FORT MILL - Mrs. Minnie Kirkley Godfrey, 73, of 501 Link St. died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Fort Mill, with the Revs. Jeff Bedwell and Benny Wade officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
A native of Mount Croghan, Mrs. Godfrey was a daughter of the late Sandy Kirkley and Cornelius Nicholson Kirkley. She graduated from Pageland High School. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Harold Godfrey; her son, Sandy Godfrey of Rock Hill; her daughter, Jo Ann G. Yarborough of Indian Land; her sister, Katie Lee Thomas of Monroe, N.C.; and her granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 121 Monroe White St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

Mary Stokes
FORT LAWN - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Stokes, 61, of 1449 Riverview Circle died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. today at Fort Lawn Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ted Hodges, Odell Moseley and Gary Hensley officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Bethune, Mrs. Stokes was a daughter of the late Luther Jackson Moseley and Lillie Mae Jones Moseley. She was the widow of Hansler B. "Ben" Stokes. She graduated from Mount Pisgah High School and was a retired fixer with Springs Mills Inc. She was a real estate agent. She was a member of the Lions Club of Lancaster and Fort Lawn Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Hansil B. Stokes of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Beverly S. Bowers of Richburg and Carolyn M. Adams of Fort Lawn; six brothers, James V. Moseley of Clover, Clyde Moseley of Kershaw, Clifford Moseley, Alvin E. Moseley and Howard Moseley, all of Rock Hill, and the Rev. Odell Moseley of Chesnee; two sisters, Evelyn Hensley of Fort Lawn and Melissa Moseley Merlin of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Fort Lawn Baptist Church, 5742 Church St., Fort Lawn, SC 29714 or Lancaster Lions Club, Gregg Gause President, P.O. Box 1266 Lancaster, SC 29721.

Leonard Trakas
UNION - Mr. Leonard Wallace Trakas, 73, of 561 Beatty's Bridge Road died Friday, December 29, 2000, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Holcombe Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Travis King officiating. A graveside service will be 3:15 p.m. Sunday at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Woodruff, Mr. Trakas was a son of the late Spior Pete Trakas and Virgie Coleman Trakas. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired automotive body shop manager.
Surviving are his son, Brooks S. Trakas of Charlotte; two daughters, Terry T. Stover of York and Sharon T. Foster of Great Falls; his brother, S.P. Trakas of Columbia; three sisters, Annette Ward of Union, Vera Copeland and Betty June Duncan, both of Buffalo; and three grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Holcombe Funeral Home, where the body will remain until the service. The family will also receive friends at the home.
Memorials may be made to a Hospice organization of one's choice.

Lillie Moss
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lillie Mae Moss, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Beverly Health Care.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Danville, Va., Mrs. Moss was a daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Anna Flowers Lee. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Church Circle. She retired from J.P. Stevens Textiles.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert L. Moss; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.

Mary Davis
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Louise Schockley Davis, 78, of 330 Hutchison St. died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Laurens County, Mrs. Davis was daughter of the late James Robert Shockley and Ola McGill Schockley. She was the widow of "Press" Davis. She was retired from the Rock Hill school district, where she was a dietitian with Northside Elementary School. She was of the Church of God faith.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley Pressley, Carolyn Carter, Ruth Knight and Brenda Campbell, all of Rock Hill; her stepdaughter, Mary Ford of Orangeburg; her brother, J.R. Shockley of Chester; four sisters, Lee Duncan and Mildred Powell, both of Rock Hill, Nancy Porter of Charlotte and Brenda Traylor of Sharon; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, and at other times at the home of Shirley Pressley, 1314 Eisenhower Road, Rock Hill.

Dontae McKinley
YORK - Dontae Ahmad McKinley, infant son of Mark McKinley and Cynethia Jenome Rainey, of 4 Rosewood Lane died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church cemetery.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his maternal grandmother, Mary Rainey of the home; his maternal grandfather, Heyward Woody of York; and his paternal grandmother, Laura McKinley of New York City.

Tony Laney
LANCASTER - Mr. Tony Jerome Laney, 29, of 2544 New Cut Church Road died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at New Cut Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Wayne Dickson and Mendel Baker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Laney was a son of C.B. Laney and Brenda Joyce Hyatt Laney. He was a warehouseman for Leinerheal.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his son, Christopher Jerome Laney of Monroe, N.C.; his daughter, Adrienna Laney of Chester; and his sister, Tammy Oedewaldt of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at the home.

