Eugene Wheeler
GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Eugene Jimmy Wheeler, 56, of 607 Wellons Drive died Monday, March, 26, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowling Green, with Dr. Milton Key officiating. Burial will be at St. John Baptist Church cemetery in Sharon.
A native of Camden, Mr. Wheeler was a son of Ella M. Wheeler of Patterson, N.J. He was a building contractor. He was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Patterson, where he was chairman of the trustee board and secretary of the board of deacons. He later joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, the Rev. Bessie Jamison Wheeler; three sons, Ernest B. Wheeler of Bronx, N.Y., Eugene M. Wheeler of Patterson, N.J., and Eric Wheeler of Beaumont, Texas; two brothers, Larry Wheeler of Tampa, Fla., and John E. Wheeler of Bossier City, La.; four sisters, Ella Palmer, Elaine Palmer and Andrea Harris, all of Patterson, N.J., and Mary Thompson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and his grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Robert Robinson
LANCASTER - Mr. Robert R. "Bobby" Robinson, 42, of 2538 Charlotte Hwy. died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Hartley Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ray Cureton officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Robinson was a son of Joanne Lucas Robinson Sanders of Chesapeake, Va., and the late Frank Robinson. He was a retired forklift operator and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church in Van Wyck.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Adelheid "Heidi" F. Robinson; his daughter, Christina E. Robinson of Lancaster; his brother, Jamie Young of Chesapeake; his sister, Robin R. Davis of Cleveland, N.C.; two stepsons, Marvin Fitzgerald Jr. of Lancaster and Michael J. Fitzgerald of Dayton, Tenn.; and four stepgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy.

Judy Webb
CHESTER - Mrs. Judy Webb, formerly of Roxboro, N.C., of 826 Armory Road died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at home.
A private memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Darby's Cemetery.
A native of Roxboro, N.C., Mrs. Webb was a daughter of the late Lemuel Webb and Ida Louise Webb. She was a heavy equipment operator.
Surviving are her daughter, Tiffany Webb of Chester.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her daughter, Tiffany Webb, 826 Armory Road, Chester.

Donovan Avant
LANCASTER - Mr. Donovan Rufus Avant, 78, of 225 Rickenbacker St. died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. D.L. Erickson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Avant was a son of the late Brewster Virdell and Isilta Belle Cribb. He was a self-employed piano tuner and technician and worked for Holloway Music in Monroe. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Rock Hill. He was the widower of Merle Doris Whitsett.
Surviving are his son, Dennis Avant of Charlotte; three daughters, Janet Snellman of Medicine Lake, Mont., Jeannie Corzo of Charlotte and Anna Smith of Waynesboro, N.C.; his brother, Robert Avant of Lancaster; his sister, Lydia Lambert of Georgetown; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Margurite Boyd
CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Margurite Dale Howie Boyd, 80, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A memorial service will be11 a.m. Saturday at the sanctuary of Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Boyd was a daughter of the late Zimmer H. Howie and Hattie Whitley Howie. She was a retired cafeteria manager at South Mecklenburg High School, with more than 20 years of service. She was an active member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Smith Franklin Boyd.
Surviving are her son, Jerry Boyd of Claremont, N.C.; her daughter, Mrs. Dale White of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her brother, Zimmer H. Howie Jr. of North Hollywood, Calif.; three grandchildren; and her great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at McEwen Pineville Chapel.

Lillian Lilly
SNELLVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Lillian Frances Hice Lilly, 87, of 1319 Jarmar Road died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Emory East Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Alan Price officiating. Burial will be at Union Baptist Church cemetery in York.
Mrs. Lilly was a daughter of the late James Alexander Hice and Maude Luola Tucker Hice. She was a retired nurse and was retired from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte.
Surviving are her son, James W. Lilly of Snellville; her sister, Maude Mullis of Charlotte; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church, P.O. Box 976, York, SC 29745.

Florence Lee
CHESTER - Mrs. Florence Rogers Lee, 83, formerly of Rock Hill, of 144 West End St. died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Newberry Memorial Hospital in Newberry.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Marc Mason officiating.
A native of Spartanburg County, Mrs. Lee was a daughter of the late Dewitt Talmadge Rogers and Ola Rogers Wright and her maternal grandparents who reared her, Francis Marion Wright and Susan Matilda Gentry Wright. She was a retired secretary and was a homemaker. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. She was the widow of Richard Dixon, with whom she was married for 57 years.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Lee of Chester; and her granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at home.

