CATAWBA - Mr. Frank Thomas Coakley Sr., 56, of Catawba died Friday, May 11, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Prince Georges County, Md., Mr. Coakley worked for Willow Glen Apartments in Rock Hill.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon H. Coakley; his son, Frank "J.R." Coakley Jr. of Upperville, Va.; and his daughter, Lynn Marie Burnette of Maryland.

Anne Sharpe
CLOVER - Mrs. Anne McGaha Hollingsworth Sharpe, 68, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A native of Honea Path, Mrs. Sharpe was a daughter of the late Walter McGaha and Gertrude Standridge McGaha.
Surviving are three sons, Gary Hollingsworth of Lancaster, Randy Hollingsworth of Clinton and Larry Hollingsworth of Bessemer City, N.C.; three daughters, Pamela H. Landires of Clover, Kathi Hollingsworth Newton of Gilbert and Terry Roof of Charlotte; her brother, Robert McGaha, Hickory, N.C.; her sister, Carolyn Kincaid of Gastonia, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge.

James Hull
SMYRNA - Mr. James Jackson Hull, 72, of 3220 Old Seine Road died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at home.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger Ham officiating.
Mr. Hull was the son of the late Jarvis Roscoe and Victoria Byars Hull. He was a retired carpenter and member of Broad River Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ann Ramsey Hull; his son, J. Kenneth Hull of York; his daughter, Linda H. Bradford of Liberty; two stepsons, Charles David Hailey of Smyrna and John Dan Hinson of York; two stepdaughters, Vicky Renee Bailey of Sharon and Patricia Ann Slaughter of York; and 14 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of his son, J. Kenneth Hull, 2909 Cedar Lane, York.

Dolly Cox
CHESTER - Mrs. Dolly Belk Cox, 73, of 1865 Pressley Road died Friday, May 11, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. David Sealy officiating.
A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Cox was a daughter of the late Blair Belk and Josie Sherrill Belk. She was self-employed as a wallpaper hanger and was of the Baptist faith. She was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte.
Surviving are her husband, Joe D. Cox; two sons, Horace Eugene "Gene" Cox of Chester and Rick Cox Lane of Sunrise, Fla.; her daughter, Joey Conner of Athens, Ga.; her brother, Howard Belk of Torrence, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

William Montgomery
LANCASTER - Mr. William D. "Bill" Montgomery of 3033 Kershaw Camden Highway died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Iva Vincent
KERSHAW - Mrs. Iva Mae Hinson Vincent, 73, of 272 Johnny Williams Road died Friday, May 11, 2001, at the Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Abney Baptist Church, with the Revs. Todd Morris and Mendel Baker officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Vincent was a daughter of the late Nebraska Hinson and Lilly Mae Brazenton Hinson.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Vincent; two sons, Don Vincent of Charlotte and Jerry Vincent of Kershaw; her daughter, Judy V. Holley of Kershaw; two brothers, Ferman Hinson of Lancaster and Odell Hinson of Kershaw; her sister, Ruth Adams of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Jerry Vincent, 420 Fletcher Dr.

Thomas Ellis Sr.
LANCASTER - Mr. Thomas Clifton Ellis Sr., 77, of 1433 E. Doc Garris Road died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Springs Mem-orial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Rich Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brooks Walter and Kenneth Lance officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Ellis was a son of the late Boyce Ellis and Tina Small Ellis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Evans Oil Company. He was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Knight Ellis; his son, Thomas C. "Tommy" Ellis Jr. of Lancaster; his daughter, Brenda E. Fisher of Rock Hill; his brother, Olin Ellis of Lancaster; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

William Montgomery
LANCASTER - Mr. William "Bill" David Montgomery, 78, of 3033 Kershaw Camden Highway, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh ARP Church, with the Rev. David Lauten officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Montgomery was a son of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Simpson Montgomery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in construction for 52 years. He was a Mason with Jackson Lodge No. 53, a member of the American Legion Post #31, Woodmen of the World and Shiloh ARP Church, where he served as deacon, elder, trustee and superintendent of Sunday schools.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Caskey Montgomery, of the home; two daughters, Carolyn M. Kennett of Greer and Marolyn M. Floyd of Aiken; two brothers, Henry S. Montgomery and James H. Montgomery, both of Lancaster; his sister, Martha L. Rushing of Lancaster; two grandchildren; and his great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartley Funeral Home.

