Peggy McCall

FORT MILL - Mrs. Alice "Peggy" Kiker McCall, 64, of 2964 Deer Creek Drive died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Summerton, Mrs. McCall was a daughter of the late James Thomas Kiker and Bessie Laney Kiker. She worked for Pharr Yarns in Clover and was the owner of Downey Building Co. of Fort Mill. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Downey McCall; two sons, James E. Boone and Tracy N. Boone, both of Fort Mill; her daughter, Tamara B. Deese of Fort Mill; her sister, Thelma Ray of Houston, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Margaret Oates

FORT MILL - Mrs. Margaret Moses Oates, 79, of 204 Starns Point Court died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Scott Gibson officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Oates was retired from Cone Mills Industries and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Jerry W. Oates of Fort Mill; her daughter, Rebecca O. Glarrow of Sacramento, Calif.; her four sisters, Florence M. Welloughbly of Fort Mill, Betty Jo Maddrix of Florence, Velsie Reeve of Seneca and Mildred Carelock of Charlotte; and three grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Fort Mill Funeral Home.

Michaela Roberts

LANCASTER - Michaela Lynn Roberts, infant daughter of Michael John David Roberts and Malonda Lynn Young Roberts, of 1372 Cedar Pines Lake Road died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. W.C. Wallace and George W. Roberts II officiating.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her maternal grandmother, Sherry Kelper, and maternal stepgrandfather, Joseph Kelper of Warren, Mich.; her maternal grandfather, Kenny Young, and maternal stepgrandmother, Sandy Young of St. Clair Shore, Mich.; her paternal grandfather, Mike Roberts of Manchester, Ky.; her maternal great-grandmother, Nora Lee Roberts of Manchester, Ky.; her maternal great-grandfather, Ronald Bell, and maternal great-grandmother, Florence Bell of Mt. Plymouth, Mich.; and her paternal great-great-grandmother, Mollie Grey of Manchester, Mich.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.

Margaret Stroud

GREER - Margaret McQueen Stroud, 84, of 416 Jones Ave. died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Allen Benett Hospital.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, with the Rev. Grover Timms officiating.

A native of Spartanburg County, Mrs. Stroud was a daughter of the late John Carter McQueen and Rosa Crow McQueen. She was retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing Company. She was a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church and was involved in Greer Community Ministries.

Surviving are her brother, John Carter McQueen of Rock Hill; and her sister, Sue McQueen Lane of Greer.

The family will receive friends after the graveside service.

Memorials may be made to Fulton Presbyterian Church building fund, 1028 Abner Creek Road, Greer, SC 29651 or to Greer Community Ministries, P.O. Box 1373, Greer, SC 29652.

William White Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. William C. White Sr., 79, of 258 E. White St. died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mark T. Verdery officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m. prior to the church service.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. White was a son of the late Hiram Hutchison White Sr. and Martha Jane Adams White. Mr. White was a retired land surveyor. He was a charter member of South Carolina Land Surveyors Association and a member of the Tri-County Land Surveyors Association. He received his civil engineering degree from Clemson University in 1942. A former member of the Rock Hill Kiwanis Club, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and sang in the choir.

Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Nickles White; his two sons, William C. "Bill" White Jr. of Rock Hill and George A. White of Greensboro, N.C.; his daughter, Martha W. Keen of Rock Hill; his bother, Hiram H. White Jr. of Cheraw; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church building fund, 234 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to a charity of one's choice.

Louise Whisonant

CHESTER - Mrs. Louise Horton Whisonant, 75, of 127 Murrah Drive died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Catawba Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Huddleston officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Whisonant was a daughter of the late Leonard Massey Horton and Martha Dunn Horton. She was the widow of William H. "Bill" Whisonant.

Mrs. Whisonant retired from Aragon Mills after 20 years and had also worked at Lance Inc., Rock Hill Printing and Finishing and the Arcade Mill. She was a member of Catawba Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Randy H. Whisonant of Rock Hill; her brother, Ernest Horton of Rock Hill; her sister, Loraine Horton Barnette of Norcross, Ga.; two stepsisters, Lib Hinson and Jenny Day, both of Great Falls; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home of her son, 1421 Yorkdale Drive, Rock Hill.

Carol Graham

CHESTER - Mrs. Carol Kirkpatrick Graham, 29, of 701 Charity Road died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sandy River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Taylor officiating and the Revs. George Lowry Jr., Earl Stringfellow, C.J. Stringfellow and J.K. Stringfellow assisting. Burial will be at Christian Home Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Newark, N.J., Mrs. Graham was a daughter of Jimmie Kirkpatrick Sr. and Lillie Mae Doctor Kirkpatrick of Chester. She was a member of Sandy River Baptist Church and former member of Christian Home Baptist Church. She was a 1998 graduate of Chester High School and was employed by Frito Lay in Charlotte.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Tee Ward Graham of Lockhart; her son, Jimmie Kirkpatrick Jr. of the home; her daughter, Talatha Graham of the home; her brother, Kevin Kirkpatrick of Townsend, Ga.; two sisters, Lucinda Doctor of Knoxville, Tenn., and Elaine Martin of Winnsboro; her paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Theodore and Earnestine Douglas, of Columbus, Ohio; and her paternal grandmother, Carrie Kirkpatrick of East Orange, N.J.

