Willie Mae Williams

ATLANTA - Mrs. Willie Mae Williams, 60, of 3670 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at South West Community Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at J.W. Woodward Funeral Chapel in Spartanburg, with the Rev. John Wilkins officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Garden.

Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Jimmy Willison and Anna Brown Williams. A native of Spartanburg County, she was a member of the Maple Temple Holiness Church in Compobello.

Surviving are her husband, Sammie L. Williams Jr.; two daughters, Juanita Bennette of Inman and Margaret Fullerwinder of Spartanburg; two brothers, Willie B. Williams of Greer and Larry D. Brown of Spartanburg; her sister, Louise Brown of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 281 Mount View Lane in Inman.

David Wade

YORK - Mr. David Richard "Baby" Wade, 39, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at St. Luke No. 1 Baptist Church in Sharon, with the Rev. A.A. Bankhead officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in York, Mr. Wade was a son of the late Sam Wade and Frances Simpson Wade. He worked as a sanitation engineer for the city of Clover and was a member of St. Luke No. 1 Baptist Church in Sharon. He was a graduate of York High School.

Surviving are two sisters, Pauline Lytle of Sharon and Inez McCoy of Gastonia, N.C.; and six brothers, Alvin Wade of Washington, D.C., George Wade and John Pratt Wade, both of Gastonia, Donald Wade and Luther Wade, both of Sharon, and Joe Lee Wade of Summerville.

The body will be taken to the church Monday at noon.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge.

Charles Webb

CHESTER - Mr. Charles Irwin Webb, 40, of 1783 Old York Road died Saturday, June 24, 2000.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Lowry's Baptist Church, with the Revs. Roger Thomas, Chris Snelgrove and Dale Welch officiating.

A native of Chester, Mr. Webb was a son of Charles Irwin Webb Sr. and the late Mary Carter Webb. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended York Technical College. Mr. Webb retired from Georgia Pacific in Rock Hill and was a member of the Lowry's Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association, the National Rifle Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Tracy Ray Webb; two sons, Josh Eric Webb of the home and Charles Irwin "Trey" Webb of the U.S. Navy; his daughter, Wendy Southworth of Chester; five sisters, Mary Alice Brown and Virginia L. Smith, both of Chester, Susan Coggins of Edgemoor, Faye Moran of Lexington and Laura Jean Francis of Santee, Calif.; and his grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Rachel Wilson

RUTHERFORDTON, N.C. - Ms. Rachel Nanney Wilson, 74, of 140 Joy St. in Forest City, N.C., died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Willow Ridge Nursing Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wade Huntley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes before services.

A native of Rutherford County, N.C., Ms. Wilson was a daughter of the late Benjamin Nanney and Ida Mae Laughter Nanney. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Ernest Wilson.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Wilson Cash of Aynor and Julie Wilson Cooper of York; four sisters, Gladys Hunley and Nancy Nalley, both of Shelby, N.C.; Virginia Taylor and Doris Whitner, both of Rutherfordton; her brother, Abraham Nanney of Bostic, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 and 8:30 tonight at Crowe's Mortuary.

John Kendrick Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. John Kendrick Jr. of 1780 Oak Pond Road died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Grove Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Scott Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Kendrick was a son of the late John Kendrick Sr. and Lottie Ratchford Kendrick. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended public school in York County. He was the widower of Mozelle Nance Kendrick.

Surviving are two daughters, Janie Barber and Bernice Cunningham, both of Rock Hill; five sons, John Kendrick III, Robert Horace Kendrick, Robert Lee Kendrick, Andrew Kendrick and Rudolph Kendrick, all of Rock Hill; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The body will be placed in the church at noon Wednesday.

Lura Wilkes

TRYON, N.C. - Mrs. Lura Nell Babb Wilkes, 86, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Tryon, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland United Methodist Church in Rock Hill. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in Hickory Tavern, Mrs. Wilkes was the wife of the late Rev. Thomas Wilkes Sr. and was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church, where she was active in her Sunday school class and was a member of Woodland UMC VIPs.

Surviving are her son, the Rev. Thomas Wilkes Jr. of Landrum; her daughter, Carolyn Babb Wilkes of Fort Mill; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bass Funeral Home in Rock Hill.

