Pauline Montgomery
YORK - Mrs. Pauline Spencer Montgomery, 84, of 907 E. Liberty St. died Friday March 2, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Bratton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Beersheba Presbyterian Church cemetery in Clover.
A native of Gaffney, Mrs. Montgomery was a daughter of the late James H. Spencer and Dora Wyatt Spencer. She was a widow of the late Zan Davis Montgomery. She was a homemaker and was a member of Temple Presbyterian Church in America in Clover.
Surviving are four daughters, Dorothy M. Good, Patsy M. Fields and Guynelle M. Feemster, all of York, and Brenda M. Brandon of Clover; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Temple Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 733, York, SC 29745.

Charles Thompson
YORK - Charles Edward Thompson, 46, of 306 Ross Cannon St. died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at Clinton Chapel AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Uniondale Cemetery.
Surviving are his mother, Edna Crawford Thompson; three sisters, Mary Rhodes and Edna Thompson, both of York, and Clara Burris of Charlotte; three brothers, Walter Thompson and Ronnie Thompson, both of York, and Donald Thompson of Rock Hill; and his special friend, Frances Gutherie of Hickory Grove.
The body may be viewed from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Monday.

Patricia Wilson
CHARLOTTE - Ms. Patricia Ann Wilson, 46, of 2200 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rock Grove AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Ralph V. Washington officiating and the Revs. John Brown and L.L. Hancock assisting.
Ms. Wilson was a daughter of Hattie Durham Garrison and the late Cecil Mitchell. She was a 1972 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a teacher's assistant with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system at Merry Oaks Elementary School. She was a 1995 nominee for Teacher's Assistant of the Year and was on the Dean's List and University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She was a member of Rock Grove AME Zion Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her son, Jamel Q. Wilson of Charlotte; two brothers, Bryant F. Garrison of Charlotte and Ray J. Wilson of Rock Hill; and three sisters, Ruby Chambers, Etta Gist and Linda James, all of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. The family will also receive friends at the home of Hattie Garrison, 301 Green St, Rock Hill and at the home of Ruby and William Chambers, 701 Porter Road, Rock Hill.

Sherman Mobley
CHESTER - Mr. Sherman McKinley Mobley, 85, of Magnolia Manor Nursing Center died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. J.H. Neal officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Black Rock Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Mobley was the son of the late John Berry Mobley and Maggie Canty Mobley. He was a retired painter and tailor. He was a graduate of Finley High School and attended the Brainerd Institute. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Mr. Mobley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years.
He is survived by his sister, Hertisene M. Floyd, of Boston; and several nieces and nephews.
The body may be viewed at 1:30 p.m. today at the church.
The family will receive friends at the home of William "Bill" Stinson, 111 Lowry St., Chester.

James Bailey
LANCASTER - Mr. James H. Bailey, 63, of 708 E. Arch St. died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Red Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronald Broome officiating and the Revs. Lloyd Reid and Robert Boyd assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of in Lancaster County, Mr. Bailey was a son of the late Jim Bailey and Beatrice Trapp Bailey. He attended Lancaster County public schools and was retired from Grace Bleachery in Lancaster. A member of Red Hill Baptist Church, Mr. Bailey was a choir leader, a member of the men's choir and a member of the church's board of trustees.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma Wilmore Bailey; his son, Donald Ray Bailey of Lancaster; his sister, Lula Bell Cornelius of Liberty Hill; his granddaughter whom he raised, Natasha Champion of the home; and 10 other grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Red Hill Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at noon Tuesday until the hour of service.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Ora Baskins
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Ora "Otis" Baskins, 79, of 10407 Wilson Glen Drive died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Baskins was a son of the late Lula Baskins. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Garrett and Garrett Construction Co. in Fountain Inn. He was a WWII Army veteran.
Surviving are his daughter, Lula Jackson of the home; his son, Willie J. Baskins of York; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in York.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Minnie Brown
YORK - Mrs. Minnie L. Brown of 2795 Hord Road died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.

Eva Criminger
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Eva Mae "Chickie" Seymoure Criminger, 86, of 436 Maywood Drive died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be noon Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Revs. Steve Sanders and William Mitchell officiating.
A native of Bowman, Ga., Mrs. Criminger was a daughter of the late Isham Seymoure and Pearl Hall Seymoure. She was the widow of Julius W. Criminger. She was retired from Springs Mills and was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill. She was also a seamstress.
Surviving are her sister, Mary Jim Blair of Lilburn, Ga.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home of Lisa Fudge, 436 Maywood Drive, Rock Hill.