LANCASTER - Mr. Lawson Lisenby, 86, of 1553 Pageland Highway died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Mahaffey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Nunn officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church cemetery in Monroe, N.C.
A native of in Chesterfield, Mr. Lisenby was a son of the late Henry Cleveland Lisenby and Pearl Rayfield Lisenby. He was retired from Springs and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma Lisenby of Lancaster; his son, Troy "Mickey" Lisenby of Lancaster; his daughter, Catherine Hinson of Salisbury, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Dixie Polk of Monroe; his sister, Selma White of Morven, N.C.; four grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today before the service at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary L. Caldwell Ruffin, 49, of 210 Sidney St. died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Rehoboth AME Zion Church, with the Rev. W.H. Woods Jr. officiating and the Rev. Angela Boyd assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Ruffin was a daughter of the late Sammie Peay and Henrietta Caldwell Davis. She was a member of Rehoboth AME Zion Church and attended First Calvary Baptist Church. She attended the public schools of Chester and York counties. She worked for Springs Mills and Cannon Mills.
Surviving are her husband, James Albert Ruffin Sr.; two sons, James Albert Ruffin Jr. and Ernest Lee Ruffin, both of Rock Hill; her daughter, Eloise Ruffin of Rock Hill; two stepsons, James Tate of Rock Hill and Timothy Tate of Charlotte; her stepdaughter, Queen Esther Heath of Rock Hill; three brothers, David Caldwell of Chester and James Edward Caldwell and Sammie Hope, both of Rock Hill; seven sisters, Amelia Bouler, Essie Ray Austin, Mary A. Stewart, Catherine Davis, Jackie Davis and Sharon Jordan, all of Rock Hill, and Johnnie Mae Peay of Chester; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday and at home.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.
The body will be at the church at 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Nathaniel Crawford
BALTIMORE - Mr. Nathaniel Crawford, 88, formerly of Chester, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in Baltimore.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Cedar Rock Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. R.L. Whiterlin officiating.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Crawford was a son of the late Willie Crawford and Ethel Crawford. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore and was formerly a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church. He attended Chester County schools.
Surviving are his daughter, Ethel Chisholm of New York, and several grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of David and Mary Cheatom, 510 Gary Ave., Chester.

KERSHAW - Mrs. Mary Pauline Rider Vincent, 67, of 3823 Old Georgetown Road died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, with the Revs. Charles Young and Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.
A native of in Columbia, Mrs. Vincent was a daughter of the late William Paul Rider and Dora Mae Gardner Rider. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Vincent; two sons, Charles E. Williams and John W. Williams, both of Kershaw; three daughters, Vicky Broome, Paula Truesdale and Sharon Nobles, all of Kershaw; her stepson, John W. Vincent of Kershaw; three stepdaughters, Mary Roberts, Dianne Gardner and Brenda Madden, all of Kershaw; two half-sisters, Julie Lingerfelt of Clinton and Bobbie Rider of Lugoff; 10 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at the home.

Tyler Massey
LANCASTER - Tyler Lyles Massey, 1-year-old son of James A. Massey and Trina Lyles Massey, of 410 Gillsbrooks Road died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Chester.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Second Wilson Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.M. Bryson officiating. Eulogy will be conducted by the Rev. William N. Long. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Robinson and Betty Massey, both of Fort Lawn, his maternal great-grandparents, Lee Robinson and Mattie Lyles Robinson, both of Chester; and his paternal great-grandmother, Viola Robinson of Fort Lawn.

John Adams
ROCK HILL - Mr. John Earl Adams, 88, 323 Keels Ave. died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Park Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Heath Springs, Mr. Adams was a son of the late Cameron Alexander Adams and Daisy Elizabeth Godwin Adams. He was retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. He was a member of Park Baptist Church. An avid gardener, he was known for growing azaleas.
Surviving are his wife, Della Couch Adams; two sons, James P. Adams of Rock Hill and Paul Adams of Severn, Md.; two daughters, Dollie A. Bowers of Rock Hill and Bonnie L. Adams of Mount Desert, Maine; his brother, Connie Adams of Heath Springs; two sisters, Myrtle A. Childers and Beulah A. Sims, both of Heath Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home.
