George Bradley
ROCK HILL - Mr. George "Carroll" Bradley, 69, of 712 Dunlap St. died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. William P. Shytle officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Bradley was a son of the late Samuel T. Bradley and Ada Funderburk Bradley. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Woodvale Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy S. Bradley, and two sisters, Gladys Nichols and Azalee Tucker, both of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends after the service.
Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel is in charge.

Naomi Bradley
ST. ALBANS, N.Y. - Funeral services for Mrs. Naomi Ayers Bradley were held March 20, 2001, at Grace United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bradley was a daughter of the late Rev. James Ayers and Edna Anderson Ayers. She was the widow of Joseph Bradley Sr. A graduate of Emmett Scott High School in Rock Hill, Mrs. Bradley was a member of Lula Violet Temple No. 1118 Queens of Elk, a member of Sicily Winter Council and a past Daughter Ruler of the Council.
Surviving are her son, Joseph Bradley Jr. of New York; her daughter, Gladys Bradley of New York; her sister, Dorothy McClure of Charlotte; her brother, John D. Ayers of Rock Hill; and three grandchildren.
Rahenson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Dawayne Brice
NEWARK, N.J. - Mr. Dawayne Shanley Brice, 32, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at North Vetch Israel Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cotton Funeral Home in East Orange, N.J. Burial will be in New Jersey.
A native of New Jersey, Mr. Brice was a son of Beatrice Brice, formerly of Chester. He attended Emanual Baptist Church and graduated from Weekqahic High School.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Sylvia Brice; three children, Essence Brice, Destine Brice and Nasir Dawayne Brice, all of Newark; his brother, Sylvan Pitt of Newark; his sister, Sarah Denise Brice Muhammad of East Orange; and his maternal grandparents, David Brice and Agnes Brice of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Cotton Funeral Home.
Kings Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge of local arrangements.

Ricky Tanner
CHESTER - Mr. Ricky John Tanner, 33, of 2764 Ashford Road died Saturday, April 21, 2001.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Phil Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Chester, Mr. Tanner was a son of the late Calvin John and Lena McMahan Tanner. A graduate of Chester High School, he was employed by D.C. Enterprises and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are five sisters, Debra Wishert and Chris Flynn, both of Chester, Lisa D. Tanner of Columbia, Lynda Isenberg of Great Falls and Sylvia Tanner of Georgia; and his brother, Buddy Wishert of Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the home of Debra Wishert, 2764 Ashford Road.

David Glenn Jr.
CLOVER - Mr. David McAllister Glenn Jr., of 164 Ocean Hollow Lane, St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Clover, died Saturday, April 21, 2001.
Arrangements will be announced by M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.

Mildred Pope
CATAWBA - Mrs. Mildred Thompson Pope, 73, of 4237 Catawba River Road died Saturday, April 21, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Great Falls Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Henry Adams officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
A native of Pageland, Mrs. Pope was a daughter of the late Thomas Thompson and Blanche Melton Thompson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was the widow of Van L. Pope.
Surviving are her son, Raymond T. Pope of Lancaster; two daughters, Ida "Cricket" Funderburk of Great Falls and Mary "Sister" Terry of Catawba; her sister, Dora Wooten of Ramona, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home in Great Falls.

Roy Gwinn Jr.
YORK - Mr. Roy "Junebug" Gwinn Jr., 72, of 112 Ashe St. died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Mercy South Hospital in Pineville, N.C.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Uniondale Cemetery.
A native of Hickory Grove, Mr. Gwinn was a son of Mary Gwinn and the late Roy Gwinn Sr. He was a maintenance man for the York school district, where he worked for 20 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Vinnie Gwinn of the home; four sons, Jerry Gwinn and Gregory "Pookie" Gwinn, both of Hickory Grove, Roy "Peewee" Gwinn III of York and Frank Carter of Chester; his daughter, Terri Shelter of Hickory Grove; two brothers, Donald Gwinn and Ronald Gwinn, both of Hickory Grove; his sister, Mary Lou Cunningham of Hickory Grove; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body may be viewed from 6 to 7 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

Brenda Reece
FORT MILL - Mrs. Brenda Helms Reece, 55, of 1136 Hensley Road died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Mercy Hospital South in Pineville, N.C.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Jimmy Parrish and Edgar McCall officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Reece was a daughter of Lacy Hensley Helms and the late Fred Helms. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Grady Reece of Fort Mill; her son, Russ Reece of Indian Land; her daughter, Stephanie Pittman of Fort Mill; her brother, Charles Helms of Fort Mill; three sisters, Susan Plyler, Shirley Coln and Kaye Hilton, all of Fort Mill; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home and at other times at the home.

Maxine Schoonmaker
KERSHAW - Mrs. Maxine Johnson Schoonmaker, 61, of 1039 W.C. Gandy Road died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be private.
A native of Flushing, Mich., Mrs. Schoonmaker was a daughter of the late Andrew Johnson and Edith Young Johnson. A homemaker, she was a member of Son Light Community Church of the Nazarene. She lived in the Abbney community of Kershaw for seven years.
Surviving is her husband, Maynard Joseph Schoonmaker.
Memorials may be made to Son Light Community Church of the Nazarene, 571 Monroe Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, is in charge.

