Mae Moore
ATLANTA - Mrs. Mae Rose Barber Moore, 81, of 547 Lige Street died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Sadie G. Mayes Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barber Memorial Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of York County, Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late James Moore and Lula Douglas Moore. She was a member of St. Matthew's AME Zion Church and was the widow of the late Rufus Grady Moore.
Surviving are her son, Rufus Aldon Moore of Atlanta, and two grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at Robinson Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. today and until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will receive friends at the home.

A.C. Phillips
CLOVER - Mr. A.C. "Paw-Paw" Phillips, 74, of 109 Mobley Street died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, N.C.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowling Green, with the Rev. Milton Key officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Phillips was a son of the late Green Phillips and Sarah Hefner Phillips. He was a WWII veteran and was retired from Ti-Caro. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowling Green and was a member of Clover Zion Church Aid Society No. 11.
Survived are two daughters, Sarah E. Phillips of the home and Sara H. Davis of Gastonia; his son, Willie G. Phillips of Clover; 11 sisters, Ella Phillips, Mary McCleave, Bertha McCleave, Alice McCleave and Edna McDowell, all of Clover, Gracie Hand and Betty Phillips, both of Belmont, N.C., Sarah Lee Dowtin of Staten Island, N.Y., Irene Brown of Gastonia, Willie Russell of Kannapolis, N.C., and Leola Hall of Ferndale, Mich.; his brothers, James Phillips of Belmont; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 tonight at Generation Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from 1 to 9:30 p.m. today.

Karisia Jefferis
ELYRIA, Ohio - Karisia "Kari" Marie Jefferis, 7, formerly of Chester County, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland.
The funeral will be 8 p.m. at the Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel in Elyria. Burial will be in Fort Mill.
A native of Rock Hill, Karisia was a daughter of William D. Jefferis of Chester County and Sherry Jefferis of Elyria.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two sisters, Mikki Jefferis of Chester County and Shannon Jefferis of Elyria; three brothers, Billy Jefferis, Brandon Jefferis and Devin Jefferis, all of Chester County; paternal grandparents, Bill and Barbara Ashworth of Chester County; and her maternal grandmother, Dora Faile of Clover.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel and from 6 p.m. until the time of the service.

Lawrence Burris Jr.
SHARON - Mr. Lawrence "Junior" Burris Jr., 69, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Dowell Baptist Church in McConnells, with the Rev. A. J. Rollinson officiating and the Rev. Dennis McCleave assisting. Eulogy will be delivered by the Rev. George Lowry. Burial will be at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Burris was a son of the late Lawrence Burris and Margaret Love Burris. He was a self-employed logger.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy McKnight Burris; six sons, James Eugene Burris and Dwayne Lamar Burris, both of York, Deret Lee Burris, Marshall Dwight Burris and Robert Levon Burris, all of the home, and Ishmeal Prelou Burris of Rock Hill; three daughters, Mary Lean Douglas of York, Linda Regina Burris of Sharon and Leslie Devora Burris of the home; seven brothers, Columbus Burris, James Burris, Bobby G. Burris, Charlie Burris and David Burris, all of Sharon, George Burris of McConnells and Johnny Burris of York; five sisters, Margaret Clara Gwinn and Sallie Burris, both of York, and Lillie Simpson, Bessie Wilson and Margaret Mary Burris, all of Sharon; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Robert Couch
KERSHAW - Mr. Robert Couch, 69, of 6505 Springs St. died Monday, March 26, 2001, at home.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Couch was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Emmie Shehan Couch. He was a Navy veteran and a truck driver for Global Van Lines.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Couch and Ernie Couch, both of Glen Burnie, Md.; his daughter, Carsliee Vingremm of Maryland; five brothers, G.C. Couch of Chester, Eugene Couch of Franklin, N.C., and James Couch, Wilbur Couch and David Couch, all of Lancaster; three sisters, Della Adams of Rock Hill, Marie Phillips of Kershaw and Betty Cauthen of Lancaster; and his special friend and companion, Helen Bowman.
The family will receive friends after the service at Second Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 800 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
Arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home.

H. Fred Hassenplug
ROCK HILL - Mr. H. Fred Hassenplug, 79, of 835 Lucas St., Apt. 104, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with Dr. William Pender officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Milton, Penn., Mr. Hassenplug was a son of the late Leon Hassenplug and Ethel Worg Hassenplug. He retired from Winthrop College in 1985 after 19 years as a professor of mathematics. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1945 and served aboard the submarine Pintado during World War II. He received his master's degree from Purdue University in 1960. He was a member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1318, Frank Roach American Legion Post 34, VFW Post No. 2889, the Oasis Shrine Club of York County, Howard Masonic Lodge No. 93 in Kokomo, Indiana, and the Scottish Rites in Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife, Louise R. Hassenplug.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and after the memorial service.

