buster Nichols of Norcross, Ga., Furman Nichols Jr. of Spartanburg, and Ike Nichols and Roy Nichols, both of Rock Hill; three sisters, Louise Kniesley of St. Helena Isles, and Nancy Bagley and Juanita Combs, both of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Ralph McCallum

ROCK HILL - Mr. Ralph Stevenson McCallum, 78, of 1657 Ebenezer Road died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at NewKirk Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeffery A. Sames officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m., prior to the service, at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Leeds, Mr. McCallum was a son of the late Howard Winston McCallum and Mae Stevenson McCallum. He was a retiree of Hoechest-Celanese Corp. with 35 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp and a member of NewKirk Baptist Church.

Surviving are his son, Howard T. McCallum of Rock Hill; two daughters, Elaine M. Langston of Clover and Cathy M. Morrison of Huntersville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Edna Ramsey

SHARON - Mrs. Edna "Bleasie" Childers Ramsey, 86, formerly of Ramsey Road, died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at White Oak Manor in York.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Nix officiating.

A native of York County, Mrs. Ramsey was a daughter of the late Frank Childers and Ella Smith Childers. She was the widow of Harry A. Ramsey. Mrs. Ramsey attended Blairsville School, and worked for Lockhart Mills. She was a member of Hickory Grove Church of God.

Surviving are three half-brothers, Edward Childers, Lonnie Childers, and Furman Childers, all of Clinton; her sister, Hazel C. Loveday of Lock-hart; and her stepmother, Martha Childers of Clinton.

Memorials may be made to the White Oak Manor activities fund, 111 S. Congress St., York, SC 29745.

Henry Schroeder

RICHBURG - Mr. Henry Herman Schroeder, 85, of 1504-B Beaver Dam Road died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A private memorial service will be scheduled.

A native of Verden, Germany, Mr. Schroeder was a son of the late Henry Schroeder and Marie Schroeder. He was an engineer for CBS in Chicago for 38 years. A member of Mt. Prospect United Methodist Church, Mr. Schroeder was an Airstream enthusiast and a HAM radio operator.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Wesemann Schroeder of the home; his son, Dr. Ronald Schroeder of Loveland, Colo.; three daughters, Carol Bruce of Richburg, Susan Lothary of Tampa, Fla., and Jean Schubert of Milwaukee, Wis.; his brother, Rudolph Schroeder of Morton Grove, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Prospect Church.

Bliss Steele

LANCASTER - Mr. Bliss Ira Steele, 90, died Friday, June 16, 2000.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Neal Williams officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Steele was a son of the late Thomas Wylie Steele and Sarah Sally Mothershed Steele. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Camp Creek Masonic Lodge No. 317. He was retired from the Springs Foundry.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille Parker Steele; his son, Richard Bliss Steele of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Steele, 2978 Camp Creek Road, Lancaster.

Elizabeth Hance

HEATH SPRINGS - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Adams Hance, 70, of 3528 Kershaw Camden Highway. died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 4:30 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dr. Mike Alexander, Leroy Adams and Mickey Cockrell officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Heath Springs, Mrs. Hance was a daughter of the late Chalmers Leroy Adams and Eva Mae Barrett Adams. She was the widow of Ira Boyd Hance Sr. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the St. Luke United Methodist Church Golden Agers and the Red Rose Ramblers Square Dance Club.

Surviving are two sons, Ira Boyd "Tank" Hance Jr. of Heath Springs and James Timothy Hance of Columbia; her daughter, Barbara Hance Ellis of Lancaster; three brothers, Leroy Adams of Petersburg, Va., and Edward Adams and David Adams, both of Heath Springs; eight grandchildren; and her great-grandson.

The family will receive friends at the home.
