Donald Bailey Sr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Donald Lee Bailey Sr., 46, of 1472 Aragon Beach Road died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Revs. Bruce Craig and Allen Brigman officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Long Beach, Calif., Mr. Bailey was a son of the late John T. Bailey. He retired from Duke Energy after 22 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid raccoon hunter and a member of the Rocky Creek Coon Hunting Club and York County Coon Hunter Association.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa C. Bailey; two sons, Donald "Don" L. Bailey and Nicholas Bailey, both of the home; two brothers, Larry Bailey of Lesslie and Billy Bailey of Rock Hill; three sisters, Sissy Sweatt of Fort Mill and Linda Gallman and Brenda Laney, both of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

H.V. Morgan

LANCASTER - Staff Sgt. H.V. "Jake" Morgan, 71, of 1651 Drywood Circle died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Gary McInvaille officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Kershaw, Mr. Morgan was a son of the late Vannie Morgan and Carmmie Holden Morgan. A Vietnam War veteran, he retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He also was a retired baker for Springs Industries Commissary.

Surviving are his wife, Claudina Gonzales Morgan; three sons, James E. Morgan of Lancaster, Kenneth Lee Morgan of Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and Michael Scott Morgan of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Mary Ann Timmons, Diana Lynn Bunton and Brenda Sue Morgan, all of Lancaster; two brothers, Billy Morgan and Roger Morgan, both of Kershaw; four sisters, Elsie Deason of Charlotte, Myrtis Holden of Kershaw, Margie Floyd of Rose Hill, N.C., and Eufalla Powers of Lancaster; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and other times at the home.

James Stevenson Sr.

LANCASTER - Mr. James L. Stevenson Sr., 76, of 1491 N. Erwin St. died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Mims Jr. officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites by Hart Lodge No. 380 will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Fairfield County, Mr. Stevenson was a son of the late George Washington Stevenson Sr. and Frances Eunice Traylor Stevenson. He was a retired employee of Springs Industries Customer Service Center and a life member of Hart Masonic Lodge No. 380. He was a World War II Army-Air Force veteran and was a member of White Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn "Kitty" Goodwin Stevenson of Lan-caster; his son, James "Jimmy" L. Stevenson Jr. of Lancaster; five daughters, Betty Jean McAteer of Kershaw, Marilyn Gledhill of Clover, Connie Ventura of Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, and Candy Pardue and Gwen Miller, both of Lancaster; two sisters, Ruth Stewart of Chester and Nina Pierce of Winnsboro; his half sister, Margaret Stevenson of Leeds; his half brother, Jerry Stevenson of Chester; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Frances Davis

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Frances George Davis, 71, of 1807 Baskin Road died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Jackie Fields officiating. Burial will be at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Catawba Ward Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Evans McClure and Pheobie Messer George. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Catawba Ward, and retired from Celanese Corp. after 30 years as a jet weaver. She was the widow of Fred Davis.

Surviving are four daughters, Doniece Bagley, Freddie Davis, Laura Mae Davis and Cindy Allen, all of Rock Hill; her adopted daughter, Robbie Land of Rock Hill; three brothers, Evan "Buck" George of Rock Hill, Laverne George of Patterson, N.J., and Donnie Ballard of California; two sisters, Jerrie Lee G. Ferrell and Mary G. Perdue, both of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home.

Joyce Wilson

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Joyce Moss Wilson, 68, of 49 Oak St. died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

A native of Spindale, N.C., Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Olin Moss and Jettie Rayburn Moss. She was a self-employed seamstress and homemaker, attended Great Falls High School and was a member of Great Falls First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, John H. Wilson; her son, James Andrews of Great Falls; her daughter, Crystal Sinitt of Baltimore; her sister, Shirley M. Osborne of Great Falls; and her brother, Charles Moss of Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of Shirley and Harvey Osborne, 3 Underwood Ave., Great Falls.

Edward Garcia

ROCK HILL - Mr. Edward Guy Garcia, 88, of 2261 Indian Trail died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Catawba Ward, with the Rev. Pieter Reynders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Sanford, Colo., Mr. Garcia was a son of the late Rufus Garcia and Abbie Patterson Garcia. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Catawba Ward and was a member of the Catawba Indian Nation, where he was a drummer and a dancer. He was the retired owner of Garcia Paint Company.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Blue Garcia, three daughters, Barbara G. Talley, Marlene G. Pittman and Michele G. Atkinson, all of Rock Hill; his brother, Elbert Garce of Smithfield, Utah; three sisters, Viola Schneider of Pueblo West, Colo., Dorothy Ong of Pueblo, Colo., and Martha Riedel of Hagerman, Idaho; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home.

Nancy Harrison

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nancy Harrison died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Harrison was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Watson White. She joined Saint Matthew AME Zion Church at a young age and later moved her membership to the Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are her daughter, Myrtle Blair of Jamaica, N.Y.; her son, William Harrison of Jamaica; her grandson; and three cousins who were her caretakers, James Barber, Annie May Barber and Anna Dixon.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Clemons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Louise Walker

GASTONIA - Mrs. Louise Lowery Walker, 83, of 707 Falls St. died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Century Care of Gastonia.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephens AME Zion Church, with Dr. Bernard Sullivan officiating.

A native of York County, Mrs. Walker was a daughter of the late William Pink Lowery and Mary Adams Lowery.

She was a member of St. Stephens AME Zion Church, where she served on the usher board as a past president. She was a retired worker in the Gaston County, N.C., school system.

Surviving are her daughter, Allene Walker Sellars of Clover; her sister, Geneva McGill of Clover; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church and other times at the home of Brown "Ray" Lowery, 125 Pam Drive, Gastonia.

Costner Funeral Home is in charge.

Frankie Belk

FORT MILL - Mrs. Frankie Mae Helms Belk, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at White Oak Manor in York.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Unity Cemetery, with the Revs. Glenn Walters and Roland Dry officiating.

A native of Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Belk was a daughter of the late Reece H. Helms and Lillie Thompson Helms. She was the widow of Jay Vann Belk. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Fort Mill Church of God.

Surviving are two sons, C. L. Belk of Gastonia, N.C., and Jerry Vann Belk of Clover; two daughters, Nancy King Dallas of Eutawville and Nell B. Varnadore of Fort Mill; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jack Varnadore, 127 Leonidas St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Bernard Blow Sr.

FORT MILL - Mr. Bernard "Shorty" Harris Blow Sr., 77, of 1406 East Highway 160 died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Dorn V.A. Hospital in Columbia.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Herron officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.

A native of Burlington, Vt., Mr. Blow was a son of the late Wilford Blow and Nina Gilligan Blow. He was the widower of Margaret Inell Mahaffey Blow. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served in the National Guard. He retired from Rexham Paper Company in 1987 and was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving is his son, Bernard H. "Pete" Blow Jr. of Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at home.

Ruby Estes

CHESTER - Mrs. Ruby Shaw Estes, 87, formerly of 525 Baton Rouge Road died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Clayton Cordell officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Baptist Church cemetery.

A native of Buffalo, Mr. Estes was a daughter of the late Jack Shaw and Lilly Vassey Shaw. She was the widow of George Washington Estes.

She retired from Springs Industries. She attended Calvary Baptist Church. She attended Union County schools.

Surviving are two sons, Homer Lee West of Union and George W. "Billy" Estes of Charleston; three daughters, Mary DuBose of Chester, Lillian Sims of Lancaster and Shirley Stainaker of Charlotte; three sisters, Elsie Barnes of Buffalo, Mary Summers of Chesney and Vanner Summers of Newberry; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.
