INDIAN LAND - Mrs. Ruby Cline Lovern, 78, of 8570 Possum Hollow Road died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Mill, with the Revs. Andy Barnes and Jason Coley officiating. Burial will be at Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Lovern was a daughter of the late David Belton Cline and Bessie Perry Cline. She graduated from Lancaster High School. She was a member of Stough Memorial Baptist Church and was former director of the children's choir. She attended New Life Church. She retired from York General Hospital, where she was a nursing assistant. She taught piano lessons and was a former member of Winthrop College Glee Club.
Surviving are her husband, Lonnie Lovern; and her sister, Leslie Penegar of Greer.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Wolfe Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Church, P.O. Box 975, Pineville, NC 28134.

Lula Hinson
LANCASTER - Mrs. Lula Horton Hinson, 84, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Lancaster Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. N.J. Neely officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Lancaster County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of the late Luther Lloyd Horton and Carrie Barrett Horton. She was a homemaker and was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are her son, Larry C. Hinson of Lancaster; two daughters, Linda Combs of West Point, Ga., and Nancy A. Matheson of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Gerald Privette
ROCK HILL - Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Floyd Privette, 73, of 221 Hutchinson St. died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Eddie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Privette was a son of the late Roy Van Buren Privette and Mamie Boulware Privette Connell. He retired from Hoechst-Celanese after 46 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the Frank Roach American Legion Post34. He was a member of Park Baptist Church and the church's 60s Club. He was the widower of Faye McClintock Privette.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Randolph Privette of Sumter and Gerald Owen Privette of Gastonia, N.C.; his brother, Ralph Privette of Rock Hill; three sisters, Edna P. Robinson, Kaye P. Pike and Nina P. Poole, all of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Park Baptist Church 60s Club, 717 E. Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Julia Kirkpatrick
FORT MILL - Mrs. Julia Kirkpatrick of 113 Joe Louis St. died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at United AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Norman H. Hicklin officiating. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a daughter of the late Willie Sibley and Johnnie Mae Dunlap. She was a member of United AME Zion Church. She attended the public schools of York County and Friendship Junior College. She was the widow of Charlie Kirkpatrick.
Surviving are her son, Anthony Kirkpatrick of Fort Mill; her daughter, Angelique Murphy-Newton of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 today at Robinson Funeral Home in Rock Hill. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Friday.

Fredrick Riggs
ROCK HILL - Mr. Fredrick D. Riggs, 59, of 1811 Huntington Place died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Brown officiating.
A native of Vienna, W.Va., Mr. Riggs was a son of the late Arlie Riggs and Mable Maddox Riggs. He was of the Methodist faith and was owner and operator of Mike's Custom Cars and Entity Systems and Programming.
Surviving are his wife, Deanna Lemon Riggs; two sons, Brian Riggs and Michael Riggs, both of Rock Hill; his brother, Steve Riggs of Vienna, W.Va.; his sister, Susie Riggs of Vienna, W.Va.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at home.

Reola Wright
YORK - Mrs. Reola Bowen Wright, 72, of 29 Maiden Lane died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Me-morial Park in Rock Hill.
A native of York County, Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late Clarence Bowen and Ella Bowen. She was a retired teaching assistant in the York school district.
Surviving are her son, James "David" Wright of Orange, N.J.; three daughters, Linnie W. Miller of Rock Hill, Cheryl R. Wright of Tim-monsville and Alvina W. Jefferies of York; three brothers, James Bowen of York, Thomas Bowen of Ruby and William Bowen of Pageland; and two sisters, Penninah Lowry and Correan Bowen, both of York.
The family will receive friends at home.
Wright Funeral Home in York is in charge.

Fred Gardner
KERSHAW - Mr. Fred Crawford Gardner, 84, of 3960 Travellers Road died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Kershaw County Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Morris officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Kershaw, Mr. Gardner was a son of the late Fred Isaac and Bleeker Morgan Gardner. He was a member of the Buffalo Baptist Church and was a member of the George Gardner Sunday school class. He was retired from J.P. Stevens. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian Beam Gardner; his son, Robbie D. Gardner of Kershaw; four brothers, Ray Gardner and Coot Gardner, both of Kershaw, Grady Gardner of Alexandria, Va., and Joe Gardner of Hartsville; five sisters, Floree Todd, Nell Brown, Helen Kennington, Mary Scott, all of Kershaw, and Ethel G. Updike of Helen, Ga; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home Kershaw Chapel and other times at the home of Robbie Gardner, 1354 Scott Road, Kershaw.

