FORT MILL - Mr. Michael Davis, 44, of 9938 Sandra Lane died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at home.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. today at the home.
Mr. Davis was a son of Richard Dale Davis and Patsy Marie Chapman of Charlotte. He graduated from Wadsworth High School and Ashland College in Ohio. He owned and operated M&L Janitorial Service in Charlotte. He formerly worked for General Clay Products in Wadsworth, Ohio. He was a member of Manchester Creek Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Rachel Hueso-Davis; his daughter, Amie Marie Davis of Lodi, Ohio; two brothers, Mark Davis and Richard Davis, both of Charlotte; two stepsons, Richard Rodriguez of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Robert Rodriguez of Manhattan, N.Y.; his stepdaughter, Evy Denartelaere of Charlotte; and his grandmother, Marie Chapman of Oklahoma.
Fort Mill Funeral Home is in charge.

Azzilee Griffin
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Azzilee Griffin, 86, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Beverly Health Care.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bass Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Westside Cemetery in Lancaster.
A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Griffin was a daughter of the late Lonnie Gamble and Eulah M. Gamble. She retired from J.P. Stevens and was the widow of James D. Griffin.
Surviving are her sons, Lonnie Griffin and Terry Griffin, both of Rock Hill; five daughters, Louise Hollinger, Betty Taylor and Shelia Millstead, all of Rock Hill, Mary Knight of Fort Mill and Nancy Mobley of Catawba; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Louise Hollinger, 9 Pitts St.

Butch Mackey Sr.
ROCK HILL - Mr. Billy E. "Butch" Mackey Sr., 55, of 2199 Williford Road died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. John Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.
A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Mackey was a son of George P. Mackey and Irene Mackey. He was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Mackey's Body Shop for 32 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his son, B.J. Mackey of Rock Hill; his brother, Randy Mackey of Sylva, N.C.; and two sisters, Doris Mackey of Sylva and Carolyn Mackey Sheets of Clover.

Eva Raymes
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Eva Mae Marlowe Raymes, 81, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.

Sarah McGuirt
LANCASTER - Miss Sarah Frances McGuirt, 84, of 2817 New Hope Road died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at National Health Care in North Augusta.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church in Heath Springs, with the Revs. Eugene L. Feagin and Milton McGuirt officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Heath Springs.
A native of Lancaster County, Miss McGuirt was a daughter of the late Junius Lee and Annie Stover McGuirt. She retired from Celanese in Rock Hill and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen McGuirt Beason of Dayton, Ohio, and Anne McGuirt Davidson of Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home.

Jerry McMiller
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Jerry Lee McMiller, 81, formerly of Chester County, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Mercy Hospital.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home Chapel in Charlotte. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church cemetery in Richburg.
A native of Kershaw County, Mr. McMiller was a son of the late Earl Miller and Addie Smith Miller. He was the widower of Kathleen Jordan McMiller.
Surviving are five sons, James McMiller, Calvin McMiller, John McMiller, Bennie McMiller and Terry McMiller, all of Charlotte; seven daughters, Lizzie M. Goode, Willie C. Bailey, Addie R. Boyce, Evelyn Straite, Doris Clinkscales, Virginia Godfrey and Janice McMiller Harris, all of Charlotte; three brothers, Grady McMiller of Gastonia, N.C., George McMiller of Winnsboro and Nathaniel McMiller of Rock Hill; four sisters, Janie Talford of Charlotte and Mary Hayes, Lillie Crome and Elizabeth Cureton, all of Rock Hill; 42 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at King's Funeral Home Chapel in Char-lotte.
King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester, is in charge of local arrangements.

Steven Roberts
CHESTER - Mr. Steven B. Roberts, 50, of 641 DuPree St. died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Westside Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mark Chapman and Curtis Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.
A native of Chester, Mr. Roberts was a son of Helen Wishert Roberts of Chester. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and graduated from Chester High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of Chester County ABATE.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Kendrick Roberts; three daughters, Leslie E. Roberts, Elizabeth Ann Crouch and Rebecca Lynn Crouch, all of Chester; his brother, Dana Roberts of Chester; two sisters, Marion Ilda Campbell of Alpharetta, Ga., and Paula Morris of Lexington; and his granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home and at other times at 562 McDowell Drive.

