LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Dawn Laikin Goins, 32, of 53 Honeysuckle Woods died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at River Hills Community Church, with the Revs. Bruce Jones, Jeffrey Vickery and Tonya Vickery officiating. Burial will be at River Hills Community Church cemetery.
A native of Miami, Mrs. Goins was a daughter of Andrew R. Laikin and Lynn Nilsson Laikin, both of Melbourne, Fla. She graduated from Charlotte Christian School. She attended Montreat College in Black Mountain, N.C. She was an active member of River Hills Community Church, where she served on the pre-school board.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Larry H. Goins; her daughter, Linda Ann Goins of the home; her brother, David Laikin of Miami, Fla.; and her grandmother, Jo Nell Nilsson of Melbourne.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Clover.

Dorothy Johnson
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, 72, of 636 Lige St. died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Ebenezer Nursing Home in Rock Hill.
Arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Angela Morris
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Angela Thompson Morris, 43, of 425-J Steadman St. died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Cone Hospital in Greensboro, N.C.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Hopewell Baptist Church in Sharon, with the Rev. Raymond Davis officiating and the Rev. W.T. "Dub" Massey assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York, Mrs. Morris was a daughter of James Thompson Jr. of High Point, N.C., and the late Florie Pendergrass Thompson.
Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Willie Lee Morris; her brother, Mack Pendergrass of York; two sisters, Mae Pendergrass of York and Bobbie Wilson of Smyrna; her stepdaughter, Teklia Morris of Greensboro; her stepson, Kelhs Morris, both of Greensboro; her stepmother, Lizzie L. Thompson of York; four stepbrothers, Charles Latta, Gary Latta, Melvin Latta and Eddie Marion Latta; three stepsisters, Lucinda Latta, Katherine Latta and Angela Barnette; her maternal grandmother, Ella P. Robbins of Sharon.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at Mount Hopewell Baptist Church in Sharon.

Annie Huskey
YORK - Mrs. Annie Mae "Granny" White Huskey, 87, of 2848 John Huskey Road died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Eastview Baptist Church in Rock Hill, with the Rev. Rick Martin officiating. Burial will be at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of York County, Mrs. Huskey was a daughter of the late James Riley White and Lizzie Jane Bolin White. She was a homemaker and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her husband, Iveran "Buck" Huskey of York; her son, Roy Charles Huskey of York; four daughters, Leona H. Childers, Ruth H. Brandon, Lucille H. Sexton and Betty H. Jones, all of York; her sister, Ailene White Kimble of York; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to York County Hospice, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Mary Patterson
FORT MILL - Mrs. Mary Evelyn Harkey Patterson, 95, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, with the Revs. Robert C. Monson and Jerry Temple officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
A native of Pineville, N.C., Mrs. Patterson was a daughter of the late Milas Yandell Harkey and Mary Frances Guin Harkey. She was the widow of Henry Lee Patterson Sr. She graduated as valedictorian of her class at Pineville High School. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where a circle was named in her honor. She was active in the United Methodist Women, having served in various offices at the conference, district and local levels. She was affectionately called "Miss Mary" by many people. She was a housemother at Epworth Children's Home and Killingsworth Home, both in Columbia.
Surviving are her two sons, Henry L. Patterson Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and James H. Patterson of Charlotte; two daughters, Betty P. Ervin and Carolyn Rowland, both of Fort Mill; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill and other times at the home of David and Carolyn Rowland, 117 1/2 East Leroy St., Fort Mill SC 29715.

Charles Weathers
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Charles Weathers of 550 Farm Pond Lane, Apt. 219-A, died Tuesday, Jan, 23, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 4601 Westridge Drive in Charlotte.
Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road in Chester.

David Barnette
ROCK HILL - Mr. David Gregory "Big G" Barnette, 51, of 1093 Allendale Circle died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Langrum Branch Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Osbey Roddey officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York, Mr. Barnette was a son of the late Helen Barnette. He was a retired crane operator for Duke Power's nuclear facility and was a trustee at Langrum Branch Baptist Church. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Denmark Tech and received a bachelor of arts degree from Vorhees College.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie Howell Barnette; two sons, Gregory Jamaal Barnette and Sean Barnette, both of the home; and his brother, Stanley Barnette of New Jersey.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the church 1 p.m. Sunday.
The family will receive friends at home.

Lois Carter
ROCK HILL - Dr. Lois Jones Carter, 83, of 1330 India Hook Road died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Westminster Health Care Center.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Anthony W. Dick officiating.
A native of Minnesota, Dr. Carter was a daughter of the late Dana Jones and Cecile Jacobson. She was a pathologist at York General Hospital. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. She accomplished the highest order of the Eastern Star and was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Wooster College in Ohio and a master of arts degree from Ohio State University. She received her medical degree in pathology from Western Reserve. She was a member of the York County and South Carolina Medical Associations.
Surviving are two sons, Peter Carter of York and Robert Carter of California; her daughter, Elizabeth Carter of Boston; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.

