LAKE WYLIE - Mrs. Mary Jo "Jody" Lay O'Neil, 53, of 5878 Highway 49 died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, Rock Hill, with the Rev. Randy Madsen officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. O'Neil was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star and Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Lake Wylie.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas "Tom" C. O'Neil; her parents, Homer A. and Dorothy Hill Lay of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; three sons, Tom O'Neil and John O'Neil, both of the home, and Corey Studer of Swanton, Ohio; two daughters, Annie O'Neil of the home and Tammy Studer of Swanton; three brothers, Homer Lay of Zephyr Hills, Larry Lay of Toledo and Gary Lay of Crystal River, Fla.; two sisters, Chris Ferrell and Darlene Finley, both of New Port Richey, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home.

Annie Faulkner
CARLISLE - Mrs. Annie Mae Widener Faulkner, 90, of 4339 Faulkner Road died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Chester County Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cool Branch Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Epps officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Faulkner was a daughter of the late Solomon and Laura Smith Widener. She attended Fairfield County schools and was retired from Springs Industries. She was a charter member of Eastern Star Coleman Chapter 261 and Cool Branch Baptist Church.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Valaree Wagner and Ola Shugart, both of Carlisle; and her stepbrother, Ellis Faulkner Sr. of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Rosa Wilmore
GREAT FALLS - Ms. Rosa "Nank" Wilmore of 2631 Georgetown Road died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Great Falls, with the Rev. J.A. McFarlan officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Great Falls, Ms. Wilmore was a daughter of the late Allen and Phyllis Boulware Wilmore. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann McCullough of Great Falls; two brothers, Roosevelt Wilmore of Philadelphia and Henry Wilmore of Great Falls; two sisters, Mary W. Cloud of Great Falls and Barbara Watson of New Jersey; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. today.

Bertha Henkle
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Bertha Dellinger Henkle, 81, formerly of Belmont, N.C., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Altera Sterling House.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Belmont, with the Rev. Bob Little officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Henkle was a daughter of the late John E. Dellinger and Lula Hager Dellinger. She was the widow of John Lamar Henkle Sr. She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Pioneer Girl Scouts Council and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belmont.
Surviving are her daughter, Ann H. Kitts of Rock Hill; her son, John L. Henkle Jr. of Mount Holly, N.C., her brother, Jimmy Dellinger of Huntersville, N.C.; and her sister, Beatrice Gordon of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.

James McKay Sr.
CHESTER - Mr. James Benjamin McKay Sr., 87, of 763 Pinckney St. died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Scoggins officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Johnson City, Tenn., Mr. McKay was the son of the late Robert Henry McKay and Jo Ana Sherrill McKay. He was the widower of Johnnie Mae Hopper McKay. He attended school in Johnson City and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from J.P. Stevens Company.
Surviving is his son, James B. "Benny" McKay Jr. of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Mary H. Miller
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Mary H. Miller, formerly of 122 Rock St., died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance, with the Rev. Daniel Chisholm officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove AME Zion Church cemetery in Chester.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Miller was a daughter of the late Sam and Adeline Boyd Hope. She attended Chester County schools. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, AP&B Society and Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late John Miller.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Washington of Rock Hill; her brother, Sam Hope Jr. of Rock Hill; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 tonight at Robinson Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Macie Wilson
YORK - Mrs. Macie Shannon Wilson, 72, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Langrum Branch Baptist Church, with Dr. Osbey Roddey officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of the late Sam Shannon and Belle Carter Shannon. She was a homemaker and was a member of Langrum Branch Baptist Church, where she was a missionary and a former member of the hymn choir.
Surviving are two sons, Vincent Wilson and Willie Lee Wilson, both of York; her daughter, Alberta W. Anthony of York; her brother, Sam Shannon Jr. of Charlotte; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Wright Funeral Home is in charge.

Vanessa Campbell
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Vanessa Campbell, 40, of 4191 Overlook Road died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Chester County.
Arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

June Davidson
YORK - Mrs. June Steele Davidson, 68, of 6145 Campbell Road died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Sam McGregor officiating.
A native of York County, Mrs. Davidson was the widow of Dean Davidson.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherrie D. Williams of York; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the home.

