Harry McKenzie

BLACKSTOCK - Mr. Harry J. McKenzie, 77, of 6055 Heritage Road died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Winnsboro.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Great Falls Church of God, with the Revs. C. E. Thomas, James Grant and Jerry Love officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

A native of Hampton County, Mr. McKenzie was a son of the late Henry McKenzie and Julia Priester McKenzie. He worked for J.P. Stevens and Appletree Industry. He was a member of the Great Falls Church of God. He attended schools in Hampton County and was a World War II Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Rosannah Young McKenzie; three sons, James R. McKenzie of Richburg and Gerald Y. McKenzie and Robert H. McKenzie, both of Great Falls; two daughters, Janice Baker of Fort Lawn and Julia "Becky" McKenzie of the home; his sister, Bessie Hornsby of Elgin; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Great Falls Church of God, 34 Underwood Ave., Great Falls, SC 29055.

Jonathan Mackey

CHESTER - Mr. Jonathan Mackey, 17, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ with Pastor Floyd Briggs officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mr. Mackey was a son of John Henry Mackey and Christine Mobley. He was a member of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. He attended the public schools of Chester County. He worked for the Defender Service of the Katherine Plant.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Travis Mobley of Norfolk, Va., and Master Gabriel Mobley of Chester; and four sisters, Angela Mobley of Chester, Abrilla Mackey and Laverne Mackey, both of Washington, D.C., and Carolyn Buckholtz of Buffalo, N.Y.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 113 Lincoln Court, Chester, SC, 29706.

The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road.

The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Allen Mason

FORT MILL - Mr. Allen Eugene Mason, 66, of 103 Privette St. died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, N.C., with the Revs. Jason Coley and Troop Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at West Concord Cemetery in Concord, N.C.

A native of Cabarrus County, N.C., Mr. Mason was a son of the late William Bill Mason and Annie Dulin Mason. He was a retired Baptist minister. He was a supervisor at Kayser Roth Hosiery. He was an Army veteran with 12 years service.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Mason of Fort Mill; his daughter, Betty Hedrick of Newton, N.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Susan Wachsmuth

ROCK HILL - Ms. Susan Will Wachsmuth, 52, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Herbert L. Wood Jr. officiating.

A native of Houston, Ms. Wachsmuth was a daughter of Lillian Painter Will of Rock Hill and the late William Will. She was of the Protestant faith. She was a member of the National Court Reporting Association and was a court reporter for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court for Judge Lee Alford.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her son, Bradley Wachsmuth of San Antonio, Texas; and her daughter, Kathryn "Kacey" Olerud of York.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Virginia Mitchell

CHESTER - Ms. Virginia Mitchell of 195 Ligon St. died Tues-day, Nov. 7, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road.

Ethel Payne

KERSHAW - Mrs. Ethel Greene Payne, 79, of 4270 Payne Road died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anglin and George McDowell officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Payne was a daughter of the late Johnny Greene and Nettie Faulkenberry Greene. She was a member of Charlesboro Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are seven sons, Harold J. Payne, Robert W. Payne, James E. Payne, John D. Payne, Paul Payne, George W. Payne and Ronald D. Payne, all of Kershaw; three daughters, Janice West of West Columbia and Kathy Payne and Debra Jenkins, both of Kershaw; her brother, Perry Greene of Lancaster; eight sisters, Ann Gordon of Liberty Hill, Mildred Criminger of Florence, Gladys Arant and Katheryn Madden, both of Kershaw, Jane Bowers of Lancaster, Eula Roberts of Rock Hill, Willie Mae Bowers of Camden and Shelby Criminger of Summerville; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at home.

Memorials may be made to the Haile Gold Mine Baptist Church, 7980 Haile Gold Mine Road, Ker-shaw, SC 29067.

August White

EDGEMOOR - Mrs. August B. "Sookie" White, 69, of 1819 Rambling Creek Road died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Edgemoor ARP Church, with Dr. J. Allen Derrick officiating. Burial will be at Edgemoor ARP Church cemetery.

A native of Charlotte, Mrs. White was a daughter of the late Horatio Seymour Buck and Maude Elizabeth Westerlund Buck. She retired from NationsBank with 49 years of service. She was a member of Edgemoor ARP Church and was a member of the Women of the Church.

