YORK - Mrs. Alma Dickson Biggers, 91, of 711 Mason Dickson Road died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Filbert Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Wallace Tinsley officiating and the Rev. Shelton Stanford assisting. Burial will be at Beersheba Presbyterian Church cemetery.
A native of York, Mrs. Biggers was a daughter of the late Emmett Alexander Dickson and Susan Clinton Dickson. Mrs. Biggers was a homemaker and was a member of Filbert Presbyterian Church, where she was president of the women of the church, circle chairman, Bible leader, Vacation Bible School leader and youth leader. She also attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. She was the widow of Vess Biggers.
Surviving are her three sons Allen Biggers, Charles Biggers and Manning Biggers, all of York; her daughter, Gail B. Moore of Mount Holly, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Filbert Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2066 N. Hwy. 321, York, SC 29745.

Britton Caldwell
ROCK HILL - Britton B. "Teddy" Caldwell, 14, of 109 Walcott Court died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Lesslie, with the Rev. Larry L. Robertson officiating, and the Revs. Ray Thompson, Ronald Broom and Roderick Pendleton assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Britton was a son of Gerald B. Belton and Duana Caldwell. He was an eighth-grader at Saluda Trail Middle School.
Surviving in addition to his parents are five brothers, Jeremy English, Jermale English, Je Mon Douglas, Je Bré Belton and Gerquan Belton, all of Rock Hill; three sisters, LaDrema Caldwell, LaQueash Crockette and Tiosha Peterson, all of Rock Hill; his maternal grandparents, Sammie and Isabelle Barnette, both of Rock Hill; his paternal grandparents, Jeraldine Cunningham and John N. Agurs Sr., both of Rock Hill; his paternal stepgrandfather Larry Cunningham of Rock Hill; his maternal great-grandmothers, Janie Barnette and Minnie Duncan, both of Rock Hill; his paternal great-grandmother, Ella B. Agurs of Rock Hill; his paternal great-grandfather, Jerry Steele of Rock Hill; and his maternal stepgreat-grandparents, Robert Brice and Laura Brice, both of Rock Hill.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home. The body will be placed in the church at noon Wednesday.

Mary Gladden
BLACKSTOCK - Mrs. Mary Thomas Gladden, 97, of Dewitt Road died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hebron Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. David Riddle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Gladden was a daughter of the late James Flem Thomasson and Mary Jane Hayes Thomasson. She was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. She attended Mitford Schools in Great Falls. She was the widow of Hall Gladden.
Surviving are her two sons, Everette H. Gladden of Columbia and Raymond Gladden of Blackstock; her daughter, Elizabeth Faulkenberry of Kingwood, Texas; her sister, Elizabeth Johnston of Tucker, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

CHESTER ­ Ms. Hattie Gore died Sunday, December 24, 2000, at Palmetto Village.
The family will receive friends at the home of Leslie Gore, 2270 Rocky Creek Road, Lowrys.

Belle Sutton
FORT MILL - Mrs. Belle Hurst Farnell Sutton, 79, of Fort Mill died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Dr. Barry Lambert and Dr. James McGill officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Hubert. N.C., Mrs. Sutton was a daughter of the late Leland Borden Farnell and Katie Bell Henderson Farnell. She graduated from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, N.C., with a double major in French and History. She was a member and an elder of Riverview Presbyterian Church and was a former teacher in the Fort Mill school district. She was the widow of Douglas F. Sutton.
Surviving are three daughters, Catherine Bryant of Winston-Salem, N.C., Elizabeth Spratt of Fort Mill and Victoria S. Sutton of Cornelius, N.C.; two brothers, Lee B. Farnell of Rock Hill and Edward "Jute" Farnell of Williamston, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Presbyterian Church and at other times at the home.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James "Hackey" T. Young, 69, of 749 S. Stonewall St. died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Funeral Home, with the Rev. B.R. Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Young was a son of the late Arthur Buggs and Pearl Walls. He was a retired air conditioner maintenance worker.
Surviving are his wife, Willeen Young of Rock Hill; two sons, James T. Young Jr. and William B. Young, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Shirley Young of Charlotte and Louenetta Devonne Young of Rock Hill; his brother, Phillip Buggs of New Jersey; his sister, Marion Jones of Rock Hill; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Funeral Home.

Fred Youngblood, Sr.
SHARON ­ Mr. Fred "Buck" Hunter Youngblood, Sr., 90, of Sharon, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Rolling Green Village in Greenville.

YORK­ Mrs. Carol Elizabeth Allspaugh Masten, 70, of 3213 Agean Lane died Friday, December 22, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

CHESTER­ Mrs. Florence L. "Aunt Boot" Graham McClinton, 64, of 628 Lancaster Road, Apt. 230, died Sunday, December 24, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.

Helen McGuirt
FORT MILL ­ Mrs. Helen B. McGuirt, 72, of 107 Walker Street Ext. died Saturday, December 23, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
Arrangements will announced by Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

Minor Baker
HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. Minor Willis Baker, 83, of 5826 Mount Carmel Road died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral was Tuesday at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Mendel Baker officiating. Burial was at New Hope Baptist Church Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Baker was a son of the late George W. Baker and Anna Williams Baker. He was a retired farmer and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Gladden Baker of Lancaster; his son, W. Phillip Baker of Heath Springs; his brother, Boyd Baker of Heath Springs; and three sisters, Madylene Vanlandingham of Heath Springs, Reba Pitts of Columbia and Anne Spencer of Lancaster.

