GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Louise Faulkenberry Horton, 84, of 107 Woodlawn Ave. died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Great Falls, with the Revs. Larry Roberts and Howard Wimmer officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden.
A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Horton was a daughter of the late William W. Faulkenberry and Alice F. Faulkenberry. She was retired from J.P. Stevens. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving is her son, Jackie M. Horton of Lancaster.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Lillian Gulledge
GREENVILLE- Lillian Emily Polk Gulledge, 90, of National Healthcare, formerly of the Tradesville community of Lancaster County, died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Lancaster. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Ms. Gulledge was a daughter of the late James Polk and Lula McManus Polk. She was a homemaker and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was the widow of George Gulledge.
Surviving are two daughters, Nan Price and Benny Martin, both of Taylors; her granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 2245 Old Camden Monroe Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.

Imogene Hardee
MANNING - Mrs. Imogene Stuckey Hardee, 74, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Manning Hospital.
The funeral was held Thursday at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Adams officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
A native of Williamsburg County, Mrs. Hardee was a daughter of the late Cleon Weston Stuckey and Annie Blakely Stuckey. She was a 1947 graduate of Winthrop College and was a retired teacher, having taught in Charleston at Moultrie High School, St. Andrews High School, and Orange Grove Elementary School; in Columbia at the University of South Carolina and Wardlaw High School; in Manning at Manning Middle School; in Florence County Schools; and at Indiantown School. She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and a member of the Jimmy Snyder Sailing Club.
Surviving are her husband, Julian "Mitch" Hardee; her son, Mark Weston Hardee of Columbia; her daughter, Genie Hardee of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Grace McCleave of Rock Hill and Mary Sheley of Manning; her brother, Tom Stuckey of Nesmith; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, Manning.
Stephens Funeral Home, Manning, is in charge.

Sandra Lewis
CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Sandra Marie Boyd Hemphill Lewis, 46, of 1518 N. Allen St., formerly of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Zechariah Alexander Sr. Memorial Chapel, Charlotte. Burial will be at Big Calvary Baptist Church in Lando.
The family will receive friends 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at Clemons Funeral Home, Rock Hill.

Ruth Jackson
ROCK HILL - Ms. Ruth Cogburn Jackson, 84, of Spring Arbor Assisted Living, 1800 India Hook Road, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Grandview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Don Royster officiating.
A native of Greenville, Ms. Jackson was a daughter of the late Richard F. Cogburn and Cornelia Sanders Cogburn. She retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co., with 35 years of service.
Surviving are her daughter, Joyce McGuirt of Rock Hill; her brother, Richard Cogburn of Rock Hill; two sisters, Evelyn C. Plexico of Rock Hill and Carolyn C. Royster of North; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the home of her daughter, Joyce McGuirt, 1977 Rosehaven Lane.

Mae Williams
FORT MILL - Mrs. Mae J. Williams, 63, of 202 Morgan St. died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Glenrock Baptist Church, with the Revs. Gene Flack and Bob Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.
A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Marcus M. Belt and Lillie Mae Broom Belt. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Springs Industries, with 34 years of service. She was the widow of John Williams.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Hensley Edwards of the home; her son, James H. "Bud" Hensley of Mill Spring, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home.

Edna McAteer
LANCASTER - Mrs. Edna Pardue McAteer, 88, of 1508 Monroe Hwy., died Friday, April 27, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Frank Lybrand and Douglas Rumley officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. McAteer was a daugher of the late James Pardue and Addie Jane McCorkle Pardue. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
Mrs. McAteer is survived by her husband, Luther Caldwell McAteer; her son, Luther McAteer of Lancaster; four daughters, Alma Neal, Janie Thomas and Barbara Catoe, all of Lancaster, and Della McManus of Monroe, N.C.; her sister, Laura Knight of Newberry; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

Michael Smarr
HICKORY GROVE - Mr. Michael Dale Smarr, 18, of 5174 Hwy. 97 died Thursday, April 26, 2001.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating and the Rev. Scott Hill assisting. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Smarr was a son of Robert Smarr and Kathy Howe Smarr, both of Hickory Grove.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepmother, Lori Smarr of Hickory Grove; his sister, Ashley Smarr of Hickory Grove; his maternal grandparents, Thomas Howe and Margaret Clinton Howe, both of Hickory Grove; his paternal grandparents, Glenn Smarr and Margie Smith Smarr, both of Hickory Grove; his half brother, Greg Childers of Hickory Grove; his stepbrother, Adam Wray of Hickory Grove; his half sister, Tracy Childers of Sharon; and his stepsister, Meredith Wray of Hickory Grove.