William Cheshire
CATAWBA - Mr. William Jackson Cheshire, 78, of 298 Rowells Road died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Napier officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Mooresville, N.C., Mr. Cheshire was a son of the late John L. Cheshire and Lizzie Puckett Cheshire. He was a WWII Army veteran and was retired from the textile industry. He as a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Sims Cheshire; three sons, William Cheshire of Bessemer City, N.C., Sherrill Cheshire of Gastonia, N.C., and Gene D. Cheshire of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three daughters, Brenda Lingerfelt of Stanley, N.C., Rosemary Cheshire of Hays, N.C., and Diane Tadlock of Rock Hill; three stepsons, Gary D. Tadlock, Barry D. Tadlock and Bruce "Scott" Tadlock, all of Rock Hill; two stepdaughters, Sarah Barnes of York and Pat Dawkins of Edgemoor; two brothers, Andy Cheshire and Henry Cheshire, both of Waxhaw, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Cheshire and Dorothy Cheshire; 33 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the residence of Gary Tadlock Sr., 2721 Greenwood Road, Rock Hill.

CHESTER - Pernella Smith Johnson, 99, of 232 Ligon St. died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at home.
Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Travis Johnson
GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Travis Scott Johnson, 33, of 1013 W. Mauney Ave. died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Galilee Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Charles Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mr. Johnson was a son of Charles A. Johnson of York and the late Rosa Lee Thompson Johnson. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in York and was a welder.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Michelle Lee Boling Johnson; his son, De'Travis Jamal Burris of Gastonia; his daughter, La'Tara Samon Johnson of Charlotte; three brothers, Morgan R. Johnson and Damon Dixon, both of Rock Hill, and Billy Pagan of Gastonia; three sisters, Ernie Lee Adams of Gastonia, Donna L. Johnson of York and Karen Harris of Philadelphia; and his grandmothers, Veola Johnson of York and Barbara Corson of Clover.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Galilee Baptist Church.

Baby McVay
CHESTER - The infant son of Aaron Sanders and Katricka McVay, of 131 Memorial Drive died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gethsemane Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Tom Sanders officiating.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Aaron McVay of the home; and his sister, Ariana McVay of the home; his maternal grandparents, David and Mary McVay of Chester; his paternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Sanders of Chester; his paternal great-grandmother, Martha Williams of Chester; and his maternal great-grandmother, Willie V. McVay of Chester.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Elizabeth Morgan
CHARLOTTE - Elizabeth "Lizzie" Neel Morgan, 5, daughter of Tim and Janet Morgan of Charlotte, died Saturday, March 3, 2001.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private.
A native of Charlotte, Elizabeth attended kindergarten at Eastover Academy and was in the hearing impaired class. She was a member of South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, Taylor Morgan of the home; her twin sister, Bryce Morgan of the home; her maternal grandparents, Nolan and Martha Mackey of Cornelius, N.C.; her paternal grandparents, Buddy and Linda Morgan of Charlotte; her maternal great-grandmother, Theda Bennett of Rockledge, Fla.; her maternal great-grandparents, Fred and Rachel Spears of Troutman, N.C.; her paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Abbe of Charlotte; and her paternal great-grandparents, Irvin and Gladys Morgan of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends today at the home.

YORK - Mr. Thomas Jack Smith, 79, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas B. McPhail officiating.
A native of Clover, Mr. Smith was a son of the late Parks Smith and Ann Adkins Smith. He was the widower of Monica Hudson Smith. A retired glass worker for Corning Glass Works, he was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of Beth Shiloh Pres-byterian Church.
Surviving are his two sons, Russell Smith of York and Thomas P. Smith of Farmerville, Texas; and his sister, Betty Smith Dickson of York.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 1084 N. Shiloh Road, York, SC 29745.

Priscilla Tyner
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C . - Mrs. Priscilla Peele Tyner, 81, died Sunday, March, 4, 2001, at Manor Care Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Waters Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Florence. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Tyner was a daughter of the late Benjamin Watson and Cecelia Vendell Watson of Brettons Neck.
Surviving are her two daughters, Cecelia Sill of Pinehurst, N.C., and Sandra Tyner Marshall of Rock Hill.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Waters Powell Funeral Home in Florence.
Boles Funeral Homes & Crematory of Southern Pines is in charge.