William Bishop
CHESTER - Mr. William Henry Bishop, 93, of Pinckney Street died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Hilton Johnson and Larry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester, Mr. Bishop was a son of the late Robert Joseph Bishop and Lula Louise Barnes Bishop. He was owner and operator of Bishop's Grocery Store. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He attended Chester County schools.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Booth and Willie Mae Culp, both of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Annie Brock
FORT MILL - Mrs. Annie Belle Hannah Brock, 82, of 130 E. Bozeman Drive died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The chapel service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Shytle officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Brock was a daughter of the late Boss Hannah and Nanny Teal Hannah. She was the widow of Daniel W. Brook Sr. She retired from Everlock Inc., in Pineville, N.C., where she worked as an assembler.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Boone of Fort Mill; three brothers, Bobby Hannah, Zeb Hannah and Thomas Hannah, all of Lancaster; two sisters, Betty Kimrey of Albemarle, N.C., and Beatrice Brock of Gaffney; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter-in-law, Judy Brock, 4040 India Hook Road, Rock Hill.

Hezekiah Childers
COLUMBIA - Mr. Hezekiah Childers, 82, formerly of Rock Hill, of 2451 Forest Drive died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Central Carolina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Columbia.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Laurelwood Cemetery, with Drs. Larry Soles and Thomas Little officiating. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Childers was a son of the late Joseph Childers and Fannie Inez Childers. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired driver with Veterans Cab. He was of the Church of God faith.
Surviving are three brothers, William M. "Bill" Childers of Ocala, Fla., and Woody Childers and Howard Childers, both of Rock Hill; and two sisters, Lillie C. Jones and Ethel C. Lee, both of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home of his sister, Ethel C. Lee, 2129 Dale Chase, Rock Hill.

Nathan Dewberry
WILMINGTON, N.C. - Nathan Andrew Dewberry, infant son of Christopher Andrew Dewberry and Candace Moses Dewberry, of 1014 St. Andrews Drive died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Mercy Hospital South in Charlotte.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Woodside Cemetery in Clover, with the Rev. Randall Madsen officiating.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his maternal grandparents, Gary Moses and Pam Moses, both of Clover; and his paternal grandparents, Susan Kennedy and Don Kennedy, both of Lake Wylie.
The family will receive friends at the home of Gary and Pam Moses, 161 Jim McCarter Road, Clover.

Lawrence Gaston Jr.
CHESTER - Mr. Lawrence Carl Gaston Jr., 73, of 114 Branch St., died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Wright's Home for Funerals, with the Rev. David Levister officiating and the Rev. Kenny Compton assisting. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Union County, Mr. Gaston was a son of the late Lawrence Carl Gaston Sr. and Kate Adeline Love Gaston. He was employed with Loftis Construction Co. in Lexington for more than 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Roof Gaston; his son, Gene Gaston of Chester; four daughters, Carol Pettus of Chester, Gail Granger of Great Falls, Priscilla Gregory of Fort Lawn and Diane Gallman of Greenville; his brother, Jack Gaston of Lockhart; three sisters, Shirley Varnadore of Great Falls, Hazel Clark of Chester and Mae Noland of Mount Holly, N.C.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Hattie Gore
CHESTER - Ms. Hattie Gore died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at Palmetto Village.
The funeral will be noon Thursday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church, with Pastor George Sim officiating and the Rev. A.A. Bankhead assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Ms. Gore was an active member of Mount Prospect Baptist Church. She attended Chester County public schools.
Surviving is her brother, Saul Gore of Chester.
The family will receive friends at the home of Ms. Leslie Gore, 2270 Rocky Greek Road in the Lowrys community.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. Thursday until the service at Mount Prospect Baptist Church.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Josephine Gill, 71, of 439-D W. Main St. died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nancy L. Carter, 57, of 1224 Jenkins St. died Monday Dec. 25, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mamie Garner
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mrs. Mamie McCross Garner, formerly of Chester, died Friday Dec. 22, 2000, in Brooklyn , N.Y.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Halseville, with the Rev. John C. Heath officiating . Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Garner was a daughter of the late John McCross and Mamie Love McCross. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. She attended schools in Chester County.
Surviving are her sister, Bessie Grates of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The family will receive friends at the home of Janie Price Woods , 687 Yarborough Road, Chester.

Homer Gregory
ROCK HILL - Mr. Homer Jack Gregory, 89, of 1800 India Hook Road died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The church service will be 2:30 p.m. today at Northside Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jerry Sosebee and Robert Alford officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Grandview Mem-orial Park.
A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Gregory was a son of the late William Franklin Gregory and Elizabeth Kimbrell Gregory. He was the widower of Velma Mary Melton Gregory. He was an Army Corp. of Engineers veteran. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge No. 111 and was a lifetime member of TPA. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. He was former chairman of deacons and served on the board of trustees. He retired from J.P. Stevens with 45 years of service.
Surviving are his brother, William Banks Gregory of Rock Hill; and three sisters, Mildred Gregory Fox of Rock Hill, Barbara Martin of Hamlet, N.C. and Jane Bowles of Rockingham, N.C.
The family will receive friends after the service and other times at the home of his sister, Mildred Fox, 1355 Dunlap Roddey Road, Rock Hill.
Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is in charge.

Alonzo Robinson Jr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. Alonzo Robinson Jr. of 546 Washington Court died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
