Jacob Hodges

LANCASTER - Jacob Dillon Hodges, infant son of James R. Hodges and Bridget Nicole Ingram Hodges, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral was Saturday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his grandparents, Donald D. Ingram of Lancaster, Debra B. Ingram of Little River and Kathy Kinsey of Lancaster; and his great-grandmother, Nell H. Ingram of Lancaster.

Cauthen Funeral Home Lancaster Chapel is in charge.

Lillie Keener

CHESTER - Mrs. Lillie Mae Franklin Keener, 51, of 114 Oak St., died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. Dr. W.G. Boulware officiating and Pastor Alonzo Gregory, and the Revs. Moses Lightner and Bill Stringfellow assisting. Burial will be at Old Wilson Baptist Church cemetery

A native of Chester, Mrs. Keener was a daughter of the late Ella Rae Booker Franklin and James Franklin. She was a homemaker and a caretaker. She attended Finley Senior High School and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Elmore Keener; four sons, Leonard Keener and Elmore "Peanut" Keener, both of Chester, and Donald "Bam" Keener and Jay Meril Keener, both of the home; her daughter, Elaine Cousar of Chester; five brothers, Donelle Franklin, Tommy Lee Franklin, Michael Franklin and Jay Lester Franklin, all of Chester, and Jackie Franklin of Estell; two sisters, Juanita "Polly" Worthy and Carrie Lee Franklin, both of Chester; three nieces whom she raised, Kimberly Franklin, Shemia Franklin and Ellana Franklin, all of the home; her nephew whom she raised, Marcello Hill of the home; and two grandsons whom she raised, Jerome Cousar and Montell Cousar, both of the home; and two other grandchildren.

Viewing will be 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the church.

Gore's Funeral Home is in charge.

Doris McAteer

ROCK HILL - Ms. Doris Dameron McAteer, 61, of 720 Chestnut St. died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wyatt officiating and the Rev. David Jen-nings assisting. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Clover, Ms. McAteer was a daughter of the late Randolph P. Dameron and Naomi Mosteller Nichols. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for Picker International in Charlotte and Arby's Restaurant in Rock Hill.

Surviving are three sons, Tommy McAteer of Sumter, Kenny McAteer of Rock Hill and Kelly McAteer of the home; three daughters, Kim Hamrick of York, Kathy Wallace of Catawba and Chris Wright of Myrtle Beach; four brothers, Buster Nichols of Norcross, Ga., Furman Nichols Jr. of Spartanburg and Ike Nichols and Roy Nichols, both of Rock Hill; three sisters, Louise Kniesley of St. Helena Isles and Nancy Bagley and Juanita Combs, both of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 today at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Ralph McCallum

ROCK HILL - Mr. Ralph Stevenson McCallum, 78, of 1657 Ebenezer Road died Friday, June 16, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at NewKirk Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeffery A. Sames officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery.

A native of Leeds, Mr. McCallum was a son of the late Howard Winston McCallum and Mae Stevenson McCallum. He was a retiree of Hoechest-Celanese Corp. with 35 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps and was a member of NewKirk Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Steele McCallum; his son, Howard T. McCallum of Rock Hill; two daughters, Elaine M. Langston of Clover and Cathy M. Morrison of Hunters-ville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Mabel Tate

FORT LAWN - Mrs. Mabel Nickerson Tate, 88, of 1500 Catawba River Road died Friday, June 16, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Mount Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Warwick officiating.

A native of Powers County, Colo., Mrs. Tate was a daughter of the late William Elmer Nickerson and Mary Elizabeth Adamson Nickerson. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Company and was a member of Great Falls Presbyterian Church. She attended schools in Colorado.

Surviving are her daughter, Elaine Gibson of Fort Lawn; two stepsons, Robert Tate of Blackstock and Earl Tate of Bamberg; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Chad Wright

CHESTER - Mr. Chad Everett Wright, 29, of 223 Pinckney Street died Saturday, June 17, 2000.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Gregg Keller officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester, Mr. Wright was a son of Mikell L. Wright of Griffin, Ga., and Cindy Grady Wright of Chester. He was a machinist at Teledyne Allvac Rolling in Richburg and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a graduate of Chester High School, where he played football and was an American Legion baseball umpire.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepmother, Faye Wright of Griffin, Ga.; his sister, Shelli Rae Wright of Chester; two half-brothers, Bart Boatwright of Belton and John R. "Bo" Lewis of Winnsboro; his half-sister, Melissa Boatwright of Anderson; his paternal grandfather, E.W. Wright of Chester; his maternal grandfather, John L. Ward of Union; his maternal grandmothers, Lucille Lemmons Wright of Chester and Willie Mae Patterson of Clinton; and his maternal stepgrandfather, Charles E. Patterson of Clinton.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

John Donoghue Jr.

