LANCASTER - Mrs. Sara Alice Pittman Barton, 74, of 1967 Douglas Road died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. today at Douglas Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Peebles officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Barton was a daughter of the late Ira Luther Pittman Sr. and Minnie Pittman. She was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church, where she was active in Circle No. 3. She was a former circle chairperson.
Surviving are her husband, Hugh M. Barton of Lancaster; two sons, Malcolm Barton of Lancaster and Brian Barton of Kershaw; three brothers, Ira Luther Pittman Jr. and William Howard Pittman, both of Lancaster, and Louis Lee Pittman of Mandan, N.D.; two sisters, Nancy Pittman Gainer and Louise Pittman Baker, both of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Douglas Presbyterian Church, 2325 Sunday Place, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to a charity of one's choice.

Sarah Bowers
LANCASTER - Mrs. Sarah Josephine "Jo" Jennings Bowers, 76, of 803 Fork Hill Road died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Steve Neal officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Macon County, N.C., Mrs. Bowers was a daughter of the late Thomas J. Jennings and Hattie E. Holcomb Jennings. She was the widow of James Bruce Bowers. A member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Mrs. Bowers was retired from retail sales.
Surviving are three brothers, Harold T. Jennings of Gray, Ga., and Jay Jennings and Paul Jennings, both of Franklin, N.C.; two sisters, Lucille Sanders of Asheville, N.C., and Betty Shelton of Yuma, Ariz.
The family will receive friends after the service.
Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, is in charge.

Mildred Bradford
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mildred Langley Bradford, 84, of 1330 India Hook Road died Friday, March 9, 2001, at Westminster Towers.
The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. today at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with Dr. William Pender officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Abbeville, Mrs. Brad-ford was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Langley and Frances Amanda Baughman Langley. She was the widow of H. Carl Bradford. She retired from M. Lowenstein and was a member of Oakland Ave. Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane B. Kay of Jacksonville, Fla., and Margaret B. Walden of Columbia; her sister, Betty Jo Ward of Anderson, N.C.; her stepmother, Bobbi McCollum of Anderson; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, 421 W. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730 or Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Lillie Clack
CHESTER - Mrs. Lillie Belle Lipford Clack, 83, of 1148 Liberty Road died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reggie Parker officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester, Mrs. Clack was a daughter of the late William Robert Lipford and Margaret Melissa Roddey Lipford. She was the widow of Johnny William Clack. She retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and attended Chester County Schools.
Surviving are her son, Leon Clack of Chester; her stepson, Francis Clack of Blair; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Brakefield of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Rosalie Esposito
BRANFORD, Conn. - Mrs. Rosalie Esposito, 60, of 140 Thompson St. in East Haven, Conn., died March 11, 2001.
The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green in West Haven, Conn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Church in New Haven, Conn. Burial will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford.
A native of New York City, Mrs. Esposito was a daughter of the late George Lattanzio and Angelina Lattanzio.
Surviving are her husband, Anthony Esposito; three sons, Anthony G. Esposito of Fort Lawn, Gerald Esposito of East Haven and John Esposito of Rock Hill; her daughter, Philomena Nicholas of West Haven; and 11 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at West Haven Funeral Home in West Haven.

I. W. Hinson Sr.
HEATH SPRINGS - Mr. I. W. Hinson Sr., 86, of 2941 Rocky River Road died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rich Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brooks Walker and Dr. Ken Lance officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Hinson was a son of the late Hoyt Jack Hinson and Sarah Blackmon Hinson. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia S. Hinson; two sons, I. W. "Billy" Hinson and Jackie Hinson, both of Heath Springs; his daughter, Donna Lou Faulkenberry of Heath Springs; his brother, Max L. Hinson of Niceville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel, and at other times at home.

Herman Kilpatrick
FORT LAWN - Mr. Herman Jasper Kilpatrick Sr., 66, of 775 Buster Landing Road died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Lynchburg, Tenn.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Lawn Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ted Hodges officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
A native of Inman, Mr. Kilpatrick was a son of the late James Ernest Kilpatrick and Kathleen Sosebee Kilpatrick. He retired from Springs Industries and was a retired electrician at Arnold Air Force Base. He coached the Midget Football Team and was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Estes Kilpatrick; his son, Herman J. "Jay" Kilpatrick of Fort Lawn; his daughter, Jan Montgomery of Richburg; his brother, Charles Kilpatrick of Chester; his sister Nancy Penland of Chester; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster.

Pete Millstead
ROCK HILL - Mr. Hayward "Pete" M. Millstead, 78, of 604 Cauthen St. died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Neal officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Winnsboro, Mr. Millstead was a son of the late Issac Marcus Millstead and Nishie Gertrude Waters Millstead. He retired from Aragon Mills, with 29 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Hejzah Shrine Temple. A Navy World War II veteran, Mr. Millstead was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post No. 34.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Boyter Millstead; two daughters, Gail Hammond and Connie James, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Hazel Rayburn of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.

Furman Carnes
ROCK HILL - Mr. Furman Carnes, 85, of 4052 Wade St. died Monday, March 12, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at NewKirk Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Sames officiating and the Rev. Bo Coleman and Dr. Jerry Sosebee assisting. Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Carnes was a son of the late James N. Carnes and Hattie Knight Carnes. He retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. He was a member of NewKirk Baptist Church, where he was active in the Sojourners Sunday school class, the Brotherhood and the Royal Ambassadors. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Frank Roach American Legion Post No. 34. He was a former Boy Scout leader and was a volunteer with Hope Inc. and the National Federation of the Blind.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes "Nell" Carnes; his daughter, Lorraine C. Gaynor of Rock Hill; his sister, Eula Garrison of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of his granddaughter, Tammy Bridges, 866 Mallory Drive, Rock Hill.

CHESTER - Mrs. Virginia "Bea" Young Crosby, 71, of 526 Columbia Road died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
The family will be at the home of Charlie and Cathy C. Camps, 206 Lilly St.
Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St.

Helen Hartgraves
AIKEN - Mrs. Helen Freeman Hartgraves, 84, of 3335 Wise Creek Lane died Monday, March 12, 2001, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at South Aiken Church of God, with the Revs. Bruce Fox and David Holdman officiating. The burial will be private.
A native of Neelyville, Mo., Mrs. Hartgraves was a daughter of the late Rev. J. H. Freeman and Pearl Butler Freeman. She was the widow of the Rev. A.L. Hartgraves. She was a homemaker and was a member of South Aiken Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Al L. Hartgraves of Big Canoe, Ga., and Rodney Hartgraves of Cleveland, Tenn.; three daughters, Sharon H. Stack of Ninety Six, Janice Holdman of Aiken and Cindy Burton of Rock Hill; two brothers, the Rev. J. R. Freeman of Herperia, Calif., and Jerome Freeman of San Diego; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary Louise Weaver Neal, 71, of 1745 Fieldcrest Circle, Apt. 109, died Tuesday, March 12, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