Charles Cameron
CHESTER - Mr. Charles Earl "Buddy" Cameron, 62, of 115 Hemphill Ave. died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia.
A native of Buncombe, N.C., Mr. Cameron was a son of William Cameron and Artie Brown Walden. He retired from Springs Industries and attended First Baptist Church. He graduated from Chester High School and York Technical College. He attended the University of South Carolina. He was a National Guard veteran and was a member of Chester Golf Club.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Terry Moss Cameron; two sons, Luke Cameron and Chuck Cameron, both of Chester; his daughter, Jane Gibson of Chester; his brother, Larry Brown of Asheville, N.C.; two half-brothers, Sidney Welch of Chester and Sam Walden of Asheville, N.C.; and three half-sisters, Becky Middleton, Kathy Cochran and Karen Moore, all of Asheville, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Ida Caldwell
YORK - Mrs. Ida Castle Caldwell, 84, of White Oak Manor died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Langrum Branch Baptist Church in York, with Dr. Osbey Roddey officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Caldwell was a daughter of the late Arthur Castle and Sophie Hughes Castle. She was a homemaker and was a member of Langrum Branch Baptist Church. She was a member of the Langrum Branch B. & A. Society. She was the widow of Will Caldwell.
Surviving are her son, Jeremiah Castle of York; her daughter, Rosa Lee Adams of Catawba; three sisters, the Rev. Mozell Castle of York, Lizzie Castle of Bronx, N.Y., and Levell Garvin of Washington, D.C.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, the Rev. Mozelle Castle, 8 Center St., York.
The body may be viewed from
6 to 7 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Eula Faulkenberry
LANCASTER - Mrs. Eula Mae Faulkenberry, 75, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at the Lancaster Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Thurmond Johnson. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Church cemetery in Kershaw.
A native of Camden, Mrs. Faulkenberry was a daughter of the late Lonnie Lemuel Gardner and Essie Love Gardner. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Kershaw. She was the widow of Curtis Lee Faulkenberry.
Surviving are two brothers, Bruce Gardner of Lancaster and David D. Gardner of Columbia; four sisters, Ethel Yarbrough of Great Falls, Daisy B. Funderburk and Patricia Blackmon, both of Lancaster, and Mary Louise Ross of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Martha Palmer
SANDY SPRINGS - Mrs. Martha Buchanan Palmer, 76, of 120 Circle Drive died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at the Hospice House.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, with the Revs. Scotty Hendricks, Sam Chasteen and Thad Ellett officiating. Burial will be at Welcome Baptist Church cemetery.
A native of Anderson, Mrs. Palmer was a daughter of the late Samuel J. Buchanan and Sallie Williams Buchanan. She was a retired business owner and was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. She was the widow of Thomas Whitt Palmer.
Surviving are her sister, Evelyn LeGrande of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today.
The family will be at the home of her daughter-in-law, Carol Palmer, 1405 Sandy Springs Road.

Robert Allison
GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Robert Arthur "Rip" Allison, 68, of 104 South Vance St. died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home chapel in York, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.
A native of York County, Mr. Allison was a son of the late Olin Allison and Edna Woody Allison. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Hattie Phillips Allison; his son, Arthur Lee Allison; his sister, Lela McDaniel of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Wright Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Charles Barrett Jr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. Charles J. "Chuck" Barrett Jr., 39, of 1060 Dunlap Roddey Road died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral was Friday, March 23, 2001, at St. Mary's Church in Warren, Ohio.
A native of Warren, Mr. Barrett was a son of Charles J. Barrett Sr. and Rose Marcenzo. He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and was a slitter operator at Worthington Steel Corp. in Rock Hill and formerly worked at Liberty Steel Corp. in Hubbard, Ohio. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill and St. Mary's Church in Warren. He was a member of National Riffle Association and was a Harley-Davidson "Hog" owner group member. Surviving in addition to his parents are two sons, Eric Barrett and Charles Angelo Barrett, both of the home; his brother, Vincent A. Barrett of Cortland, Ohio; his sister, Bernadette Luoma of Meadville, Pa.; and his companion, Debra Geddes Barrett of Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church Renovation Fund, 232 Seneca Ave. NE, Warren, Ohio, 44481.