Nancy Dill

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nancy Holland Dill, 78, of 1150 Holland Road died Monday, June 26, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Martin officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Canton, N.C., Mrs. Dill was the daughter of the late Chaz Matthais Holland and Jimmie Kate Westmoreland Holland. She was the widow of Chalmer Dill.

Retired from Celanese and from the Rock Hill school district, Mrs. Dill was a member of Eastview Baptist Church, its Annie Herdon Sunday school class and Joy Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her son, Bob Dill of Charlotte; her daughter, Linda Stegall of Fort Mill; two sisters, Gelda Hicks of Rock Hill and Mary Bob Schmidt of Concord, Calif.; four grandchildren; and her great-grandson.

Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill chapel, is in charge.

Betty Jo Ferguson

YORK - Mrs. Betty Jo Johnson Ferguson, 59, of 233 Charlotte St. died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Olivine Martin officiating and the Rev. Richard Pitts assisting. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Ferguson was the daughter of the late Julian Johnson and Nora Lee Brock Johnson. The widow of John Bell Ferguson Sr., Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Bright Light Freewill Baptist Church in York.

Surviving are her son, John Bell Ferguson Jr. of Monroe, N.C.; her daughter, Brenda Kay Ferguson Medlin of the home; her brother, Earl Johnson of York; her sister, Judy J. Sauso of Sharon; and two grandchildren.

Richard Howle

LANCASTER - Mr. Richard Ed-gar Howle, 56, of 1131 S. Main St. died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hartley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Howle was the son of the late George Colon Howle Sr. and Annie Estelle Harpe Howle. A Navy veteran, Mr. Howle was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are three brothers, George Howle Jr. of Lancaster, Emmitt Howle of Patrick and Tycho Howle of Atlanta; and three sisters, Inez Rawls and Elaine Vaughn, both of Lancaster, and Juanita Johnson of Westville.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Letitia Holmes

WALHALLA - Mrs. Letitia Mae Kelley Holmes, 71, of 302 E. North Broad St. died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at home.

The funeral was Saturday at Davenport Funeral Home chapel. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Holmes was the daughter of the late Bill Kelley and Lula Crocker Kelley. She was a homemaker and was a member of West Union Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Doug Holmes of Walhalla; three daughters, Linda Collins of Rock Hill, Loretta Walters of Seneca and Gail Brooks of Anderson; two brothers, Clifton Kelley of Westminster and Lloyd Kelley of Mooresville, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Smith and Mary Owens, both of Walhalla; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

C. Lowell Cannon

FORT MILL - Pastor C. Lowell Cannon, 73, of 2788 Dogwood Hills Court died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dan Griffin, Kent Hubbard, and Ken Fetuao officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Columbus, Ky., Pastor Cannon was a son of the late Aubrey Franklin Cannon and Levinia Evans Cannon. He earned his law degree at LaSalle University in Chicago. He was senior vice-president of First National Bank in Champaign, Ill., where he was head of the trust department. He served four years in the Merchant Marine and 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he retired as master sergeant in 1969.

Pastor Cannon was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Bukdoll Cannon of the home; his daughter, Cheryl Lynn Cannon Stewart of Rocky River, Ohio; his stepmother, Marie Cannon of Evansville, Ind.; his brother, Charles Keeton of St. Louis; his sister, Sandy Limp of Evansville, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at home.

James Craig

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. - Mr. James Craig, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at Stella Morris Hospice Center in Lutherville, Md.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Freewill Baptist Church in Maryland. Burial will be at King Memorial Park in Randallstown, Md.

Surviving are his wife, Burma A. Craig; three sons, Glen A. Craig, Grant E. Craig and William G. Craig, all of Lutherville; and two daughters, Glenda Y. Smith and Loria Garrison, both of Lutherville.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Albert P. Wylie Funeral Home, 638 N. Gilmor St., Baltimore.

Kings Funeral Home in Chester is in charge of local arrangements.

Ella Harris

ROCK HILL - Ms. Ella Caldwell Harris, died Sunday, June, 25, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Clover, with the Rev. Sam Thompson officiating.

A native of York, Ms. Harris was the widow of Aris Harris.

Surviving are her son, Calvin Walker of Clover; her daughter, Resse Walker; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Calvin Walker, 5954 Oakridge Road, Clover, SC.
