Lottie Wade
AIKEN - Mrs. Lottie Faye Barry Wade, 90, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at home.
The funeral was Saturday at Grace Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Jim Hope and John M. Warren Jr. officiating. Burial was at Aiken Memorial Gardens.
A native of York County, Mrs. Wade was a daughter of the late Thomas Samuel Barry and Eva Jackson Barry. She was a 1931 graduate of Winthrop College. She taught school for 31 years, many of those at Leavelle McCampbell High School, as well as the Aiken High School summer program and Aiken Adult Education. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and was an active "Meals on Wheels" volunteer for 11 years. She was the widow of Francis C. Wade.
Surviving are her son, Charles Barry Wade of Aiken; her daughter, Betsy Wade Greene of Aiken; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Stewart Cottage, Thornwell Orphanage, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, SC 29325.

William Wilson
ROCK HILL - Mr. William Frank Wilson, 78, of 2123 Ridgecrest Road died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Sturgis officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
A native of Timmonsville, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Robert Stroman Wilson and Jeddie Mae Mims Wilson. He sold welding supplies and played baseball for the Palmetto League. He was a member of the Rock Hill Rescue Squad and the Bethesda Fire Department, with 20 years of service. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was the widower of Corda Kessinger Wilson.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Bethesda Fire Department, 1705 Hwy. 324, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

John Thomas Jr.
CHESTER - Mr. John Thomas Jr. of 212 Sarah St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.
The family will receive friends at the home of Carrie Thomas, 214 Peyton St.

CLOVER - Mrs. Ina A. Jackson, 97, of 113 Mobley St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.

COLUMBIA - Mr. Larry May-field of 4909 Fairfield Road Apt. 105 Church Hill Place died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at his home.
The family will receive friends at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Mayfield of 107 Graham St., Chester.

Garlitia Howze
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Garlitia Howze, 57, of 420 Walnut St. died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Parker Funeral Home.

Frank Wilson

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Geneva Foster Austin, 88, of 408 Hagins St. died Monday, April 2, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Red Hill Baptist Church in Fairfield County, with Pastor McCurklen officiating. Burial will be at Red Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Fairfield County.
A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Austin was a daughter of the late Burl Foster and Easter J. Foster. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church in Fairfield County. She was a member of the Elks.
Surviving is her sister, Susan F. Sanders of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home.

John Thomas Jr.
CHESTER - Mr. John Thomas Jr. of 212 Sarah St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Christopher King's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Moses Lightner officiating. Burial will be at Benson Cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Thomas was a son of the late Mamie Collins Thomas and John Thomas Sr. He attended the schools of Chester County and served in the U.S. Army in southern France. He received four Bronze Service Stars and an American Service Medal.
Surviving are his son, William Thomas of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Thomas and Floyd Thomas, both of Chester; and two sisters, Betty Jeter and Delia Mae Aiken, both of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from the home of Carrie Thomas, 212 Peyton St., Chester.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday.

Faye Hill
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Faye Read Hill, 69, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Horton officiating.
A native of Appalachia, Va., Mrs. Hill was a daughter of the late Tom Skeen and Vennie Skeen of Appalachia. She was an active member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Women's Circle. She was a 1953 graduate of the University of Tennessee. She was a social worker with child and family services in Knoxville, Tenn., for 20 years. She was active in the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) and HOPE House. She was the widow of Austin Read.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Y. Hill of Rock Hill; two sons, Tom Read of Knoxville and J. Michael Read of San Diego, Calif.; her stepdaughter, Candace H. Cleary of Lawrenceburg, Ky.
The family will receive friends after the service in the church parlor.

Robert Davis
ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Lee "Pop" Davis, 70, of 3015 York Highway died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Wright Funeral Home in York, with the Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York.
A native of York, Mr. Davis was a son of the late John Davis and Geneva Mobley Davis. He lived and worked in Seat Pleasant, Md., for 20 years before returning to Rock Hill, where he retired from the stucco business. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the widower of Marjorie Louise Tolbet Davis.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Logan and Robin Tynes, both of Rock Hill, and Helen Blake of Gastonia, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Cheryl Logan, 1201 Colby Ave.

5 to 7 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in York.

