LANCASTER - Mrs. Annie Mills Taylor Amerson, 94, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Harold Owens officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Darlington County, Mrs. Amerson was a daughter of the late James Marshall Mills and Mary Alford Mills. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Marion A. "Gus" Taylor and W.H. Amerson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster.
The family will be at the home of Jimmy and Hazel Taylor, 1409 Clark Place, Lancaster.

Mary Campbell
DUNEDIN, Fla. - Ms. Mary R. Campbell, 80, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Dunedin Care Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Barron Funeral Home in Chester. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester, Ms. Campbell was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Wesley Campbell of Dunedin, Fla., and John Campbell of Belleair, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Martin and Doris Lindsey, both of Chester; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Barron
Funeral Home.

Michael Davis
FORT MILL - Mr. Michael Davis, 44, of 9938 Sandra Lane died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Bloomfield, Iowa, Mr. Davis was a son of Richard Dale Davis and Patsy Marie Chapman. He was a member of Manchester Creek Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Gerdes Scott; his daughter, Susanne Lujan of Rock Hill; his sister, Cara Watkins of Jamestown, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 500 E. Morehead St., Charlotte, NC 28202.

John Douglas
CLOVER - Mr. John Grady Douglas, 86, of 12391 W. S.C. 55 died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan Morrow officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
A native of York County, Mr. Douglas was a son of the late Charles Thomas Douglas and Margaret Elizabeth Baker Douglas. He was retired from American Thread Co. and was a lifelong member of Bethany ARP Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mae Whisenant Douglas; his daughter, Lou Ellen D. Stewart of Clover; his brother, Marshall Douglas of Clover; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home and other times at the home of Lou Ellen and Les Stewart, 12403 W. S.C. 55.

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Moore of 413 Fewell St. died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

Loretta Riley
CHESTER- Ms. Loretta Riley, 37, of 301 Center St. died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Chester County Hospital.
The family will be at the home of her mother, Gloria Jean Darby, 12 Henry Wood Drive.
Arrangements will be announced by Denton Funeral Home in Chester.

Nathan Riordan
McCONNELLS - Master Nathan William Riordan, 17 months, infant son of Shawn Riordan and Michele Bieber Riordan of 1915 Burkins Drive, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Pat Fleming officiating and the Rev. Steve Hogg assisting. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Shawn Riordan and Zachery Riordan of the home; his sister, Brittany Riordan of the home; his paternal grandparents, George Riordan and Terry Riordan, both of Buffalo; his maternal grandparents, William Bieber and Marilyn Bieber, both of McConnells, and Patricia Haga and Bill Haga, both of Buffalo, N.Y.
The family will receive friends at home.

Billy Mackey Sr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. Billy E. "Butch" Mackey Sr., 55, of 2199 Williford Road died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Mackey was a son of George P. Mackey and Irene Mackey. He was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Mackey's Body Shop for 32 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his son, B.J. Mackey of Rock Hill; his brother, Randy Mackey of Sylva, N.C.; and two sisters, Doris Mackey of Sylva and Carolyn Mackey Sheets of Clover.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and other times at the home of Carolyn S. Mackey, 1549 Hathaway Drive, Rock Hill.

Lucile King
CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Lucile Holland King, 100, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Charlotte Health Care Center.
The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at McEwen Funeral Service, 727 E. Morehead St. Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
A native of Iredell County, N.C., Mrs. King was a daughter of the late Elisha P. Holland and Rebecca Holland. She graduated from Kings Business College in Charlotte and worked in the law offices of Grier and Son in Statesville, N.C. She was a homemaker and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, formerly Chantilly Baptist Church. She was the widow of J. Archer C. King.
Surviving are two sons, Jack King of Clover and Ted King of Englewood, Fla.; three daughters, Martha Kiker of Charlotte, Daisy Ann Murphy of Wilmington, N.C., and Jeanne Levinson of Sayville, N.Y.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at McEwen Charlotte Chapel.

