Lucile Draffin

LANCASTER - Mrs. Lucile M. Draffin, 83, of 401 Monroe Highway died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh ARP Church, with the Revs. David Lauten and Wayne Dickson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Draffin was a daughter of the late Robert Clyde Millen and Isabel Craig Millen. She was the widow of Leslie M. Draffin. A homemaker, she was a member of Shiloh ARP Church, Shiloh-Zion Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Nannie Cousar Circle.

Surviving are two sons, the Rev. L. Calvin Draffin of Due West and Robert A. Draffin of Lancaster; her daughter, Harriet Pipkin of Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh ARP Church building fund, 346 Shiloh Unity Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Bonnie Wright

LANCASTER - Mrs. Bonnie Couch Wright, 88, of 3499 J.B. Denton Road died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Springdell Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dr. Bill Poore and Reggie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late James Couch and Willie Jackson Couch. She was the widow of Eldon "Jim" Wright. A retired employee of Springs Industries, she was a member of Springdell Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years.

Surviving are her daughter, Billie Crenshaw of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Travis Watson

NEWPORT - Mr. Travis Sentelle Watson of 330 Clayton Ave. died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at First Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating. The Rev. C.D. Stackhouse will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Watson was a son of Willie Byers and the late Rinda Watson. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. He attended Northwestern High School.

Surviving are two brothers, Carlos Watson and Karldesmon Boozer, both of Rock Hill; his stepmother, Annette Clark; and his grandfather, Willie Roy Byers of Mooresville, N.C.

The family will receive friends at 326 Finley Square and 330 Clayton Ave.

Wilma Johnson

CHESTER - Mrs. Wilma Curbeam Johnson, 72, of 2931 Pilgrim Road, Wilksburg Community, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Chester County Nursing Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, with the Rev. Bill Stringfellow Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Mount Zion Bap-tist Church cemetery in Blackstock.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Jerry Cur-beam and Viola Simpson Curbeam Russell. She was the stepdaughter of the late Lugenia Curbeam Robinson. She was the widow of John J. Johnson. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and attended the public schools of Chester County. She was a retired supervisor of a cup factory in Maryland.

Surviving are her son, Charles Davis Jr. of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Richard Curbeam and J. C. Carter, both of Laurel, Md.; her sister, Sarah C. Liggins of Chester; her grandson whom she raised, Lionel Smith of Laurel, Md.; two other grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Audery Liggins Jr. and Sarah C. Liggins, 2931 Pilgrim Road, Wilksburg Community, in Chester.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service.

Beulah Wallace

FORT MILL - Mrs. Beulah Mae Wallace of 202 Juniper St. died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Gold Hill AME Zion Church in Van Wyck, with the Rev. Deborah Waddell officiating. Burial will be at Gold Hill AME Zion Church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Wallace was a daughter of the late Will Adams and Edna Cureton Adams. She was the widow of Mayo Wallace Jr. She was a member of Gold Hill AME Zion Church. She served on the stewardess board. She attended the public schools of Lancaster County.

Surviving are two sons, Bobby Wallace of Charlotte and Eugene Wallace of Lancaster; two daughters, Kay A. Strong and Carolyn Truesdale, both of Lancaster County; her brother, John P. Adams of Charlotte; three sisters, Annie L. Thompson of Charlotte, Alice M. Sistare and Geneva Wallace, both of Lancaster County; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Gold Hill AME Zion Church in Van Wyck.

The body will be placed in church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Fannie Gaither

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Fannie Mae Gaither of 38 Nickey Road died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at White Manor in Lancaster.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church, with Pastor Z. E. Wells officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Anderson, Mrs. Gaither was a daughter of the late Mollie Beaty Little and Robert Luvell Little. She was a member of Moriah Baptist Church and was a member of Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church. She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. She graduated from Friendship Junior College in Rock Hill and Benedict College in Columbia. She taught school in Chester, Fairfield and York counties. She was an active Eastern Star. She was president of the Missionary Circle, secretary of the Singing Band Union and was head of the Stewardess and Usher Board. She was an honored recipient of the Regional Family of the Year Award in 1991.

