Richard Tanner
LAKE WYLIE - Mr. Richard Robert Tanner, 81, of 184 Birch Tree Road died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A rosary will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at River Hills Community Church. A funeral liturgy will follow at 1 p.m., with the Father Edward P. McDevitt officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Cemetery in Vernon, Vt.
A native of Columbia County, N.Y., Mr. Tanner was a son of the late William Tanner and Alice Pallard Tanner. A member of All Saints Catholic Mission of Lake Wylie, Mr. Tanner was retired from Wirthmore Co. He served with the Air Force military police during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, and he served as a volunteer fireman in Millerton, N.Y.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Fox Tanner; his son, Robert Richard Tanner of Charlotte; three daughters, Nancy Mae Boyd of Brattleboro, Vt., Barbara Ann Ronan of Charlotte and Patricia Delores Root of Newfane, Vt.; his brother, Chester Tanner of Millerton; his sister, Cecilia Delores Cluff of Lake Wylie; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the liturgy.
Memorials may be made to the All Saints Church Building Fund, c/o Divine Saviour Church, P.O. Box 341, York, SC 29745.

Mary Thatcher
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Louise Covington Thatcher, 86, of 127 Murrah Drive died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Magnolia Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Adnah United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael Leonhardt officiating and the Rev. Jim Parrish assisting. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum in Charlotte.
A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Thatcher was a daughter of the late George Logan and Mary Albertine Covington. She was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church and was former owner and operator of T & W Grocery in Newport.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Thatcher Wells of Rock Hill, and her granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home of her daughter, 212 Hands Mill Highway.

Judy Shrader
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Judy Davis Shrader, 58, of 611 Greenbrier Ave. died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Steve Hogg, Donald Davis and Joseph Beasley officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Chester, Mrs. Shrader was a daughter of Lois Keasler Davis of Chester and the late Lester B. Davis. She was formerly a clerk at Woolworth Department Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill and graduated from high school in Oak Hill, Va.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, James S. Shrader; her daughter, Christy Hall of York; her brother, Jerry Davis of Chester; and her grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Ray Thomasson
YORK - Mr. Ray Thomasson, 79, of 210 W. Old Limestone Road died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alan Price officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Thomasson was a son of the late T. N. Thomasson and Leila Wood Thomasson. He was a retired postal carrier for the U.S. Post Office, with 35 years of service. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he was deacon and treasurer and taught the men's Bible class.
Surviving are his brother, David Thomasson of Rock Hill; five sisters, Ogle Thomasson of Greenwood, Margaret Thomasson of York, Rachel T. Yamada of Riverside, Calif., Mary Ann T. Jordan of Jesup, Ga., and Jean T. Ginter of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

Claude Wilson Jr.
CONCORD, N.C. - Mr. Claude Wilson Jr., 61, died Sunday, March
4, 2001, at home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road.
A native of Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Wilson was a son of Inez Wilson of Concord and the late Claude Wilson Sr. He was a member of Equator Faith Mission. He was an ordained minister and evangelist.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Gladys Wilson; his son, Jeffrey Claude Wilson Jr. of Huntersville, N.C.; six daughters, Terry Wilson and Nancy Wilson, both of Charlotte, Norma Anthony, Arlene Liriano and Sonya Brice, all of Rock Hill, and Yvette Wilson of Gastonia, N.C.; and 21 grandchildren.

Delois Thompson
CHESTER - Ms. Delois Thompson of 2678 Dawson Drive, Apt. 101, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends at home.
Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

James Bailey
LANCASTER - Mr. James H. Bailey, 63, of 708 E. Arch St. died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Red Hill Baptist Church in Lancaster County, with the Rev. Ronald Broome officiating and the Revs. Lloyd Reid and Robert Boyd assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Bailey was a son of the late Jim Bailey and Beatrice Trapp Bailey. He attended Lancaster County public schools and was retired from Grace Bleachery. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist church, where he was choir leader, a member of the men's choir and a member of the church's board of trustees.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma Wilmore Bailey; his son, Donald Ray Bailey of Lancaster; his granddaughter whom he raised, Natasha Champion of the home; his sister, Lula Bell Cornelius of Liberty Hill; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body will be placed in the church at noon today until the hour of service.
Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge.

Shirley Cater
FORT MILL - Mrs. Shirley Maners Cater, 64, of 1900 Pleasant Road died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Fort Mill, with the Revs. Jeff Bedwell and Benny Wade officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mt. Holly, N.C.
A native of Mt. Holly, Mrs. Cater was a daughter of the late Jess Emanuel Lutz and Mary Rena Helms Lutz. She was the widow of Harvey W. Maners Sr. She retired from Presbyterian Hospital, where she served as a nursing technician for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pearl Sunday school class.
Surviving are her husband, Floyd Cater; her two sons, Terry Maners of Concord, N.C., and Harvey W. Maners Jr. of Stanley, N.C.; three brothers, Julius Lutz of Seaside, Calif., and J. W. Lutz and Wayne Lutz, both of Charlotte; five sisters, Frances Lane and Ruby Retera, both of Charlotte, Mary Lou Rhodes of Huntersville, N.C., Peggy Rorie of Monroe, N.C., and Pat Thomas of Wingate, N.C.; two stepsons, Bill Cater of Fort Mill and Dale Bivens of Lincolnton, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Glenda Rudy of Fort Mill and Brenda Bailey of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at First Baptist Church in Fort Mill and at other times at home.