Grace Shaw
FORT MILL - Mrs. Rebecca Grace Shaw, 78, of 887 Fort Mill Highway died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Phil Lavender officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Fort Mill, Mrs. Shaw was a daughter of the late Ervin Butler Broome and Bonnie Chap-man Broome. She was retired from Winthrop University, where she was a secretary. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir.
Surviving are her husband, Bennie Barron Shaw Sr.; her son, Bennie Barron Shaw Jr. of Fort Mill; her daughter, Susan Shaw Perry of Boone, N.C.; her brother, W.G. Broome of Indian Trail, N.C.; two sisters, Esther Withers of Fort Mill and Mary Finklea of Pelion; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 tonight at Wolfe Funeral Home and at other times at home.

Floyd Kerr Jr.
LANCASTER - Mr. Floyd E. "Buddy" Kerr Jr., 85, of 938 Forest Drive died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Morningside Assisted Living.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Sam Thomas and Hutch Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of McBee, Mr. Kerr was a son of the late Floyd E. Kerr Sr. and Viola Dunning Kerr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Springs Industries. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 31, the Hejaz Shriner Association, Lancaster Bass Masters and the First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the men's club and a former deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Teny" Steele Kerr, of the home; his son, Richard Dunning Kerr of Albany, Ga.; his daughter, Linda Kerr Helms of Lancaster; two brothers, Gayle Kerr of Bishopville and Hamilton Kerr of Columbia; three sisters, Enona K. Elixon of Gulfport, Miss., Jean K. Malone of High Point, N.C., and Alice K. Hamiter of Orangeburg; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Morningside Assisted Living, 1004 Hardin Street in Lancaster.

Matthew Blackwell
LANCASTER - Mathew Derek Blackwell, 15, of 1026 Snow Drive died Friday, May 11, 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Muse and Dale Roach officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Charlotte, Matthew was a son of Larry Wallace Blackwell and Jan Bedenbaugh Blackwell. He was a freshman at Lancaster High School, where he played junior varsity baseball. He was active with the Junior Civitans. He was an assistant coach with Mobley Drug T-Ball Team and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Heather Nicole Blackwell of the home; his paternal grandparents, Clyde Wallace Blackwell and Naomi Helms Sims; and his maternal grandparents, Earle Bedenbaugh and Jenny Ballentine Bedenbaugh.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the youth groups of the following churches: Grace Presbyterian Church, Immanuel Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church.

Alberta Gist
PHILADELPHIA - Mrs. Alberta McMullen Gist, formerly of the Landsford community in Catawba died Friday, May 11, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be noon Thursday at Hankins Funeral Home in Philadelphia. Burial will be at Rolling Green Cemetery in West Chester, Pa.
A native of Chester County, Mrs. Gist was a daughter of the late Charlie McMullen Sr. and Easter Cousar McMullen. She was a member of Mount Zion AME Zion Church No. 1. She attended public schools of Chester County and was a domestic worker.
Surviving are two sons, Dolan Gist and Robert Gist, both of Philadelphia; two daughters, Donna Gist and Jeane Gist Johnson, both of Philadelphia; two sisters, Leola M. Howze of Catawba and Sarah M. Means of Plainfield, N.J.; her brother, Thomas McMullen of Knoxville, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.

Ernest Mills
ROCK HILL - Mr. Ernest Thurman Mills, 63, died Sunday, May 13, 2001.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oakdale Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry DeVinney officiating.
A native of Augusta, Ga., Mr. Mills was a son of the late Edward L. Mills and Eva Mae Doolittle Mills. He was a retired Richland County employee and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother, Cecil Mills of Winnsboro.
Pope Funeral Home in Winnsboro is in charge.

John Shirley Sr.
LANCASTER - Mr. John Riley Shirley Sr., 77, of 1429 Cedar Pine Lake Road died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ronnie Roddney officiating.
A native of Columbia, Mr. Shirley was a son of the late Paul Shirley and Allison Shirley Whittington. He retired from D.W. Flow & Son in Charlotte. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was of the Baptist faith. He was the widower of Pearl Snipes Shirley.
Surviving four sons, Johnny R. Shirley Jr. of the home; Graham Shirley, David Shirley and Barry Shirley, all of Columbia; two stepsons, Mike Burnham of Rock Hill and Bobby Burnham of Lancaster; two stepdaughters, Mary Lou Melton and Rebecca C. Outen, both of Lancaster; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hartley Funeral Home.