Margie Scott
EDGEMOOR - Mrs. Margie B. Scott, 74, of 3526 Mount Holly Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.
The funeral will be 5 p.m. Saturday at Heath Memorial United Methodist Church.
A native of Edgemoor, Mrs. Scott was a daughter of the late Thomas Jennings Bailey and Tessie McCorkle Bailey. She retired from Springs Industries and was a member of the Richburg Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Scott; her daughter, Jennifer Edwards of Edgemoor; her brother, Larry Bailey of King, N.C.; her sister, Margaret Ferguson of Dover, Fla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thea Thomas
YORK - Ms. Thea Laverne Rollins, 34, of 508 W. Liberty St. died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Sallie Adams officiating and Dr. C. J. Jenkins assisting. Burial will be at Uniondale Cemetery.
A native of Washington, D.C., Ms. Rollins was a daughter of Joseph Rollins of Washington, D.C., and Alfrieda Noble Rollins of York. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Laverne Rollins, who raised her. She formerly worked at Winn-Dixie in York.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Earl Thomas of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Christopher Ratchford of the home; Tracy Rollins of Seabrook, Md., and Kenneth Crum of York; her grandmother, Mattie Malloy of York; and her great-grandmother, Rebecca Strauder of Washington, D.C.
The family will receive friends at the home.
The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 tonight at Wright Funeral Home.

Laura Ashley
CHESTER - Mrs. Laura Matthews Ashley, 78, of 986 Peden Road died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Chip Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery.
A native of York County, Mrs. Ashley was a daughter of the late William B. Matthews and Ada McKeown Matthews. She retired from Grace Bleachery and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Chester High School.
Surviving are three sisters, Janie Chapman of Rock Hill and Annie Grant and Eliza Watts, both of Chester; her brother, Patrick Matthews of Union; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.

Woodrow Carnes
LANCASTER - Mr. Woodrow Wilson Carnes, 83, of 5151 Woodrow Carnes Road died Friday, May 25, 2001, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald Coppedge and Dr. Harold Owens officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Lancaster Memorial Park.
A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Carnes was a son of the late Simon M. Carnes and Odelia Sims Carnes. He was a retired truck driver for Gulf Oil Co. and was a Mason at Wannamaker Masonic Lodge No. 329. He was a York and Scottish Rite and was a Shriner with Hejaz Temple, where he served as a district deputy of Shriners. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Euree McManus Carnes; his son, the Rev. Mickey W. Carnes of Waxhaw, N.C.; two daughters, DeeDee Newton and Trudy D. Carnes, both of Lancaster; his brother, Joe Carnes of Lancaster; his sister, Lorene Carnes McManus of Lancaster; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Margaret H. Costner, 86, of 2070 Ridgecrest Road died Friday, May 25, 2001, at home.

Johnnie Jackson
MORGANTON, N.C. - Mr. Johnnie W. Jackson, 73, of Windy Hill Drive died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Grace Hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home, with the Revs. Thomas Berry and Alan Barlow and Mr. David Lingafelt officiating. Burial will be in the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A native of York County, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late Ernest Sloan Jackson and Macie Jones Jackson. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. He retired from Burke Mills in Valdese, N.C., with more than 20 years service.
Surviving are his wife, Viola Kirby Jackson; his son, Alan Jackson of Cocoa, Fla., his daughter, Judy Phillips of Morganton; his brother, Ed Jackson of York; two sisters, Lib Cloniger and Ethel Pendleton, both of Clover; two stepsons, J.D. Whisnant of Asheville, N.C., and Tommy Whisnant of Morganton; his stepdaughter, Janet Lingafelt of Newton, N.C.; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; his great-grandchild; and his stepgreat-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home.

Jefferson Ellis
KINGSTREE - Mr. Jefferson Phillips "Jeff" Ellis, 83, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in Sumter.
A graveside service will be
2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Mr. Ellis was a son of the late Weldon Thomas Ellis and Ruth Phillips Ellis. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Celanese Corp. and Bowater Paper Co. He was retired from Baxter Labs in Kingstree. He served as a junior lieutenant in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Monterey in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Cauthen Ellis, and his sister, Ruth Ellis Allen of Silver Springs, Md.
Memorials may be made to Kingstree United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Annie Bell McClure Dover Jamison, 90, of 3008 Parkway Ave., formerly of York, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at home.

Richard McDaniel
CLEMMONS, N.C. - Pastor Richard "Wolf" McDaniel, 50, of 1885 Central Road, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at New Life Wesleyen Church in Winston-Salem. Burial will be private.
A native of Rock Hill, Pastor McDaniel was a son of the late Burton McDaniel and Mable McDaniel Meyers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn "Dove" McDaniel; his son, Eric; his daughter, Krista; his adopted son, Kenny; three brothers, Mike McDaniel of Rock Hill, Tony McDaniel of Easley and Buddy McDaniel of Columbia; his sister, Linda Auten of Lumberton, N.C.; his stepmother, Mildred McDaniel of Rock Hill; and his stepfather, Bob Myers of Florida.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mike and Kathy McDaniel, 2212 Holland Road, Rock Hill.