Eva Criminger
ROCK HILL- Mrs. Eva Mae "Chickie" Seymoure Criminger, 86, formerly of 210 Grier St., Fort Mill, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at the home of her granddaughter, Lisa Fudge, 436 Maywood Drive.
The funeral will be noon today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Bowman, Ga., Mrs. Criminger was a daughter of the late Isham Seymoure and Pearl Hall Seymoure. She was the widow of Julius W. Criminger. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill. She retired from Springs Mills.
Surviving are her sister, Mary Jim Blair of Lillbern, Ga.; four granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Lisa Fudge, 436 Maywood Drive.

Pernilla Johnson
CHESTER - Pernilla Smith Johnson, 99, of 232 Ligon St. died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at home.
Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.

Paul Criminger
HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. Paul Pressley Criminger, 85, of 2551 Rocky River Road died Monday, March 5, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rich Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Brooks Walker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Heath Springs, Mr. Criminger was a son of the late William Robert Criminger and Pearl Jane Sims Criminger. He was a retired textile worker and was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Iva Lee Wheeler Criminger; his son, Robert C. "Bobby" Criminger of Heath Springs; two daughters, Margaret Roberts of Heath Springs and Paulette Hinson of Lancaster; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at home.

David Hood
FORT MILL - David Eugene Hood, 57, of 2221 Coltharp Road died Friday, March 2, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. J.B. Helms and David Jennings officiating.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Hood was a son of the late Eugene D. Hood and Irene Hood Blocker. He was the owner of David's Drywall.
Surviving are his son, David W. Hood of Fort Mill; his daughter, Rita H. Holland of Fort Mill; five brothers, Dennis A. Hood of Pineville, N.C., Donald L. Hood of York, James M. Hood and Jerry D. Hood, both of Fort Mill, and Bobby Hubert of Rock Hill; two sisters, Dorothy E. Hillman of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Linda I. Clyatt of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Lena Pittman
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lena Elizabeth Garner Pittman, 82, of 2951 Southeastern Road died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Home Down-town Chapel, with the Revs. Dennis Willowby and Jim Parrish officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Pittman was a daughter of the late William P. Garner and Beulah Huffman Garner. She was the widow of John E. Pittman. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons, Johnny Pittman, Charles Pittman and Robert Pittman, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Jean Duncan and Harriet Bru-ton, both of Rock Hill, and Linda Smith of Lake Wylie; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and at other times at the home of Johnny and Ann Pittman, 2098 Woodcrest Circle, Rock Hill.

Inez Moser
FORT MILL - Mrs. Inez Pearce Moser, 77, of McConnells, formerly of Fort Mill, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Harmon officiating.
A native of Mecklenburg County, N.C., Mrs. Moser was a daughter of the late John T. Pearce and Etta Gertrude Armstrong Pearce. She was the widow of John Robert Moser. She was a homemaker and was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, David R. Moser of McConnells; her daughter, Connie M. Stone of York; her sister, Gertrude Reid of Weddington, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of David Moser, 550 Simpson Road.

Infant McVay
CHESTER - Infant Boy McVay, son of Katricka McVay of 131 Memorial Drive and Aaron Sanders of Chester, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Gethsemane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Sanders officiating.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Aaron McVay of the home; his sister, Ariana McVay of the home; his maternal grandparents, David McVay and Mary W. McVay of the home; his paternal grandparents, Pastor Tommy Sanders and Mary Sanders of Chester; his maternal great-grandmother, Willie V. McVay of Chester; and his paternal great-grandmothers, Martha Williams and Louise Sanders, both of Chester, and Mary Etta Gallman of Charlotte.
Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge.

Jonathan Keeffe
FORT MILL - The Rev. Jonathan Daniel Keeffe, 58, of 133-C Bozeman Drive died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stough Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mart Duggard, J. Grady Faulk and Bruce League officiating. Burial will be at Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, N.C.
A native of Pineville, the Rev. Keeffe was a son of the late Jonah S. Keeffe and Eula Carson Keeffe. He was the widower of Margaret Lambert Keeffe. He was a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of Indian Land Masonic Lodge No. 414 and Order of Eastern Star No. 286.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Lambert Brooks of Hudson, N.C., and Stella Keeffe of Shelby, N.C.; three sisters, Eunice Chappelear of Fletcher, N.C., Elizabeth "Sparkle" Polson of Tampa, Fla., and Carolina Reeves of Lancaster; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Stough Memorial Baptist Church in Pineville and at other times at home. Masonic Rites will be given at 6:30 tonight at the church.