The family will receive friends at the home of her parents, 691 Charity Road in Lowrys.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Aaron Sloan

CLOVER - Mr. Aaron Eugene Sloan, 69, of 824 S. Beersheba Road died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bratton Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. James Correll officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Mr. Sloan was a son of the late Sion Sloan and Lula Sloan. He was a retired truck driver for Over Night Trucking Co. and was a member of Church of Christ in Charlotte.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Gilliam Sloan; his stepdaughter Brenda McKinney of Clover; and his grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Bellzoro Sanders

BALTIMORE - Ms. Bellzoro Sanders of Baltimore, formerly of Chester, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at the Noble House Nursing Home.

The family will receive friends at the home of her sisters, Annie Mae Sanders and Canzadia White, 905-A Elm Road in Lowrys.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

Norma Murdock

YORK - Mrs. Norma Jean Meeks Murdock, 48, of 1680 Moss Creek Road died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at New Home AME Zion Church, with Dr. C.J. Jen-kins officiating and the Rev. Darial Jackson assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of York, she was a daughter of Ianthia Meek Crawford Neville and the late James Crawford.

Mrs. Murdock was a member of New Home AME Zion Church, where she was a member of the inspirational choir and the Willing Workers Club. She was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Columbia College in Columbia. She served in the U.S. Air Force. She was a sales representative for Wal-Mart of York.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her stepfather, Leo Neville of York; two daughters, Natasha D. Murdock of Raleigh, N.C., and Melissa D. Murdock of Greensboro, N.C.; three sisters, Freida L. Thomas of Washington, D.C., Barbara A. Taylor of Junction City, Kan., and Phyllis E. Crawford of Rock Hill; her brother, James F. Crawford of Washington, D.C.; and her maternal grandmother, Annie B. Meeks of York.

The family will receive friends at the home of her grandmother, 230 California St.

The body may be viewed from 5 to 8 today at Wright Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Louise Odom

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Louise Wilson Odom, 77, of 509 Gladstone Court died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home Rock Hill Chapel, with the Revs. Dr. W. Timothy McClendon and Lee Bryant officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont, N.C.

A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Odom was a daughter of the late Arthur Bernard Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Hughes Wilson. She was the widow of Bill Odom.

She was retired from the city of Rock Hill, was a volunteer at Piedmont Medical Center and was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her son, Wilson Myers of Rock Hill; two daughters, Marilyn Wilbanks of Fort Mill and Win King of Rock Hill; her sister, Nancy Wilson Hunter of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home Rock Hill Chapel and other times at the home of Win King, 509 Gladstone Court.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Kittrell Center Suite 205, Columbia, SC 29260; or to Piedmont Medical Center Hospital Volunteer Services, 222 S. Herlong Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Alexander Ratchford

ROCK HILL - Mr. Alexander Ratchford, 85, of Rock Hill died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Montgomery officiating. The Rev. Selena Erby will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Ratchford was a son of the late William Robert Ratchford and Ella Ratchford. He attended York County public schools and was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was employed at Arcade Cotton Mills as a boiler room attendant and later at Rock Hill school district.

Surviving are four daughters, Hatie Mae Carter of Charlotte, Vivian Robinson and Odessa R. Poage, both of Rock Hill, and Deloris Ratchford of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren who he reared, Charmya Robinson and Thomas White; eight other grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Vivian Robinson, 853 Finley Court.

Charles Turner Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Charles W. "Chuck" Turner Jr., 44, of Magnolia Manor died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Dr. William Pender and Susan Denne officiating. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Turner was a son of Laura Sossamon Turner of Rock Hill and the late Charles W. Turner Sr. He attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Winthrop College. He was a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Frank Turner and Scott Turner of Rock Hill; and his sister, Laura Jumper of Winston-Salem, N.C.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 788 Bridgewood Drive, Rock Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, 421 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 27930 or Small Fry Gang Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 71, Gaffney, SC 29342.

Jesse Wilson

FORT MILL - Mr. Jesse Law-rence Wilson, 80, of 7710 Green Pond Road, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Belair United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Steve McCormick and Joe Tysinger officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Robert M. Wilson and Beulah Lee Griffin Wilson. He was the widower of Aronia Dorman Wilson.

He attended Clemson A&M and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Celanese Corp. after 35 years. He was a lifetime member of Belair United Methodist Church. For 30 years, Mr. Wilson served as Scout Master for Troop 275 at Belair United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, James Wilson and Norman Wilson, both of Indian Land, and Darwin Wilson of Spartanburg; his daughter, Denise Murphy of Indian Land; four brothers, Robert Wilson, Douglas Wilson, Olin Wilson and Luther Wilson, all of Indian Land; three sisters, Nancy Tillman and Helen Davis, both of Indian Land and Elizabeth Brown of Monroe, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home of Denise Murphy, 266 Murphy Drive.

Memorials may be made to Belair United Methodist Church, 8095 Shelly Mullis Road, Indian Land, SC 29715.