Elizabeth Stowe
CLOVER - Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson Stowe, 87, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Clover ARP Church, with the Revs. Rob Patrick and Timothy Martin officiating. Burial will be at Union Road Presbyterian Church cemetery in Gastonia, N.C.
A native of Gaston County, N.C., Mrs. Stowe was a daughter of the late Robert Hope and Carrie Craig Wilson. She was a member of Clover ARP Church and was a former member of Union Road Presbyterian Church. She attended Gastonia schools and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was a retired member of the Alabama Educators Association and the National Teacher Association and was a volunteer for Lauback Literacy Council and the Clover Woman's Club.
Surviving are her husband, Miller D. Stowe; her son, Robert M. Stowe of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter, Brenda S. Argo of Baton Rouge, La.; her sister, Anne W. Maires of Gastonia, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

YORK - Ms. Thea Laverne Rollins,34, of 508 W. Liberty St. died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Wright Funeral Home in York. Burial will be at Uniondale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at home.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home.

Jeffrey Van Pelt
FORT MILL - Mr. Jeffrey Scott Van Pelt, 36, of 422 Brook Bluff Lane died Monday, May 21, 2001, in Kings Mountain, N.C.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. today at Glenrock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Costner officiating.
A native of Galesburg, Mich., Mr. Pelt was a son of Myron Pelt and Joanne Van Pelt. He was a truck driver for T.L.C. Trucking Co. of Asheboro, N.C. He was a member of First Congressional Church of Galesburg.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Lori Kelly of Plainwell, Mich., and Melissa Ward of Tallahassee, Fla.; and his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Schott of Decatur, Mich.
The family will receive friends at home.

Laura Ashley
CHESTER - Mrs. Laura Matthews Ashley, 78, of 986 Peden Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Chip Sneed officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Ashley was a daughter of the late William B. Matthews and Ada McKeown Matthews. She retired from Grace Bleachery and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Chester High School.
Surviving are three sisters, Janie Chapman of Rock Hill and Annie Grant and Eliza Watts, both of Chester; her brother, Patrick Matthews of Union; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home.

Edward Bell Sr.
KERSHAW - Mr. Edward Perry Bell Sr., 59, of 4811 Mud Dauber Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, with the Revs. Needham Williamson and Donald Brown officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Mr. Bell was a son of the late William Hall Bell and Mary Lee Perry Bell. He was a retired brick mason and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Mills; three sons, Edward Bell Jr. and William A. Bell, both of Lansing, Mich., and Anthony A. Bell of Texas; his brother, John "Buddy" Bell of Tupelo, Miss.; two sisters, Dorothy B. Burns of Bartlett, Tenn., and Marie B. Jarrell of Cedartown, Ga.; five grandchildren; and his great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, and at other times at home.

Clara Blackmon
LANCASTER - Mrs. Clara Baker Blackmon, 89, of 828 Farmbrook Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Blackmon officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Blackmon was a daughter of the late George Washington Baker and Ida Mae Blakeney Baker. She was a homemaker and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Fred Ezell Blackmon.
Surviving are four sons, Chalmers George Blackmon of Kershaw and Bryan Fred Blackmon, Ned Baker Blackmon and Donald Lewis Blackmon, all of Lancaster; her daughter, Elsie Blackmon Russell of Union; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Golden
FORT MILL - Benjamin Franklin Golden, 81, of 104 Melrose Court died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.
The service will be private.
A native of Mountainair, N.M., Mr. Golden was a son of the late Henry D. Golden and Pearl Cheek Golden. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and served as chief radioman. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Golden; his daughter, Carol Sheldon of Fort Mill; his brother, Harley Savage of Rhinelander, Wis.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Janie Sprout
CHESTER - Mrs. Janie Johnson Sprout, 65, formerly of 104 Branch St., died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at the Palmetto Village Care Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Denton Funeral Home.