Estellar King
SHARON - Mrs. Estellar "Estelle" King, 79, of 4354 Cabal Road in the Thompson Quarter community died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Chester County Hospital in Chester.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hopewell Baptist Church, with the Rev. Raymond Davis officiating and the Rev. Cordell Lindsey assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Bullocks Creek, Mrs. King was a daughter of the late Oscar Moore and Willie Aslee Brown Moore. She was a member of Mount Hopewell Baptist Church in Sharon and attended Sunday school.
Surviving are three sisters, Leathia Craig, Margaret Wilson and Patricia Wilson, all of Sharon.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, York, and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Nancy Sanders
ROCK HILL - Minister Nancy Worthy Sanders of Saluda Road died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.W. Thompson officiating and Roosevelt Adams and Roslyn Wilson assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Minister Sanders was a daughter of the late Lila Land Worthy and Willie D. Worthy. She attended the public schools of Chester County and graduated from Finley High School in 1960. She joined Red Hill Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she served as associate minister and usher. She was a member of the Missionary Society and was a member of the A.P. & B. Society, the Sunday school and Bible study. She attended the Bible study at Nazareth Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Crawford Sanders; two sons, Robert Sanders and Dennis Sanders, both of Rock Hill; her brother, John Worthy of Elizabeth, N.J.; three sisters, Bessie Worthy of Chester, Lillie Smith and Mary Wilson, both of Elizabeth; her stepmother, Ruby M. Worthy of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the homes of Crawford Sanders, 4315 Saluda Road, Dennis Sanders, 4323 Saluda Road and Robert Sanders, 4124 Overlook Road.
The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today.
The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.

William Gardner Sr.
VERO BEACH, FLA. - Mr. William Richard Gardner Sr., 60, of 485 53rd Square died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.
Arrangements will be announced at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, Rock Hill.

Don Boler
ROCK HILL - Mr. Don Boler, 41, of 103 Mays Court died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Clyde Raymon officiating and the Rev. Loretta Adams assisting.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Boler was a son of Isabelle Boler. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was an electrician and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his son, Derrick Gordon of Rock Hill; three daughters, Latasha Ussery, Deronda Ussery and Whitney Ussery, all of Rock Hill; two brothers, Ricky Boler and Darry Boler, both of Rock Hill; his sister, Philsonia Burris of Rock Hill; and his companion, Rita Ussery of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home.

Leona Watts
FORT MILL - Mrs. Leona Green Watts, 84, of 405 Harris St. died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Monson and the Rev. Joseph Tysinger officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.
A native of Wadley, Ga., Mrs. Watts was a daughter of the late James Reuben Green and Bertha Laney Green. She was retired from Springs Industries, where she worked for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and the Fannie Lytle Circle.
Surviving are her husband of
62 years, James Paul Watts; her daughter, Patricia Sweet of Rock Hill; her sister, Lucille Wilson of Indian Land; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at home.

Charles Cargile
FORT MILL - Elder Charles Cargile of 207 Smith St. died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Born Church of the Apostolic Faith in Rock Hill. The eulogy will be conducted by Bishop Phillip F. Cargile Sr., with Minister Carolyn McEntyre and Apostle Norman Brake assisting.
A native of Fulton County, Ga., Elder Cargile was the son of the late Sesser Cargile and Ella Cargile. He was a member of First Born Church of the Apostolic Faith, where he was an elder. He served on the trustee board and was a district elder, supervisor and superintendent of the Sunday school. He was head of the Minister's Auxiliary. He was a member of the Linden, N.J. Police Auxiliary and was a former Mason. He was a chef and previously worked for H.L. Green, Kalco Corp. and Middlesex General Hospital in New Jersey. He was retired as first chef at Wakefern Food Corp. in Elizabeth, N.J. He also was retired from Paramount's Carowinds. He was a former pastor of The First Pentecostal Church of God in Elizabeth, N.J. He was the widower of Derris Pittman.
Surviving are two sons, Herbert Cargile and the Rev. Phillip F. Cargile Sr., both of Fort Mill; his adopted son, Minister Norman Brake of Rock Hill; his daughter, Dolores G. Battle of Rock Hill; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 102 Fox Run Drive, Fort Mill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jesus Christ Healing Foundation, Faith, P.O. Box 1081, Fort Mill, SC.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Ollie McCollum of 303 Barnes St. died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Annie Wiley
CLOVER - Mrs. Annie Monroe Wiley died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Beverly Health Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Clover Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Amiri B. Hooker officiating. Burial will be at Dixon Cemetery in Orangeburg.
A native of Ninety Six, Mrs. Wiley was a daughter of the late Foster Wiley and Marie Blalock Wiley. She was a member of Clover Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Benjamin F. Wiley.
Surviving are her son, Leslie Anthony Wiley of San Antonio; her caregiver, Maggie M. Pasley of Clover; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Clover Chapel United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Maggie Pasley, 999 Pasley Place.
The body may be viewed from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Generation Funeral Home.
