Kenneth Glasscock Jr.
LANCASTER - Mr. Kenneth Loraine Glasscock Jr., 71, of 1317 Memorial Drive died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Mullis officiating.
A native of York County, Mr. Glasscock was the son of Grace Williams Glasscock and the late Kenneth Loraine Glasscock Sr. He was a graduate of Fort Lawn High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a former employee of Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company. He was the widower of Julia Funderburk Glasscock.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Mary Grace Bond of Orangeburg and Kathryne G. Hooper of the Landsford Community.
The family will receive friends after the service.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Truman Tillman
LANCASTER - Mr. Truman Tillman, 82, of 519 Central Ave. died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Jefferson, Ga., Mr. Tillman was a son of the late Prince Albert Tillman Sr. and Ethel Hollis Tillman. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church, the Hart Masonic Lodge no. 380 and Eastern Star Chapter no. 146. He was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout leader and R.A. leader. He was the widower of Ruth Ballard Tillman.
Surviving is his second wife, Edna Caskey Tillman; three sons, the Rev. Donald W. Tillman, Gerald R. Tillman, of Charlotte and Charles H. Tillman of Bossier City, La.; his brother, T.W. Tillman of Columbia; two sisters, Lois Ghent of Marshall, Texas, and Birdie Hudson of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at the home.

James Tucker
ROCK HILL - Mr. James L. Tucker, of 616 Simpson St. died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000 at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of God of Prophecy, with Bishop Roosevelt Ashford officiating and the Revs. Michael Roseboro and Barbara Roseboro assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Tucker was a son of the late Eddie Tucker and Gracie Boulware Tucker. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and attended public schools of Kershaw County. He was the widower of Leola Tucker.
Surviving are his son, Lovanda Tucker; seven daughters, Virginia Simpson of Columbia, Johnnie Mae Massey, Ruth Perry and Bernice Bryant, all of Charlotte, Mary Jones and Shirley Tucker, both of Cincinnati, and the Rev. Barbara Roseboro of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Annie Bell Anderson and Cherry Cornelius, both of Columbia; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home. The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home.

William Dillion
KERSHAW - Mr. William Arthur Dillion, 90, of 4540 Copper Road, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Oakhurst Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Rodgers officiating. Burial will be at church cemetery.
A native of Statesville, N.C., Mr. Dillion was a son of the late Arthur Madison and Sarah Reid Dillion. A member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, he was retired from Springs Industries.
Surviving are two sisters, Betty D. Faulkenberry and Mary D. Williams, both of Kershaw; and his granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mary D. Williams, 4540 Copper Road, Kershaw.
Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, is in charge.

John Manning
CLOVER - Mr. John Carson Manning, 39, of 1641 Dulin Road died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Old Path Holiness Church in Bowling Green. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
A native of York County, Mr. Manning was a son of the late Mandy Dover Manning and Glenn Carson Manning.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Biggs Manning of Gaffney; his son, John David Manning of Gaffney; and two daughters, Crystal Leah Nichole Manning and Jessica Amanda Manning, both of Gaffney.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

GREENVILLE - Mr. James P. Simpson Jr., 52, of 106 Melbourne Lane died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at S.C. Franks Chapel of Remembrance. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Simpson was employed with Rohm & Haas Chemical Company and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Winifred Simpson; his son, James Simpson III of Spartanburg; two daughters, Elizabeth Rasberry of Stone Mountain, Ga., and April Simpson of the home; and six sisters, Anna Pegram of Pomfret, Md., Mary Simpson of Washington, D.C., Barbara Simpson of Largo, Md., Rosalyn Miller of Minneapolis, Linda Graham of Kannapolis, N.C., and Brenda Simpson of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service at S.C. Franks Chapel of Remembrance.

Vera Baker
KERSHAW - Mrs. Vera Phillips Baker, 75, of 1058 Jones Road died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Morris officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Baker was a daughter of the late Bogan Phillips and Maude Vincent Phillips. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where she was a member of the adult women's Sunday school class. Retired from Springs Industries, Mrs. Baker was a member of Kershaw Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Dock Baker; her son, Donnie Baker of Kershaw; two daughters, Wanda B. Sowell of Lancaster and Deborah Ann Baker of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters, Grace McIlvaille of Kershaw and Ruth Small of Great Falls; her half-brother, L. T. Payne of Great Falls; her half-sister, Annie Bell Stallings of Fort Mill; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at the home of Donnie Baker, 3-5 E. Church St., Kershaw.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruth Boseman Bennett, 61, of 480 Arch Drive died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wed-nesday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. A. Johnson officiating and Pastor Brooks assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of McConnells, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of the late Matthew Boseman and Sallie Latta Boseman. She joined Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of Victory Christian Center in Charlotte.
Surviving are her son, Wayne Bennett of Rock Hill; three daughters, Patricia Bennett, Yvonne Free-man and Andrea McCoy, all of Rock Hill; her brother, Willie Boseman of McConnells; her sister, Mozell B. Darby of York; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body may be viewed from
5 to 7 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in York. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

HARTFORD, Conn. - Mr. Ulysess Heath, 60, formerly of Chester, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Saint Francis Hospital.
Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Homer Humphreys
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Homer Lee Humphreys, 79, formerly of Rock Hill, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Humphreys was a son of the late George Butler Humphreys and Dora Frances Pittman Humphreys. He was a loader for Celanese Corp., with more than 30 years service.
Surviving are his son, Dean Humphreys of Rock Hill; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Carolina Funeral & Cremation, Charlotte, is in charge.

Emily Robertson
KERSHAW - Emily Rose Robertson, infant daughter of Joseph Clyde Robertson and Donna Vincent Robertson of 7936 Old Jefferson Highway died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be private.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her sister, Natalie Flynn Robertson of the home; her paternal grandmother, Jo Ogburn of Kershaw; and her maternal grandmother, Shirley Vincent of Kershaw.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elizabeth A. Simpson of 202 Friedheim Road died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Sanders Sr. officiating and Bishop E. L. Gray assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Kershaw County, Mrs. Simpson was a daughter of the late Minnie Abel Thompson. She was the widow of James P. Simpson. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and a member of the missionary society, the hymn choir and the senior choir. She taught Sunday school, vacation bible school and bible study. She graduated from Friendship Junior College.
Surviving are six daughters, Anna Simpson Pegram of Pomfret, Md., Mary D. Simpson of Washington, D.C., Barbara Simpson of Largo, Md., Rosalind Miller of Minneapolis, Linda Simpson Graham of Kannapolis, N.C., and Brenda Simpson of the home; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at home. The body will be placed in the church at noon Thursday.

A native of Ellerbe, N.C., Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of the late John Burl Spivey and Lillie Margaret Davis Spivey. She was the widow of William Luther Anderson Sr. She worked for Keystone YCCADA and was a former member of the Rock Hill Women's Club. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her son, W. Luther Anderson Jr. of LaGrange, Ga.; three daughters, Deana Anderson Cropp of Charlottesville, Va., and Joye Anderson Sovde and Jane Anderson Carter, both of Rock Hill; her sister, Alma Spivey Lewis of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, and at other times at the home of Roger and Joye Sovde, 670 Guilford Road, Rock Hill.
