Ralph Horton
LEXINGTON - Mr. Ralph William Horton, 74, formerly of Rock Hill, died Sunday, April 1, 2001.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Geoffrey Kunselman and Luther Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Wood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Horton was a son of the late Grady L. Horton and Molley Munn Horton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was retired from the state Department of Education.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne Horton of Lexington; three sons, Dr. Walter S. Horton of Maitland, Fla., Keith I. Horton of Rock Hill and William Luke of Red Bank; three daughters, Corinne Wilson of West Columbia, and Helen Harrington and Kathleen Scarano, both of Red Bank; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

Fay Kerr
YORK - Mrs. Fay Christine Johnston Kerr of Hands Mill Highway died Friday, March 30, 2001, at home.
A memorial service was held at Evergreen Burial Park in Mint Hill.
A native of York County, Mrs. Kerr was a daughter of the late John Walter Johnson and Minnie Hand Johnson. She was the widow of Carl B. Kerr and was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Christine Turner and Jean Thomas, both of Clear Creek, N.C., Johnnie Wilder of York and Margaret Watts of Pageland; three sons, Carl B. Kerr Jr. and Herbert B. Kerr, both of Clear Creek, and Gerald L. Kerr of Olympia, Wash.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover, is in charge.

Ronald Schenavar Jr.
YORK - Mr. Ronald Joseph Schenavar Jr., 81, of 378 Howell Road and Saint Helen, Mich., died Thurs-day, March 29, 2001, at home.
The funeral was held in Trenton, Mich. Burial was at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Mich.
A native of Trenton, Mr. Schenavar was a son of the late Ronald Joseph Schenavar and Mabel Mexicotte Schenavar. He was the widower of Florence Mary Webb Schenavar. He was a retired painter and was a member of V.F.W. in Trenton. He was a member of the American Legion and The Moose Lodge in Fort Mill.
Surviving are two sons, Max M. Schenavar of Fort Mill and David Allen Schenavar of St. Helen; three daughters, Gale Ann S. Boisvenue and Linda Marie S. Lawhon, both of Trenton, and Dorothy Ann S. Goodman of Taylor, Mich.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bratton Funeral Home is in charge.

Vanessa Campbell
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Vanessa "Hennie" Campbell, 40, of 308 State St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Chester County.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church in Chester County, with the Rev. James Scott officiating. The Rev. Leroy McCrea will conduct the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Campbell was a daughter of Lonnie Gordon Sr. and Hattie C. Gordon, both of Rock Hill. She was a 1980 graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was a member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, where she sang in the hymn choir.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her son, Tario D. Campbell of Rock Hill; five brothers, Donnie Mahaga Campbell of Beaufort, Edward Gordon of Lancaster, Von Gordon and Lonnie Gordon Jr., both of Rock Hill, and Torrance Gordon of Gastonia, N.C.; and three sisters, Frances Gordon, Maxine Cherry and Gladys H. Sibley, all of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home.

Robert Davis
ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert L. Davis of 756 Patriot Parkway died Tuesday, April, 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Wright Funeral Home, York.

Fannie Ezell
STARTEX - Mrs. Fannie Elizabeth Waters Ezell, 95, of 25 Chestnut St. died Monday, April 2, 2001, at home.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
A native of Cowpens, Mrs. Ezell was a daughter of the late J.E. Waters and Ida Robinson Waters. She retired from Cowpens Elementary School and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Cowpens. She was the widow of Lawrence D. Ezell.
Surviving are her son, Bill Ezell of Startex, her daughter, Anne E. Price of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service.

Wilford Fincher
YORK - Mr. Wilford A. Fincher, 79, of 785 Carson Road died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Richard Campbell VA Nursing Home in Anderson.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Lewis Bozard officiating.
A native of York County, Mr. Fincher was a son of the late Whiteford V. Fincher and Pearl Pate Fincher. He was a retired meat cutter at Harris Teeter.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Carson Fincher of York; his daughter, Patrica F. Kenoyer of Roswell, Ga.; his sister, Flo F. Brazzell of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.

SHARON - Mrs. Estelle King of Cabal Road died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Chester County Hospital in Chester.

Brenda Harris
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Brenda J. Harris, 50, of 372 Baker St. died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Woods officiating and the Rev. Anthony John-son assisting.
A native of York County, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Dorothy Thompson. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. She graduated from Emmett Scott High School. She worked for Laura Ashley in Fort Mill as an auditor.
Surviving are her husband, Larry D. Harris of Charlotte; her son, Bova' D. Harris of Rock Hill; her daughter, Vivian Thompson of the home; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home.

