William Wilson

ROCK HILL - William Mason Edward Wilson, 3 - month old son of William Mason Wilson and Lauri Lewis Wilson, of 1307 Saluda St., Lot 13, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grandview Memorial Park, with Father William Pentis officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late William Mason Wilson and Lauri Lewis Wilson.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Esther Laura Elizabeth Wilson of the home; his maternal grandparents, Drew Lewis and Georganna Lewis, both of Rock Hill; his paternal grandparents, Eddie Anderson and Karen Anderson, both of Oak Hill, W.Va.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, and other times at the home of his maternal grandparents, 715 S. Jones Ave.

Thomas Senney

FORT MILL - Mr. Thomas E. Senney, 80, of 2919 Peachwood Court died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at Pied - mont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lifespring Ministries Church, 13733 Lancaster Highway, Pineville, N.C., with Pastor Randall Worley officiating. A reception will follow the service.

A native of Cleveland, Mr. Senney was a son of the late Louis Senney and Anna Goetz Senney. He was a retired engineer and a member of Lifespring Ministries.

Surviving are his wife, June Senney; three daughters, Kathy Schoch of Sacramento, Calif., Gayle Martin of Nashville, Tenn., and Faye Boslett of Brunswick, Ohio; his brother, Walter Senney of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; five grandchildren; and four great - grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Covenant Prison Ministries, Eagle Fellowship, P.O. Box 550, Monroe, NC 28111.

Wolfe Funeral Home is in charge.

Willie Bagley

CHESTER - Mr. Willie Bagley, 87, of 156 Stadium Drive died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Browns Chapel AME Zion Church in Lowrys, with the Rev. O.L. Smith officiating and the Rev. Dr. W.G. Boulware assisting. The eulogy will be conducted by the Rev. Terrance Grooms. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mr. Bagley was a son of the late Thomas Bagley and Ella B. Caldwell Bagley. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, choir leader and grand president of the prayer band. He was a retired truck driver at Springs Industries, a Mason and a U.S. Army veteran. He was manager of the former Stars of Bethlehem Singers of Chester. He was a member of the American Legion and the NAACP of Chester.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Hill Bagley; five sons, Robert Spears, Willie Hill, Michael Hill and Russell Worthy, all of Chester, and Bobby Gist of Cleveland; nine daughters, Willie Mae Gladney of Winnsboro, Diane Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y., Elnora Hill, Tracy H. Hicks, Geraldine Hill, Joyce V. Hill and Sarah L. Hill, all of Chester, Nancy L. Stevenson of Atlanta and Loretta Sposato of Rock Hill; four brothers, Alexander Bagley of Baltimore, Leroy Bagley of East Orange, N.J., and Joseph Bagley and James "Jimmy" Bagley of Chester; his sister; Shirley B. Sims of Baltimore; several grandchildren; and several great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., with Masonic Rites, and at other times at the home.

The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kings Funeral Home.

Louise Franklin

BRONX, N.Y. - Mrs. Louise R. Franklin, 94, of 300 E. 138th St. Apt. 7 - H, formerly of Chester, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Pratt officiating and assisted by the Rev. E. E. Vance and Evangelist Evelyn Pratt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Franklin was a daughter of the late William Franklin and Daisy Dorsey Franklin. She was the oldest member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was historian of the church. She organized the hymn choir.

Surviving are her two caregivers, Clara Rhinehart of Chester and O'Neal Rhinehart of Rock Hill; and one God - niece, Betty Woods of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends at the home of Clara Rhinehart, 579 Darby Road, Chester.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The body will be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

William Funderburk

NEWBERRY - Mr. William Albert "Al" Funderburk, 80, of 2209 Evans Circle died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Richard Campbell Nursing Home in Anderson.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Mausoleum Chapel, with Dr. Kenneth Harmon and Edward Ellis officiating. Entombment will be at Heritage Mausoleum.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Funderburk was a son of the late George Thomas and Hester McClain Funderburk. He graduated from Kings Business College, Charlotte. He retired from Kendall Co., and was a member of First Baptist Church of Newberry. He was a member of the Newberry Lion's Club. He was a World War II Army veteran of the 13th Armored Division.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Duncan; three sons, Ray Felmet of Rock Hill, Tommy Funderburk of Malibu, Calif., Dr. William A. "Bill" Funderburk, Jr. of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Jessie F. Ayers and Helen F. Welsh of Rock Hill; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at home in Newberry and after the service.

Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel is in charge.

Roosevelt Harris

FORT MILL - Mr. Roosevelt Harris of 22 Rea Circle died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at home.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Bonnie Passmore

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Bonnie Elizabeth Messer Beckler Passmore, 79, of 280 Pleazer Road died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A native of Greenville, Mrs. Passmore was a daughter of the late William Messer and Orphradale Lindsay Messer. She was the widow of William Arthur Beckler and Matthew Passmore.

Surviving are five sons, Charles Beckler of Norwood, N.C., Joey Beckler, Lynn Beckler, Sonny Beckler and Marcus Hicklin, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Katie Carter of Greenville, Ruth Marthers of Columbia, Peggy Tyner of Gillsville, Ga.; two sisters, Orphradale Dempsey and Lona Dill, both of Greenville; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great - grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at home.

Michael Roof

ROCK HILL - Mr. Michael Eugene Roof, 46, at 3057 Cherry Road died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Bill Poore officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.

A native of Chester County, Mr. Roof was a son of Joe Roof and Roxie "Dillinger" Roof Williams. He was a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken. He attended York County Schools.

Surviving are two brothers, Jerry Roof of Lancaster and Richard Roof of Rock Hill; his step - brother, Johnny Williams of Whiteman Air Force Base in Colorado.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Gladys Scarce

DANVILLE, Va. - Mrs. Gladys Mae Bradley Scarce, 92, formerly of Keen St., died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.

The funeral was 2 p.m. Sunday at Wrenn - Yeatts North Main Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Burial was at Highland Burial Park.

A native of Sandy Level, Va., Mrs. Scarce was a daughter of John Henry Bradley and Essie Lee Mahan Bradley. She was the widow of Oscar Nathan Scarce. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Keen Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of Dorcas Class and the Young at Heart Club.

Surviving are four daughters, Barbara S. Humphries and Shirley S. Elliott, both of Danville, Betty S. Fox of Hickory, N.C., and Patsy S. Swicegood of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and seven great - great - grandchildren.

Wrenn - Yeatts Funeral Home was in charge.

Kenneth Vance

ROCK HILL - Mr. Kenneth A. "Butch Raymond" Vance, 52, of 1226 Crawford Road died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Mount Olivet A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Sherman McBeth officiating and assisted by the Revs. B.R. Wilson, Lourenia Pride and Vaessa McVay. The eulogy will be given by the Rev. B.R. Wilson. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Vance was the son of the late O'Daniel Vance and Princess Lytle Vance. He attended Emmett Scott High School. He worked for Darby & Sons Well Drilling.

Surviving are his son, Randall Keith Isom of York; four brothers, Michael O. Vance of Valley, Calif., Ronald D. Vance and Stephen "Tony" Vance, both of Rock Hill, and Todd Vance of the home; three sisters, Danice O. Vance and Carrietta Stinson, both of Rock Hill, and Tami V. Byers of Fort Mill; his special friend, Patricia Adams of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at Clemons Funeral Home.

The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Terri Ward

LANCASTER - Ms. Terri Phillips Ward, 49, of 2320 Morning Side Drive, formerly of Columbia, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. James D. Spencer III officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Ms. Ward was a daughter of Thomas A. Phillips of Lancaster and the late Grace Threatt Phillips. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was a member of South Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and served in various offices as well as its president. She was active in the National Council of Higher Education Loan Programs.

Surviving in addition to her father are two sisters, Donna Anderson Parsons of Lancaster and Becky Phillips Outen of Lancaster.

The family will receive at the home of her father, Thomas A. Phillips, 1572 Camp Drive, Lancaster.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Association of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 1142 Lancaster, SC 29721.
