YORK - Mr. Donald Mason Montgomery, 47, of 1600 Mason Montgomery Road died Monday, April 2, 2001.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Ted Cole III officiating.
A native of York, Mr. Montgomery was a son of Andrew R. Montgomery of Clover and Shirley M. Jackson of Hickory Grove. He was a mechanic.
Surviving are his daughter, Shirley Ann Montgomery of Blackville; his brother, Emmett Montgomery of Clover; and three sisters, Vickie Gardner of Covington, Ga., Cheryl Cox of Winston, Ga., and Karen Schultz of York.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 329 Telegraph Drive, Gastonia, NC 28056.

Lillian Weir
BLACKSTOCK - Miss Lillian Weir, 91,of 1546 Hopewell Road died Monday, April 2, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Hopewell ARP Church, with the Rev. Bob Murdock and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Blackstock, Miss Weir was a daughter of the late James Watt Weir Sr. and Edna Whiteside Weir. She was a bookkeeper at Smith Furniture Co. for more than 40 years and retired in 1991. She was a member of Hopewell ARP Church. She graduated from Blackstock High School and attended Erskine College. She was an active member of the Pilot Club in Chester for more than 50 years.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Emily P. Weir of Blackstock; her niece, Frankie Wright; and her caregiver, Lisa McDonald of Blackstock; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at home.

Glen Beer
RICHBURG - Mr. Glen Elroy Beer, 84, of 2696 Mountain Gap Road died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Hebron Presbyterian Church, with Dr. David Riddle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Adams County, Ind., Mr. Beer was a son of the late Wilbert Beer and Della Zucher Beer. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 34, the VFW and the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Idabelle Worthman Beer; his son, Allen Beer of Richburg; his daughter, Janice Carlton of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Dale Beer of Richburg and Gerald Beer of Decatur, Ind.; four sisters, Verna Feasel and Lucille Clem, both of Decatur, Melvenia Hirschy of Monroe, Ind., and Vera Nolan of Serlona, Ohio; three grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home, Great Falls.

Ethel Broughton
KERSHAW - Mrs. Ethel West Broughton, 74, 514 S. Minor St. died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jimmy Hogsed and Hugh McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.
A native of Bethune, Mrs. Broughton was a daughter of the late George West and Virgie Boyce West. She was a weaver at Springs Industries. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was a member of Faithful Witness Sunday school class. She was a member of the WMU.
Surviving are her husband, Furman W. Broughton; her son, Randall W. Broughton of Myrtle Beach; her daughter, Vicky Caughten of Pawleys Island; two brothers, Heyward West and Buck West, both of Bethune; three sisters, Aline W. Mobley of Bethune, and Mary Jane Sowell and Syble W. Sullivan, both of Kershaw; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at home.

Roy Brown
ROCK HILL - Mr. Roy Allen Brown, 53, of Reynolds St. died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
A graveside service will be noon Friday at Barber Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles A. Woods officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Brown was a graduate of Rock Hill High School.
Surviving are his daughter, Kanisha Hinton of Rock Hill; and his grandson.
Clemons Funeral Home is in charge.

Elder Charles Cargile
FORT MILL - Elder Charles Cargile of 207 Smith St. died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.
Arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home, Rock Hill.

Shannon Long
EDGEMOOR - Mr. Shannon David Long, 58, of 5506 Forest Brook Drive died Friday, March 30, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Wright's Home For Funerals, Chester, with the Rev. Bill Fleming officiating.
A native of Hamlet, N.C., Mr. Long was a son of Erma Lou Long of Hamlet and the late Shannon Burnell Long. He was a computer analyst with several banks.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Cheryl Winters Long; and his daughter, Amanda R. Long of Chester.

J. Melvin Fields
ROCK HILL - Mr. J. Melvin Fields, 84, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service was Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro, N.C.
A native of Greensboro, Mr. Fields was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Guilford County Pilots' Association, both in Greensboro. He worked for 28 years at Cone Mills. He retired from JP Stevens Inc. in Rock Hill.
Surviving are his wife, Carol Davis Fields; his son, Thomas Fields of Greensboro; his daughter, Ann Morgan of Greensboro; his sister, Dorothy Pope of Kennesaw, Ga.; four brothers, Robert Fields and John Fields, both of Greensboro, Roy Fields of Callahan, Fla., and George Fields of Plantation, Fla; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joseph Isgett Sr.
PAMPLICO - Mr. Joseph Leroy "Joe" Isgett Sr. died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in a Florence nursing center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pamplico First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
A native of Florence, Mr. Isgett was a son of the late George Clarence Isgett and Martha Coleman Isgett. He was a retired farmer and carpenter and was a member of the Pamplico First Baptist Church. He was the widower of Gertrude Ozella Burrows Isgett.
Surviving are three sons, Legrand Isgett, Leonard Isgett and Bobby Isgett, all of Pamplico; six daughters, Dorothy Poole of Sumter, Christine Floyd of Garner, N.C., Janice Baggett of North Augusta, Gloria Lewis of Effingham, Martha Jo Sutton of Pamplico and Sybil Fields of Rock Hill; his brother, Bertis Isgett of Pamplico; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Morris Funeral Home.

Charlie Mackey Sr.
LANCASTER - Mr. Charlie H. Mackey Sr., 86, of 648 Cunningham Road died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Mount Zion AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dr. Jewett Walker officiating. Burial will be at the Centennial AME Zion Church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mr. Mackey was a son of the late Columbus Mackey and Lula Bailey Mackey. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mount Zion AME Zion Church.
Surviving are his wife, Birda J. Mackey; his son, Charlie H. Mackey Jr. of Lancaster; three daughters, Birda M. Gaddy, Jane M. Hood and Gloria M. Gordon, all of Lancaster; and his sister, Lillie Mae Young of Lancaster.
Crawford Funeral Home is in charge.

Faye Hill
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Faye Read Hill, 69, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church.

LANCASTER - Mrs. Wilma Massey Sinclair, 85, of Shiloh Unity Road died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mahaffey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Thurman Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Sinclair was a daughter of the late Ben Calvin and Effie Jane Sinclair Massey. She was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of Clark Charles Sinclair.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Louis Sinclair and Danny James Sinclair, both of Lancaster, and Timmy Sinclair of Pageland; seven daughters, Mildred Hefner and Patricia Whitaker, both of Lancaster, Rachel Adams of Kershaw, Freida Wright, Janice Snipes and Judy Robertson, all of Lancaster, and Sonja Clark of Kershaw; two brothers, Bill Massey of Lancaster and Billy Jack Massey of Great Falls, two sisters, Dolly Walker of Clover and Beatrice Gurganious of Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

CLOVER - Mrs. Annie Monroe Wiley died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Beverly Health Center in Rock Hill.

James Steffes
MONROE, N.C. - Mr. James "Jim" Anton Steffes, 60, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Union Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, with family members and friends officiating. Burial will be at Lakeland Memorial Park, with full military rites.
A native of Traverse City, Mich., Mr. Steffes was a son of the late Otto James Steffes and Lois Lardie Steffes. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and worked as an inside sales manager at Dunn Manufacturing Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Isenhour Steffes; three daughters, Kim S. Farnham of Washington, Bonnie Steffes of Arizona and Niki Newell of Rock Hill; three sons, Tony Steffes of Arizona, Chris Price of Monroe and Randy Steffes of Rock Hill; two brothers, Joe Steffes and Tommy Steffes, both of Michi-gan; his sister, Dayle Steffes of Michigan; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Davis Funeral Home.
