Eugene Crawford

CATAWBA - Mr. Eugene Crawford, 85, of 1920 Canal Road died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Shuler officiating and the Rev. James A. Hayes assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The body may be viewed at the church one hour before the funeral.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Crawford was the son of the late Robert Crawford Sr. and Katie Clifton Crawford. He was the widower of Estelle Ferguson Crawford. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee, finance steward, sexton, former usher and choir member. He attended the public schools of Chester County.

Surviving are two brothers, Robert Crawford Jr. of Catawba and Orie L. Crawford of Rock Hill; and four sisters, Lena Tidwell of Richburg, Dorothy Douglas of Catawba, Effie Jean Cherry of Rock Hill and Lucille Crawford of Washington, D.C.

The family will receive friends at the home of Robert and Miriam Crawford, 1898 Canal Road, Catawba.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge.

William Eubanks

LANCASTER - Mr. William John Eubanks, 56, of 2885 Oakland Drive died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday at Lynwood United Memorial Church, with the Rev. Tony Adams officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Eubanks was a son of Emma Jane Sullivan Eubanks of Lancaster and the late Shelly Eubanks. He was of the Methodist faith, and he was the owner of P - J Sales.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Patricia "Pat" Causey Eubanks of the home; one son, Steve Eubanks of Lancaster; two daughters, Pam Timms of Chester and Monica Eubanks of the home; and one brother, Robert Eubanks of Kershaw.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Lynwood United Methodist Church, 1753 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.

John Jackson

WELLFORD - John David Jackson, 55, of 108 Padgett Court died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A memorial will be 2 p.m. Monday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg.

A native of York County, Mr. Jackson was a son of Margie Valentine Wallace of Rock Hill and the late John Dillard Jackson.

Surviving in addition to his mother are three sons, John David Jackson II and Joel Dexter Jackson, both of Spartanburg, and Jason Dwayne Jackson of Wellford; two brothers, Bill Jackson of Columbia and Robert Jackson of Maryland; two sisters, Reba Folsom of Florida and Wanda Smith of Mooresboro, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Woodrow Orr

RICHBURG - Mr. Woodrow Wilson Orr, 84, of 1579 Mountain Gap Road died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Union Cemetery, with the Revs. Della Sparks and Linda Jenkens officiating.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Orr was a son of the late William Thomas Orr and Annie Aycock Orr. He retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Co. with 47 years service. He attended Chester County Schools. He was a member of Richburg United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Lois Campbell of Richburg; one sister, Mary Orr Freeman of Chester; and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Barron Funeral Home.

William Self

ROCK HILL - Mr. William Raleigh Self, 89, of 1364 Aragon Beach Road died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Lakewood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Shannon Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Self was a son of the late William Seaborn Self and Janie Allie Hopkins Self. He was the widower of Bertha Campbell Self and Ella Inez Jordan. He was a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a Sunday school superintendent, a Sunday school teacher of the men's Bible class and lay speaker for area Baptist churches. He was a a former member of Rock Hill Lions Club. He retired from J.P. Stevens Industrial Plant as weave room supervisor.

Surviving are four sons, Donnie Self of College Station, Texas, and David Self, Glen Self and Jerry Self, all of Rock Hill; two daughters, Frances S. Mynatt of Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Peggy S. Brazil of Rock Hill; one brother, L.V. Self of Great Falls; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home of Jerry and Susan Parrish, 1388 Aragon Beach Road.

Wade Baker

LANCASTER - Mr. Wade Hampton Baker, 86, of 2424 Douglas Road died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Douglas Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Peebles officiating. Burial, with Masonic rites by Hart Lodge No. 380, will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mr. Baker was a son of the late George Washington Baker and Lucy Morris Baker.

Mr. Baker was a member of Hart Lodge No. 380 AFM and Douglas Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the men's Bible class and the Men's Organization.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth McDow Baker; his daughter, Christine Elizabeth Baker of Lancaster; four brothers, Harry Baker of Charlotte, James Baker of Memphis, Tenn., and Jay Morris Baker and William "Bill" Baker, both of Lancaster; and two sisters, Florence Mae Brannen of Great Falls and Esther Kay of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the service.

CHESTER - "Mrs. Audrey Marie Deyo, 71, of 952 B. Mountain Lakes Road died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating.

A native of Harpersville, N.Y., Mrs. Deyo was a daughter of the late Leonard Smith and Marie Clark Smith. She was employed with the Bendix Corp.

Surviving are her daughter, Diane Arnold of McConnells; her son, Calvin Porter of Chester; her stepson, Tommy Cato of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and her companion, Howard Cato of Chester.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:40 p.m. today at Wright's Home For Funerals.

Pearl Gibson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Pearl Huntsinger Gibson, 80, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. George Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Arcadia, Mrs. Gibson was a daughter of the late Lee O. Huntsinger and Lucy Brown Huntsinger.

Mrs. Gibson was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Hoechst Celanese Corp. coning department.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Gibson of Mississippi and John D. Gibson of Rock Hill; two daughters, Lana G. Huddleston and Carolyn G. Amerson, both of Rock Hill; her brother, Lee O. Huntsinger Jr. of Rock Hill; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel and other times at the home of Lana Hud - dleston, 435 Eden Oak Drive.

Clara Hasty

ROCK HILL - "Mrs. Clara Rodgers Green Hasty, 102, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Hasty was a daughter of the late Lee Henry Rodgers and Martha Richardson Rodgers. She was the oldest member of Eastside Baptist Church as was a member of the American Legion Post auxiliary. She was the oldest Gold Star mother in South Carolina and worked at Highland Park Mills.

Surviving are two sons, Jack Green of Rock Hill and Charles H. Green of York; two daughters, Lila H. Barr of Charlotte and Inez H. Batts of Fort Mill; her sister, Reba R. Phillips of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Wilma Lemonds

CHARLOTTE" - Mrs. Wilma Gordon Lemonds, 67, of Charlotte died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000 at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Jim Weekley and Bel Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Lemonds was a daughter of Allen Vance Gordon and Lucretia Elvira Wilson Gordon. She was the widow of A.W. Lemonds Jr.

Surviving are his son, Gerald Lemonds of Charlotte; three daughters, Gina Ludlam of Rock Hill, and Judy Clewis and Patricia Howie, both of Charlotte; her sister, Mary Horne of Waxhaw, N.C.; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Mary Horne.