Andrew Whitener
CLOVER - Mr. Andrew Marcus Whitener, 84, 214 Richland St. died Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Clover ARP Church, with the Rev. Rob Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
A native of York County, Mr. Whitener was a son of the late Marcus William Whitener and Hattie Gantt Whitener. He was a member of Clover ARP Church.
Surviving are five sons, Bobby Whitener of Madison, Tenn., Allen Whitener, Marcus Whitener and David Whitener, all of Clover, and Howard Winders of York; four daughters, Judy McFalls of Gastonia, N.C., Cathy Frye and Patricia Curry, both of Clover, and Barbara Brewer of Maryville, Tenn.; his brother, Ray Whitener of Clover; three sisters, Mary Sisk of Newport, Tenn., Blanche Cobb of Clover and Jean Metlin of Gastonia; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Emily Carver
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Emily Louise Brooks Carver, 79, of 2221 Ferris St. died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of The Nazarene, with the Rev. Ron Fite officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.
A native of Pow-can, Va., Mrs. Carver was a daughter of the late Andrew and Annie Hodges Brooks. She was a homemaker and member of First Church of The Nazarene, where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She was the widow of Joseph O. "Jack" Carver.
Surviving are her son, Jack Carver Sr. of Rock Hill; her daughter, Jeanie C. Thomas of Rock Hill; her brother, Wilford Brooks of Stephen's Church, Va.; her sister, Carrie B. McTyre of Howerton, Va.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

GASTONIA, N.C. - Mr. Claude "Bo" Wilbert Goins, 60, of 309 Poplar St. died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating. Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church cemetery.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mr. Goins was a son of the late Claude M. Goins and Essie Lane Goins.
Surviving are his son, Scott Goins of Darlington; two daughters, Dee Carpenter of Rock Hill and Lynn Smith of Clover; four brothers, John Goins, David Goins and Clifford Goins, all of Gastonia, and James Goins of Clover; four sisters, Margaret Pearson of Kings Mountain, Mildred Mauney of Gastonia, Jeanne Hargett of New Bern, N.C., and Dale Goins of Charlotte; and eight grandchildren.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Lt. Joe McCullough of the Rock Hill Police Department, 47, of 732 Finley Street died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at the University of North Carolina Hospital.

John Melton
ROCK HILL - Mr. John Junior Melton, 75, of 4323 York Highway died Friday, April 27, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at Eastview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Turner officiating and the Rev. Bill Shytle assisting. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Cleveland County, N.C., Mr. Melton was a son of the late John R. Melton and Eva Green Melton. He was retired from the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co., with 35 years of service, and was a charter member of Eastview Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Foster Melton; two sons, Roger Melton and David Melton, both of Rock Hill; three daughters, Terri Ensley of Chester and Betty Russow and Barbara Russow, both of Gravette, Ark.; his brother, T.R. Blanton of Grover, N.C.; three sisters, Dorothy Sarratt of Gaffney, Annie Robinson of Bostic, N.C., and Julie Hammond of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Lawrence Snipes
CHESTER - Mr. Lawrence Snipes, 84, of 1069 Craigbrow Circle died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chester Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.
A native of York County, Mr. Snipes was a son of the late Henry and Sadie Threatt Snipes. He attended Lancaster County schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII and was retired from Springs Industries. He was the widower of Sarah Idell Michau Snipes.
Surviving are his son, Ronnie Snipes of Chester; his brother, Grady Snipes of Lancaster; his sister, Lillian Seifarth of Lancaster; and his grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

William Bankhead
BLACKSTOCK - Mr. William J. "Bill" Bankhead, 84, of 5504 Heritage Road died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hebron Presbyterian Church, with Dr. David Riddle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Fairfield County, Mr. Bankhead was a son of the late William McLin Bankhead and Esther McKeown Bankhead. He retired from Champion Paper Co. and was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and deacon. He graduated from Great Falls High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Norred Bankhead; his daughter, Donie Harper of Asheboro, N.C.; his brother, Karl Bankhead of Blackstock; his sister, Elizabeth Cornwell of Chester; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.