Lizzie White
FORT MILL - Mrs. Lizzie White, of 239 Cinda St. died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. John T. McCoy officiating and evangelist Sandra McCoy assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. White was a daughter of Sadie Page Cherry and the late Leroy Cherry. She attended the public schools of York County and was a graduate of York Technical College. She was a Sunday school teacher and a deaconess at Nazareth Baptist Church. She was the owner of Just For You Hair Salon in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her husband, Jeffrey A. White Sr.; two sons, Jeffrey A. White Jr. and Danelle J. Barnette of the home; three brothers, Alexander Cherry and Charles Cherry, both of Rock Hill, and Robert Cherry of Charlotte; three sisters, Betty Tucker and Blanche Cherry, both of Rock Hill, and Lisa Brice of Chester.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. tonight at Robinson Funeral Home, at other times at 1652 Memorial Drive, Rock Hill, and at the home. The body will lie in state at noon Tuesday.

Marie Pendergrass
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Marie Pendergrass, formerly of Chester, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Millard Fillmore (Gates) Hospital, Buffalo.
Arrangements will be announced later by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

Jasmine Romero
LANCASTER - Jasmine Ballesteros Romero, infant daughter of Miguel Ballesteros Ceivartes and Juana Romero, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Lancaster Chapel.

Mattie Wiggins
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Mrs. Mattie Sanders Wiggins of 521 Randolph Road Apt. 2-4, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at home.
The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Lena Sanders, 876 Yarborough Road, Chester.
Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

Elsie Farrow
CHESTER - Mrs. Elsie Carpenter Farrow, 83, of 1645 Albert Road died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Chester County Nursing Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene, with Dr. Harold Liner and the Rev. Dennis Reid officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Farrow was a daughter of the late Leonard Carpenter and Isabelle Smith Carpenter. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She attended schools of Gaston County. She was the widow of James Farrow Sr.
Surviving are four sons, George Farrow of Augusta, Ga., Bill Farrow of Spring Lake, N.C., and Kenneth Farrow and Mike Farrow, both of Chester; two daughters, Polly Ferrell of Chester and Ruby Farrow of Whitmire; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Yetta Felber
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Yetta Peschel Felber, 80, of 1414 Farmstead Road died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A native of France, Mrs. Felber was a former assistant manager of export sales at Homelite Inc., where she spoke seven languages. She also worked for Rinehart Realty.
Surviving are her husband, George S. Felber of Rock Hill; and her sister, Yolande Fraysse of Paris, France.
Arrangements will be announced by Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill.

David Glenn Jr.
ST. AGUSTINE, Fla. - Mr. David McAllister Glenn Jr., 79, formerly of Clover, died Saturday, April 21, 2001.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Gess officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Clover, Mr. Glenn was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David McAllister Glenn Sr. His family had farmed on the same land for five generations. He graduated from Clover High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 2nd Division. He served in Europe during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He attended Clemson University and received a degree in textile engineering from Belmont Textile School in Belmont, N.C. He worked for Hoechst Celanese in Rock Hill, with 20 years of service. He served as deacon at Bethel Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Men's Bible Study. He attended Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Augustine.
Surviving are two sisters, Nancy Wallace of Bethel community in Clover and Jean Clemmer of Gastonia, N.C.; and three brothers, James A. Glenn and Thomas E. Glenn, both of the Bethel community, and Joe C. Glenn of Gastonia. Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2445 Hwy. 557, Clover, SC 29710.
M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

Lenwood Collins
ROCK HILL - Mr. Lenwood Collins, 72, died Monday, April 23, 2001, at Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia.
Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.

David Jeanes Jr.
RICHBURG - Mr. David Guyton Jeanes Jr., 48, of 2266 Old Richburg Road died Monday, April 23, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Heath Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sam Warrick officiating. Burial will be at Lando Cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Jeanes was a son of Essie Yongue of Richburg and the late Rev. David Guyton Jeanes Sr. He was a former truck driver and was a member of Heath Memorial United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving in addition to his mother are three daughters, Christina D. Michau of Chester, Dixie J. Threatt of Richburg and Tracey J. Deal of Chester; his sister, Carolyn J. Keasler of Fort Mill; his stepfather, Jack C. Yarborough of Richburg; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, and at other times at home.

Bertha Johnson
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Bertha Mae Blackmon Johnson, 84, of 1000 Oakdale Road died Sunday, April 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Long officiating. Burial will be at Adnah United Methodist Church cemetery.
A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Simon Bennett Blackmon and Sadie Bell Ghantt Blackmon. She retired from Celanese and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She was the widow of David Lyle Johnson.
Surviving are two sons, Buck Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mike Johnson of Aiken; four daughters, Jane J. Campbell of Rodman, Juanita J. Harrison of Macon, Ga., and Louise Johnson and Ann J. Biggerstaff, both of Rock Hill; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Rock Hill Chapel, and at other times at home.