Nadine Hicklin
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Nadine Wellons Hicklin, 84, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at home.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, at Edgemoor ARP Church Cemetery, with Drs. Roy Beckham and Robert J. Robinson officiating.
A native of Waycross, Ga., Mrs. Hicklin was a daughter of the late Luther Edward Wellons and Lizzie Ada Parker Wellons.
Surviving is her son, Walker Hicklin III of New York City.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Bob Langley
HENRIETTA, N.C. - Mr. Bob Langley, 70, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at the Veterans Medical Center in Asheville, N.C.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Harrelson Funeral Home, with a U.S. Army chaplain officiating. Burial will be at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
A native of York County, Mr. Langley was a son of the late Leroy Langley and Modena Jones Langley. He was a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant. He was the widower of Lula Mae "Curly" Pruett Langley.
Surviving are his son, Lester DeWayne Langley of Henrietta; his daughter, Rita Crotts of Blacksburg; his brother, Boyce Langley of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Jerry and Joni Pannell, Radford Road, Ellenboro, NC.

Larry Mayfield
COLUMBIA - Mr. Larry Mayfield of 4909 Fairfield Road, Apt. 105, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Good officiating and the Revs. Frank Moore and Moses Lightner assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Mr. Mayfield was a son of Levi Mayfield of Chester and the late Floria Crank Mayfield. He was a former member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He attended public schools of Chester County and Cedar Springs in Spartanburg. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. He was the widower of Reba Sue Plyler.
Surviving in addition to his father are his son, Derrick Brown of Colum-bia; five brothers, Chris Mayfield, Winfred Mayfield, Elton Mayfield, Paul Mayfield and David Mayfield, all of Chester; five sisters, Shelean Good, Gloria Simpson, Barbara Mayfield, Connie Simpson and Doris Mills, all of Chester; his stepmother, Evelyn Mayfield of Chester; two stepbrothers, Raymond Woods and Ray Woods, both of Chester; two stepsisters, Vivian Mobley of Rock Hill and Jessie Crank of Fairfield; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Levi Mayfield, 107 Graham St., Chester, and at the home of Kamellow Simpson, 115 Shamrock Drive, Chester.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

John McCree Sr.
CHESTER - Mr. John Berry "J.B" Berry McCree Sr., 78, of 1244 Brown-McCullough Road died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Lowrys, with Pastor Bobby Featherstone officiating and the Revs. George Lowry, Joe Lee and O.L. Smith assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. McCree was a son of the late Glenn McCree and Daisy Wilks McCree. He retired from International Piping Supply Co. in Charlotte. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He attended St. Paul School and Finley High School and was a member of the AP&B Society No. 4.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Young McCree; five sons, Clyde McCree of Columbia, J.B. McCree Jr. and William McCree, both of Charlotte, and Charles McCree and Michael McCree, both of Chester; two daughters, Joyce L. Young of Detroit and Helen McCree of the home; three brothers, Glenn McCree and Thelmore McCree, both of Chester, and Samuel Douglas of Ohio; two grandsons whom he reared, Scott McCree and Steven McCree; 29 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Madison McKie
RIVERDALE - Madison Adia Mckie, infant daughter of Kevin Tyrone McKie and Janet Barnett McKie, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge, Ga.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two brothers, Tyron Billingsly and McKenzy McKie, both of the home; her paternal grandparents, Freddie McKie and Sollene McKie, both of Rock Hill; her maternal grandparents, Albert Barnett and Louise Barnett, both of Atlanta; and her great-grandparents, Lillie Allen and Brannice Allen, both of Newnan, Ga.
Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Directors, McDonough, Ga., is in charge.

Mary Paulding
CHESTER - Mrs. Louise Tidwell Paulding, 77, of 942 Holmes Road, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
The family will receive friends at the home of Roger and Darlene P. Owens, 953 Holmes Road.

Peggy Waldrep
CHESTER - Mrs. Peggy Carolyn Simmons Waldrep, 69, of 602 McDowell Drive died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Enoree, Mrs. Waldrep was a daughter of the late Samuel T. Simmons and Annie M. Rook Simmons. She was a retired office supervisor at Chester Metropolitan District. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was the organist. She graduated from Woodruff High School in Woodruff.
Surviving are her husband, Don Waldrep; two sons, Marvin Waldrep and David Waldrep, both of Chester; two daughters, Suzanne W. McKeown of McConnells and Lynne W. Clack of Chester; her sister, Dorothy S. Jolley of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.