Bill Moye Jr.
CHESTER - Mr. Bill Moye Jr., 49, of 931 Pinckney Road died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at West Side Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Chester, Mr. Moye was a son of Albert William "Bill" Moye Sr. and Dora Bass Moye of Chester. He was co-owner of Black Construction Co. and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Chester High School and also attended the University of South Carolina. He was president of Dixie Youth Pony League. He was a baseball coach for the Colt League and a former coach for Packer Football.
Surviving are his wife, Janet McManus Moye; his son, Nick Moye of Chester; his sister, Debra M. Dove of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Beatrice Watson
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Beatrice Jackson Watson, of 238 Cornelius Drive died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Hopewell Baptist Church in Chester County, with the Rev. J. D. Burris officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Watson was a daughter of the late Ellen Foster Jackson and Phil Jackson. She was the widow of Lonnie Watson. She attended public schools of Chester County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where she was a member of the senior hymn choir and usher board. She was a member of the AP&B society.
Surviving are her son, Willie J. Peterson of the home; her sister, Genever Thompson of Rock Hill; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 50 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Robinson Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Roy Graham
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Rev. Roy Graham, 77, formerly of Great Falls, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Burial will be at V.A. Cemetery in Virginia.
A native of Fairfield County, the Rev. Graham was a son of the late Leroy Graham and Ethel Coard Graham. He was a member of Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church and was a former member of Loving Charity Baptist Church in Richburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Graham of Washington, D.C.; his brother, the Rev. Roosevelt Graham of Crestville, Md.; three sisters, Etta Mae Kelly of Charlotte, Hazel Lewis of Salisbury, N.C., and Doris Lewis of Richburg.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Friday at Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church, 67 End St. N.W., Washington, D.C.
King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge of local arrangements.

Virgil Jenkins
LANCASTER - Mr. Virgil "Landon" Jenkins, 80, of 2125 Old Camden-Monroe Highway in the Tradesville Community died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brad Threatt and Bennie Barwick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Jenkins was a son of the late DeWitt Jenkins and Connie Funderburk Jenkins. He was the former owner of Jenkins Garage and Jenkins Grocery and was the owner of Jenkins Auto Sales. He was retired from the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. He was a member of Lancaster Commandry of Knights Temple, Scottish Rite, and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was past master of Wannamaker Lodge No. 329. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member of the senior adults and was a former deacon. He was the widower of Mabry J. Jenkins.
Surviving are his daughter, Gloria Brann of Lancaster; his sister, Mary Ella McManus of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

John Lees
SMYRNA - Mr. John Samuel Lees, 74, of 650 Mavern Road died Monday, March 26, 2001, at home.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, with Peter Lee officiating.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Lees was a son of the late Francis Lees and Margaret McMullan Lees. He was a retired truck driver at Branch Trucking Co. and was a house painter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his son, John F. Lees of Pennsville, N.J.; two daughters, Dorothy L. Myers of Smyrna and Elieen L. Heiber of Bear, Del.; two brothers, Joseph Lees and William Lees, both of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home in York.

Jemmi Lehman
SANFORD, N.C. - Jemmi Carroll Lehman, 43, died Sunday, March 25, 2001.
A native of Spartanburg, Mrs. Lehman was a daughter of Virginia Ivey of Pacolet.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her daugher, Ginny Phillips of Sanford; two brothers, Don Sinclair of Chester and John Ridings of Orlando, Fla.; her sister, Susan Ridings of Sanford; and her grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

Floyd Milem Sr.
YORK - Mr. Floyd Kenneth Milem Sr., 71, of 1778 Sutton Springs Road died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Barnes officiating and the Rev. Harold Walters assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Kannapolis, N.C., Mr. Milem was a son of the late James Hansford Milem and Verdie Riggs Milem. He was a retired truck driver at Moss Trucking in Charlotte, was the former owner of Parkwood Appliance Services and formerly worked in the finishing department at Cannon Mills Plant No. 1 in Kannapolis. He was former treasurer of the Parkwood Sanitary District. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacons, Sunday school director and teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Faye Greene Milem; two sons, Floyd "Ken" Milem Jr. and Keith H. Milem, both of York; two daughters, Cassandra M. Torrence of York and Capricia M. Fox of Smyrna; two brothers, Ray Milem and Marvin Milem, both of Kannapolis; his sister, Dorothy M. Branham of China Grove, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at home.