Surviving are her husband, Walter B. Gaither; two daughters, Glenda Jean Davis of Atlanta and Diane Gaither-Thompson of Cincinnati; three sons, Thomas W. Gaither of Slippery Rock, Pa., Herman K. Gaither of Beaufort and Edmund Barry Gaither of Boston; her brother, Frederick T. Little of Detroit; two sisters, Floride Wardlaw and Bennette Williford of Anderson; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester, and from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove AME Zion Church. The body will be placed in the church at noon Saturday.

Anne Chepesiuk

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Anne Zakrewsky Chepesiuk, 85, of 782 Wofford St., formerly of London, Ontario, Canada, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at home.

The funeral Mass will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Saint Anne Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Pierce officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

A native of Thunderbay, Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Chepesiuk was a daughter of the late Simeon Zakrewsky and Pearl Hrenchuck Zakrewsky. She was the widow of Joseph Chepesiuk. She was a retired switchboard operator at Port Arthur General Hospital in Thunderbay. She was a member of Moose Lodge in Thunderbay and was a member of St. Kasmir's Catholic Church in Thunderbay.

Surviving are three sons, Ron Chepesiuk of Rock Hill, Raymond Chepesiuk of Whitby, Ontario, and Dennis Chepesiuk of Burlington, Ontario; her daughter, Diane Chepesiuk Rucchin of London, Ontario; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the Funeral Mass at Saint Anne Catholic Church and other times at the home of her son, Ron Chepesiuk, 782 Wofford St., Rock Hill, SC.

Ralph Fulmer

LANCASTER - Mr. Ralph Baker Fulmer, 82, of 608 Normandy Road died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Revs. Needham Williamson and Sam Thomas officiating.

A native of Leesville, Mr. Fulmer was a son of the late Cohen Fulmer and Georgia Estridge Fulmer. He earned his bachelor's degree from Clemson University in 1940. He was retired from Springs Industries as a textile engineer. Mr. Fulmer was a captain in the Army and served three years in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Simmons Fulmer; his son, John Fulmer of Bethune; his daughter, Jill McIsacc of Lancaster; his sister, Elizabeth Barnes of Leesville; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 608, Lancaster, SC 29721.

Ruby Allen

CHESTER - Mrs. Ruby Moss Allen, 87, of 1220 Great Falls Road died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Beverly Health Care Hospital in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Greg Keller officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.

A native of Union County, Mrs. Allen was a daughter of the late Oscar Moss and Millie Cody Moss. She was the widow of Harvey Lee Allen Sr. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She retired from Highlander Laundry.

Surviving are three sons, K. Wayne Allen of Chester, Bobby Allen of Winnsboro and Harvey L. Allen Jr. of Liberty Lake, Wash.; her brother, Rufus Davis of Union; her sister, Grace Davis of Union; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wright's Home for Funerals.

Rosa Brown

CHESTER - Miss Rosa Anne Brown of 125 Loomis St. died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be noon today at Metropolitan AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Cordell Jenkins officiating and the Revs. O.L. Smith, W. E. Good, E. Browning and Randolph Jr. assisting. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Chester County, Miss Brown was a daughter of the late Rev. David Brown and Rosa McCullough Brown. She was a retired teacher in the Chester County school district. She was a member of Metropolitan AME Zion Church, past president of Woman's Home Mission and the Missionary Society, a deaconess, superintendent of Sunday school, trustee, Sunday school teacher and church clerk. She was formerly a trustee of Clinton Jr. College. She was a reporter of the York Chester District and a supply secretary of the Woman's Home missionary. She attended Brainerd Institute. She received a B.A. degree from South Carolina State College and a master's degree at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York. She was a member of Josephus Eastern Star Chapter 160, Prince Hall affiliation. She was a member of Robert E. White Heroiness of Jericho and Household Ruth. She was a member of Imperial Temple I.B.P.O.E. of W. daughter Elks and the Girl Scouts of America.

Surviving is her daughter, Jessie M. Gleen of the home.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body will be placed in the church from 11 a.m. today until the service.

Denton Funeral Home is in charge.