Elvin Hall
ROCK HILL - Mr. Elvin Hugh Hall, 90, of 549 Orchard Lane died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Steve White officiating and Mark Canady assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Cadiz, Ky., Mr. Hall was a son of the late Henry Hall and Beulah Faulkner Hall. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill and was educated in Cadiz. He was former owner of E.H. Hall Construction Co. and later Hall-McGowin in Greenville, Miss. He built schools, churches and commercial buildings for many years. During World War II, he helped to build Army camps in the United States. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville, Miss., for 48 years, where he was a deacon. He was a member and past president of the Mississippi Chapter of American General Contractors Association and was a longtime member of Rotary International.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Weems Hall; three daughters, Hughlene H. Lucas of Rock Hill, Brenda H. Teppig of Mount Airy, Md., and Julia H. Booth of Vestavia Hills, Ala.; his sister, Mary Grace Poe of Evansville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.

James Hensley
LANCASTER - Mr. James L. "Jimmy Cedarfoot" Hensley, 57, of 1939 High Point Circle died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Walker officiating.
A native of Gastonia, N.C., Mr. Hensley was a son of the late Ernest Franklin Hensley and Audrey Deese Hensley. He was an autobody repairman for several body shops, including City Body Shop. He was a member of Taylors Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his son, James Lynn Hensley of Atlanta; seven brothers, Tommy Hensley, Roger Hensley, Ronald Hensley and Joey Hensley, all of Lancaster, Bill Hensley of Asheville, N.C., John Hensley of Sacramento, Calif. and Ray Hensley of Atlanta; and two sisters, Betty Hensley of Baltimore and Lib Mobley of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway.

Patsy Ghant
FORT MILL - Mrs. Patsy McKinney Ghant, 67, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 121 Mon-roe White St., with the Revs. Jeff Bedwell and Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Waxhaw, N.C., Mrs. Ghant was a daughter of the late William Morgan McKinney and Ella Lemmond McKinney. She graduated from Carolina Business College in Charlotte. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Mill. She was the widow of Niven B. Ghant.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Ghant Hulvey of Fort Mill; three brothers, William Morgan McKinney of Moses Lake, Wash., James W. McKinney of Aiken and Roddy L. McKinney of Birmingham Ala.; five sisters, Shirley McKinney Newell of Fort Mill, Marjorie McKinney Cashion of Chevy Chase, Md., Joyce McKinney Smith of Charlotte, Brenda Kay McKinney of Houston and Judy McKinney Thomas of Winston-Salem, N.C. ; and her grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at First Baptist Church.

KERSHAW - Mrs. Eula Viola Payne Faile, 90, of 4442 Duckwood Road died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at the Lancaster Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at White Bluff Baptist Church, with the Revs. James Helms, Tony Hargett and Charles Watkins officiating. Burial will be at White Bluff Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Faile was a daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Minnie Rose Phillips Payne. She was a homemaker and was a member of the White Bluff Baptist Church. She was the widow of Simon Benjamin Faile.
Surviving are her son, Gene C. Faile of Chester; three daughters, Peggy Bowers, Teresa Hudson and Patricia Williams, all of Kershaw; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and other times at the home of Bruce and Teresa Hudson, 4428 Duckwood Road, Kershaw.

Ronnie Howell
FORT MILL - Mr. Ronnie Carroll Howell, 47, of 266 South Road died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Martin officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Howell was a son of Ila Whitley Howell of Rock Hill and the late Ralph W. Howell. He worked for Hoechst Celanese Corp. He was a charter member of LWBB and B Fishing Club and the SPHC Club.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Cheryl Hood Howell; four children, Patrick L. Howell, Lindsay M. Howell and Wendy D. Bass, all of Rock Hill; and Jonathan K. Bass of Fort Mill; two brothers, Michael Howell and Ralph "Sonny" Howell, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Shelvie Jean Faile of Kershaw; and his grandson.

Foster Efird Jr.
LANCASTER - Mr. Foster J. Efird Jr., 72, of 1009 Shady Lane died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Hartley Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Sam Thomas and Frank Lybrand officiating.
A native of Union County, N.C., Mr. Efird was a son of the late Foster Efird Sr. and Ora Efird Short. He was retired from Springs Industries and worked for Security Forces at Morrison Textiles.
Surviving are his wife, Maxine Pardue Efird; his son, Scott Efird of Tehachapi, Calif.; four daughters, Debbie Ray of Columbia, Toni E. Barrett and Cynthia H. Watkins, both of Lancaster, and Vickie H. Ferguson of Gilbert; his sister, Sara Allen of Rockingham, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.

Arthur Morris
EDGEMOOR - Mr. Arthur Woodrow Morris, 52, of 3962 Berryhill Road died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at home.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Morris was a son of Minnie Rainey Morris of Edgemoor and the late Woodrow Wilson Morris. He was a former employee of Manetta Mills and Crenco Convenience Stores. He attended the Lando Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his brother, William Jack Morris of Lancaster, and his sister, Elizabeth Morris Gee of Lando.