John Gooley
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Mr. John E. Gooley, 72, formerly of Rock Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001.
A memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, Fla. A memorial service in Rock Hill will be announced at a later date.
A native of Connecticut, Mr. Gooley was a son of Anna Aiello and John Patrick Gooley. He was retired from Home Lite Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Joan R. Gooley; three sons, John R. Gooley of Laguna, Calif., Jeffrey A. Gooley of Charlotte and James D. "Jay" Gooley of Rock Hill; his sister, Delores Hall of New York; two grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

Wade Hoffman
ROCK HILL - Mr. Wade Eldridge Hoffman, 93, of 159 Sedgewood Drive died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Ebenezer Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. John "Chip" McArthur officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mr. Hoffman was a son of the late Ambrose Hoffman and Martha Molissie Capps Hoffman. He was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church PCA. He was a retired dairy farmer and carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Loree Ashley Hoffman of Gastonia, N.C.; two sons, Nelson Hoffman of Dallas, N.C., and Franklin Hoffman of Tempe, Ariz.; two sisters, May Hoff-man Cloninger of Dallas and Mary Hoffman Johnson of York; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.

Ruth Horsmon
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Ruth Barrett Horsmon, 82, of 1800 India Hook Road died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Lusby, Md., with Pastor Jane Wood officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lusby, Md., Mrs. Horsmon was a daughter of the late Daniel Barrett and Annie Allen Barrett. She was the widow of Samuel L. Horsmon. A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Mrs. Horsmon was a member of the Eastern Star in Lusby. She drove school buses in the Broomes Island, Md., area, with 15 years of service.
Surviving are her son, Phillip Horsmon of Rock Hill; two brothers, Carl Barrett of Lusby and Daniel Barrett of Oliviet, Md.; two sisters, Doris Matteson and Flo Mae Russell, both of Solomons Island, Md.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Katherine Lloyd
LANCASTER - Mrs. Katherine Ingram Lloyd, 88, of 1600 Kings Circle died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. Dale Roach, Mitch Ingram and Curtis Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Lloyd was a daughter of the late William Robert "Bobby" Ingram and Leila Knight Ingram. She was a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she served in the Junior Sunday School Department and the morning prayer group.
Surviving are two daughters, Johnnie K. Lloyd of Lancaster and Melvrene L. Padgett of Boone, N.C.; her sister, Helen I. Carroll of Lancaster; her brother, William Robert Ingram Jr. of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Irene Loveland
FORT MILL - Mrs. Irene Spencer Loveland, 88, of 301 Swamp Fox Drive died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tega Cay Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jesse Wilson and David Long officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.
A native of Butler, Okla., Mrs. Loveland was a daughter of the late William Franklin Spencer and Grace Edna Keith Spencer. During World War II, she worked for the American Red Cross in Boston, Mass. She served as secretary at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, N.C., with 15 years of service. She was a member of Tega Cay Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph F. Loveland of Fort Mill; her son, Richard Loveland of Fort Mill; her daughter, Kathaleen Phillips of Fort Mill; her sister, Virgie Watson of California; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Tega Cay Baptist Church and at other times at home.

Minnie Justus
GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Minnie Lee Broom Justus, 81, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randall Madsen officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
A native of Lockhart, Mrs. Justus was a daughter of the late Robert Thomas Broom and Myrtle Byars Broom. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur Lee Justus; two daughters, Ollie Ruth Catoe of Lake Wylie and Margaret Justus of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, L.C. Broom and Bobby Joe Broom, both of Great Falls; two sisters, Kathleen Kirk of Kernersville, N.C., and Myrtle Broom of Lugoff; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Martin Massoglia
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Mr. Martin F. Massoglia, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Carolina Meadows.
A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 940 Carmichael St., Chapel Hill. Burial with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 13, 2001, at Arlington National Cemetery.
A native of Lauriu, Mich., Mr. Massoglia was a retired Army colonel who led his combat engineering battalion ashore on D-Day.
Surviving are his wife, Dr. Elinor Tripato Massoglia of Chapel Hill; four sons, Martin F. Massoglia II of North Hills, Calif., Charles L. Massoglia of Mason, Mich., Jon Massoglia Silvermoon of Eugene, Ore., and Michael P. Massoglia of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Ann Massoglia of Hickory, N.C., and Judy Massoglia Holt of Lancaster; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church or the Newman-Catholic Student Center Parish at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Paul Parks Jr.
EDGEMOOR - Mr. Paul Thomas Parks Jr., 76, of 2884 Westbrook Road died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Parks was a son of the late Paul T. Parks Sr. and Myrtle Spinks Parks. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a plant manager at J.P. Stevens and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Paul Thomas Parks III of Casselberry, Fla., and Mike Williams of Orlando, Fla.; three daughters, Karen Mitchell of Mount Airy, N.C., Tamara Thompson of Casselberry and Kyle Boleman of Tampa, Fla.; his brother, Charles Parks of Calhoun Falls; his sister, Ethel Funderburk of Fort Mill; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and his companion, Bonnie Thomas of Edgemoor.