Louise Atkinson
CHESTER - Mrs. Louise "Weezie" Bass Atkinson, 46, of 1344 Willis Road died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Armenia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fant Steele officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Atkinson was a daughter of Wylie Bass Sr. and Alice Thomason Bass, both of Chester. She was owner and operator of Weezies D.J. and Karaoke and was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church. She was a Chester High School graduate.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, George W. Atkinson III; her son, G. W. Atkinson IV of Chester; two daughters, Mary Alice Langley and Crystal Williford, both of Chester; her brother, Wylie Bass Jr. of York; four sisters, Barbara "Bobbie" Maloney of Rock Hill, Sarah Walker of Lockhart, Carol Causey of Carlisle and Susie Thompson of Chester; her stepdaughter, Ginger A. Darby of Chester; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Mozelle Bullard
KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Mrs. Mozelle Lovelace Bullard, 76, of 406 Tate Terrace died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Eastview Baptist Church cemetery in Rock Hill, with the Revs. Eddie Gray and Rick Martin officiating.
A native of York County, Mrs. Bullard was a daughter of the late Lonzo H. Lovelace and Geneva Putnam Lovelace. She was the widow of Raymond T. Bullard. She was a member of the Missionary Methodist Church in Kings Mountain and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her son, Capt. Raymond C. Bullard of Niceville, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Bullard Elkins of Rock Hill and Annie Bullard Lowe of Kings, Mountain; her brother, the Rev. L. H. Lovelace of Clover; four sisters, Colleen Ballew of Durham, N.C., Louise Dover of Kings Mountain, and Mary Sue Quinn and Elizabeth Gilpen, both of Panama City, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain and at other times at home.

James Craven Sr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. James Russell Craven Sr., 69, of 225 Dotson St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001,at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamer Creek Baptist Church in Mount Gilead, N.C., with the Rev. Alex Willoughby officiating.
A native of Montgomery County, N.C., Mr. Craven was a son of the late James L. Craven and Bessie Russell Craven. He was a 1950 graduate of Mount Gilead High School. He was a retired supervisor in the Rock Hill sanitation department. He was a former employee of Stovall Wolfe Ford Co. and the city of Albemarle, N.C. He was a member of West Albermarle Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are three sons, James "Jimmy" R. Craven Jr. of Martinsville, Va., Staff Sgt. Fred E. Craven of Carlsbad, Calif. and Danny W. Craven of Albemarle; his daughter, Debbie S. Craven of Albemarle; three stepdaughters, Janet L. Vick of Norwood, N.C., Pam L. Crowder of Cheraw and Hope L. Hill of Albemarle; two foster sisters, Margaret Talbert of Salisbury, N.C., and Hilda Talbert of Bennettsville; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Stanly Funeral Home.
The body will remain at the funeral home until it is taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before service.

Frank Crawford
NEWBERRY - Mr. Frank A. Crawford, of 1411 Azalea Drive died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Springfield Place.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Herman Lutheran Church cemetery in Peak, with the Rev. Herb Zeigler officiating.
A native of Filbert, Mr. Crawford was the widower of Kathryn Edison Crawford. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of Aveleigh Presbyterian Church. He was a retired shift foreman at Exxon Corp. He was a member of the Exxon Annuitants Club.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Boggs Oxner Crawford; two sons, Francis Allen Crawford of Charleston and Jack E. Crawford of Peak; his daughter, Patricia C. Combs of Lexington; three brothers, Walker Crawford of Lancaster, Hubert Crawford of Clover and Meek Crawford of Newport News, Va.; two stepsons, Robert Oxner of Fort Mill and Jerry Oxner of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jack Crawford, 1524 R. Stoudemayer Road, Little Mountain.

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Donnie Junior Freeman, 52, of 114 Dana Lane died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Lee officiating.
A native of York County, Mr. Freeman was a son of Reba Croft Holliman of Rock Hill and the late Mack Freeman. He was a maintenance worker at Wykoff in Fort Mill. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his fianceé, Virginia Samples of Gastonia; his daughter, Melissa Walker of Gastonia; two brothers, Freddie Freeman and James "Rocky" Freeman, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Diane Wilson of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
