W. Milton Moore

LANCASTER - Mr. W. Milton Moore, 55, of 2079 Somervale Court N.E., Atlanta, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Bert Welch officiating.

A native of Mt. Airy, N.C., Mr. Moore was a son of the late Willard Moore Sr. and Lillian Ryan Moore. He was a retired engineer for Gastonia Power Co. He gave assistance to the Atlanta Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society. He participated in Happytails, a pet therapy program.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Funderburk Moore; and his sister, Gertrude Moore of Asheville, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Atlanta Food Bank, 970 Jefferson St. N.W., Atlanta, GA 30318.

Hubert Reid

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Ms. Hubert Reid, 72, formerly of Fairfield County, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with the Rev. Robert Coleman officiating. Eulogy will conducted by the Rev. Moses Lightner. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Ms. Reid was a daughter of the late Ross Reid and Maggie Whitlock Reid. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She attended public schools of Fairfield County. She was a retired domestic worker.

Surviving are two brothers, Robert Reid and David Reid, both of Brooklyn; two sisters, Dorothy Reid and Pearl Reid, both of Brooklyn.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until the service.

Eric Roseborough

DENVER - Mr. Eric Andrew Stewart Roseborough, formerly of York, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at White Hill AME Zion Church in York, with the Rev. W.O. Thompson officiating.

Mr. Roseborough was a son of Joe Ann Starnes and the late Willie James Roseborough. He was a stepson of the late Samuel Starnes Jr. He attended St. Margaret Catholic High School and Morris County College in Morristown, N.J. He attended Colorado Institute in Denver. He was a post office manager in Denver

Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Darrell J. Roseborough of Asheville, N.C., and Michael J. Roseborough of York; and his sister, Shontyia A. Starnes of York.

Wright Funeral Home in York is in charge.

Michael Thomason

RICHBURG - Mr. Michael Roy Thomason, 18, of 1904 Old Mill Road died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

The funeral will will 3 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Kemp officiating. Burial will be at Lockhart Cemetery.

A native of Union, Mr. Thomason was a son of Roy Thomason of Richburg and Virginia Faye Revis Dawkins of Buffalo. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Southeastern Industrial of Rock Hill.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepmother, Linda Thomason of Richburg; his stepfather, Gene Dawkins of Buffalo; his son, Dylan Matthew Thomason of Union; his brother, Kelly Thomason of Union; his sister, Linda Neese of Union; three stepbrothers, Jason Katzenstein of Highland, N.Y., and Adam Katzenstein and Robbie Katzenstein, both of Georgia; his stepsister, Tina Dawkins of Jonesville; and his maternal grandparents, James Patrick and Alice Patrick, both of Lockhart.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Holcombe Funeral Home, and other times at the home and the home of his sister, Linda Nies, 408 Meansville Road, Lot No. 14, Union and at the home of his father, Roy Thomason, 1904 Old Mill Road, Richburg.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Saturday until the service.

Elizabeth Bowler

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elizabeth Clark Bowler, 90, of 768 Patriot Parkway, Apt. 101 died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Upperville United Methodist Church in Upperville, Va., with the Rev. Wadesworth officiating.

A native of Trigg County, Ky., Mrs. Bowler was a daughter of the late Robert Hays and Mary Wilmoth Hays. She was the widow of Frank Bowler. She was of the Methodist faith. She was an insurance supervisor at Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Va.

Surviving are her brother, Charles Clark of Hopkins, Ky.; two grandchildren; and six great - grandchildren.

Greene Funeral Home is in charge.

Columbus Burris

YORK - Mr. Columbus Quinthel Burris, 32, of 185 Brown Neal Road died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.

A native of York, Mr. Burris was a son of Columbus Walker Burris and Maggie Ruth Cranford Burris, both of Sharon. He was a self - employed restaurant and nightclub operator. He graduated from York Comprehensive High School and was an associate at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Shamva Brown Burris; seven daughters, Ishida A. Burris of the home, Bironda V. Burris and Dirfonda R. Burris, both of York, Delilah V. Young and La'Tonya S. Burris, both of Charlotte, Sharine E. Burris of Sharon and Carolyn N. Huey of Rock Hill; four brothers, Samuel Walker Burris of Shelby, N.C., Manuel Abe Burris of Sharon, and Sherman Wade Burris and Titus Noble Burris, both of the home.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and will be placed in Kingdom Hall at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Myra Bryant

FORT MILL - Mrs. Myra Belle Kimbrell Bryant, 89, of Kimbrell Road died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Beverly Health Care Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Doby's Bridge Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Edgar McCall and James McGill officiating. Burial will be at Banks Presbyterian Church in Marvin, N.C.

A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Bryant was a daughter of the late W. J. Kimbrell and Minnie Hawfield Kimbrell. She was the widow of Ralph G. Bryant Jr. She attended Montreat College. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Doby's Bridge Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph G. Bryant III and Henry Bryant, both of Fort Mill; two daughters, Betty Anne Bryant Jackson of Fort Mill and Kathy Bryant Hill of Denver, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Doby's Bridge Presbyterian Church and other times at her daughter's home, Betty Anne Jackson, Kimbrell Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Agesilaos Demas

charlotte - Mr. Agesilaos Pete Demas, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, with the Revs. George Daskalakis and Tommy Vlahos officiating.

The Trisagion will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington at 1111 East Blvd.

A native of Karyae, Lakonias, Greece, Mr. Demas was a son of the late Panagiotis and Vasiliki Gitas Demas. He served in the Greek Army from 1935 to 1950. He was owner and operator of Pete's Snack Bar in Rock Hill until retirement. He was active in his church.

Surviving are his wife, Panagiota Demas; his son, Pete Demas of Charlotte; four daughters, Maria Billias of Athens, Greece, Bessie Demas and Tula Pappas, both of Charlotte, and Marina Koutroulakis of Atlanta; his sister, Efthemia Poulos of Chester; nine grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Cathedral Foundation, 600 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.

Robert Dugan

TEGA CAY - Mr. Robert L. Dugan, 51, of 2034 Manila Bay Lane died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Mercy Hospital South in Charlotte.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Corky Spitler officiating.

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Mr. Dugan was a son of J. Robert Dugan and Evelyn Shultz Dugan, both of Harrisburg. He was director of exports for INA Bearing Co. of Fort Mill. He was a member of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, where he was a member of the hand bell choir. He was a member of Tega Cay Lions Club, where he was a past president and former zone chairman. He spoke five languages. He was a member of the Fortnightly Stamp Club and Charlotte Philatelic Society.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Elizabeth Rogers Dugan; his daughter, Elizabeth Rose Dugan of the home; and his sister, Carol A. Wilson of Glen Gardner, N.J.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service.

Joyce Luke

CHARLOTTE - Ms. Joyce Arnetta Luke, formerly of Sharon, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Greater Galilee Baptist Church in Charlotte, with the Rev. Warren McKissick officiating. Burial will be at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery No. 1 in Sharon.

A native of Charlotte, Ms. Luke was a daughter of Christine Gill Luke and the late James Thomas Luke of Charlotte. She graduated from South Mecklenburg High School and worked for Southminster Retirement Community.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two brothers, Thomas Lovette Luke and Gary Luke, both of Charlotte; and her companion, Fred Archie of Charlotte.

The body will be carried to the church at noon today.

Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge.