LANCASTER - Mr. John Francis Donoghue Jr., 63, of 1859 Sardis Drive, Arrowood died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Morrison officiating. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Cemetery in Worchester, Mass., with Father John Thomas officiating.

A native of Worchester, Mr. Donoghue was a son of the late John Francis Donoghue and Gertrude Foley Donoghue. He retired from Joslyn Clark Controls, Inc. and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia McNamara Donoghue; his son, Michael J. Donoghue of Greer; his daughter, Maureen Donoghue of Lancaster; his brother, Michael James Donoghue of Winter Haven, Fla.; his sister, Barbara Ostman of Spokane, Wash; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Christopher Miller

CLOVER - Mr. Christopher Wade Miller, 18, of 155 S. Grandview Road died Saturday, June 17, 2000.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Clover, with the Rev. David Stanford officiating.

A native of Kings Mountain, N.C., Mr. Miller was a son of Tom Miller and Mary Miller. A member of the Class of 2000 at Clover High School, Mr. Miller was a sergeant in the Bethany-Santiago Fire Department and was a volunteer with Clover Jaycee Toys for Tots. He worked at Killian's Service Center in Clover.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Jonathan Miller of Charleston; his maternal grandparents, Glenn Moses and Bobbie Moses of Clover; and his paternal grandmother, Olivene Miller of Clover.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Edna Mosier

LANCASTER - Mrs. Edna Neal Mosier, 82, of 1107 Hudson St. died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Colley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Mosier was a daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Neal and Haselyn Parks Neal. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, an active member of the United Methodist women, Leroy Springs Senior Citizen Club and was a retired employee of Springs Industries. She was the widow of Toy Charlie Mosier.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas Charlie Mosier of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jimmy Ray Mosier and Jerry Richard Mosier, both of Lancaster; two daughters, Margie Allen and Haselyn Garris, both of Lancaster; three sisters, Margaret Snipes, Helen McCain and Betty Snipes, all of Lancaster; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Nannie Newman

BETHUNE - Mrs. Nannie McCaskill Newman, 99, of 4998 Newman Road died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Kershaw County Medical Center-Kerish Wing in Camden.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Timrod Baptist Church, with the Revs. Wayne Bateman and Ed Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Timrod Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Camden, Mrs. Newman was a daughter of the late James Daniel McCaskill and Susan Dixon McCaskill. She was the widow of William Charlie Newman Sr.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Timrod Baptist Church, the Golden Circle Sunday school class and the Golden Rod Senior Citizens.

Surviving are five sons, James Newman of Jefferson,and William Newman Jr., Grady Newman, Roy Newman and Nelson Newman, all of Bethune; three daughters, Elaine Hartis, Sarah Anderson and Helen Catoe, all of Bethune; her stepdaughter, Alma Hilton of Bethune; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter, Elaine Hartis, 4070 Timrod Road, Bethune.

Miller Raley

CHARLOTTE - Mr. Miller J. Raley, 80, of Charlotte died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Sunrise of South Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

Mr. Raley was a son of the late Leonard E. Raley and Zella Lowery Raley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Army Band. He served in the band while in the National Guard and the Reserves until the 1960s. He worked as an electrician with Cates Mechanical Corp. for more than 25 years.

Surviving are his two sons, Richard Raley of Charlotte and Jeff Raley of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel.

Delores Dunn

CHESTER - Mrs. Delores Frame Dunn, 68, of 520 Pineview Lakes Road died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chester ARP Church, with the Rev. Dwight Pearson officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte.

A native of West Virginia, Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and was a member of Chester ARP Church. She was the widow of the Rev. David Dunn.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Barron Room of Chester ARP Church.

Sudie Burns

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Sudie Starnes Burns, 63, of 137 Wisteria Lane died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at home.

The funeral will 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lesslie Church of God, with the Rev. Billy Gilliard officiating and the Revs. Lafon Hardy, and Robert Cooke assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Chesterfield, Mrs. Burns was a member of Lesslie Church of God. She worked for KlearKnit and Goodwill Industries in Rock Hill.

Surviving are five sons, Eddie E. Burns of Fort Mill, David Burns of Edgemoor, Ronnie W. Burns and Jackie Burns, both of Rock Hill, and Jerry Lee Burns of Fort Mill; two stepsons, William Burns of Rock Hill and Bobby Burns of Chester; her daughter, Linda Burns Jackson of Edgemoor; six brothers, Amos Starnes, Woodrow Starnes, Benny Starnes, Frankie Starnes and Melvin Starnes, all of Rock Hill, and Thomas Starnes of York; two sisters, Sara Sprouse and Mary Hardwick, both of Rock Hill; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her companion of five years, Charles Gibson of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home of Jerry Burns, 205 PineCrest Mobile Home Park, Fort Mill.