Surviving are her husband, Davis C. White Sr.; two sons, Spike White of Richburg and John White of Edgemoor; her brother, H.S. Buck Jr. of Lilburn, Ga.; her sister, Barbara B. Westbrook of Edgemoor; five grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, and other times at the home.

Harold Auten

PLANO, Texas - Mr. Harold Shinn Auten, 76, formerly of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Collingwood Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.

A native of York County, Mr. Auten was a son of the late James Milton Auten and Lena Mae Shinn Auten. He worked for the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald Milton Auten of Fort Mill and Harold S. Auten Jr. of Lesslie; two daughters, Cynthia Rebecca Walker of Catawba and Anna Pauline Hydrick of Aiken; his stepson, Kenneth Whitworth of Plano; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at Restland Funeral Home.

Hoyle Catledge

ROCK HILL - Mr. Hoyle Clarence Catledge, 71, of 143 Ebenezer Ave. died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. today at Richburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Linda T. Jenkins officiating. Burial will be private.

A native of Jefferson, Mr. Catledge was a son of the late Herman Catledge and Sallie Hunter Catledge. He was retired after 42 years from Springs Industries in Fort Mill. He was of the Church of God faith.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Vaughn Catledge; four sons, Jimmy Catledge of the home, Leslie Catledge of Mooresville, N.C., and T. C. Catledge and Joe Catledge, both of Indian Land; his daughter, Cindy Catledge of Spartanburg; three sisters, Martha Barr of Fort Mill, Jessie Mae Small of Kershaw and Evelyn Plyler of Winnsboro; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at church.

Thelma Deese

PINEVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Thelma Lee Rollins Deese, 84, of 121 Olive St. died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Stough Memorial Baptist Church in Pineville, with the Revs. Bruce League and Steve Jacks officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Hill Cemetery in Fort Mill.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Deese was a daughter of the late Webster Hugh Rollins and Lela Jane Rogers Rollins. She was the widow of Reuben Neal Deese. A graduate of Pineville High School, she was a homemaker and a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home of Betty D. Kimbrell, 3561 Pleasant Road, Fort Mill.

Ruth Fox

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruth Parker Fox, 75, of 530 Keels Ave. died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at White Oak Manor.

A graveside service will be 3 p.m. today at Laurelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Broughton officiating.

A native of Chesterfield, Mrs. Fox was a daughter of the late Jack Andrew Parker and Clara Brock Parker. She was the widow of Newton Amzie Fox Jr. She was retired from Celanese after 30 years. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church and its Joy Group. She was a member of Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are her daughter, Jean Stephenson of Edgemoor; two brothers, Ray Parker of Lake City and Ansel Parker of Simpsonville; and her sister, Evelyn Cardin of Brooks-ville, Miss.

Memorials may be made to Chester Baptist Association Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 219, Richburg, SC 29729-0219.

Louis Hall

ROCK HILL - Mr. Louis Hall of 718 Ogden Road died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at United House of Prayer For All People, with Apostle F. Gibson officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Hall was a son of the late Elliot Hall and Pearl Hall. He was the widower of Esther Moore Hall. He was retired from the Celanese plant in Rock Hill.

Surviving are two sons, J.C. Hall and Willie L. Hall, both of Charlotte; four daughters, Isbella McCullough, Kattie McCullough and Rosa Mae Watts, all of Rock Hill, and Doris H. Weathers of Lancaster; 27 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Bessie Ghent

LANCASTER - Mrs. Bessie Scott Ghent, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.

A native of Camden, Mrs. Ghent was a daughter of the late Napoleon Scott and Lizzy S. Scott. She was the widow of William "Bill" Ghent.

Surviving are four sons, Cecil Ghent, Donald Ghent and Jimmy Ghent, all of Lancaster, and Billy "Sonny" Ghent of Gastonia, N.C.; four daughters, Linda Sims and Mary Faulkenberry, both of Lancaster, Ruth Norris of Dallas, N.C., and Dorothy Brazell of Newport, Tenn.; her sister, Rosalee Haynes of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and other times at the home of Cecil Ghent, 1125 Laurel Ave., Lancaster.
