Robert Lee Sr.

CHESTER - Mr. Robert Wylie Lee Sr., 82, of 1823 Quinn Road, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Ebenezer Senior Services in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Dale Roddey and Chris Snelgrove officiating. Burial will be at Armenia United Methodist Church cemetery.

A native of Chester, Mr. Lee was a son of the late Walter Edward Lee and Brelia Lipford Lee. He attended Chester County schools and was a dairy farmer in the Lowry's America section of Chester County. Mr. Lee was a member of Chester First Baptist Church. He served in the Army Air Corp. of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Marion Weir Lee; his son, Robert W. "Bobby" Lee of Chester; his daughter, Jane Ellen Cameron of Chester; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at 1823 Quinn Road, Chester.

Buster Lowe

COWPENS - Mr. Buster Lowe, 69, of 167 Crenshaw Road died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Preston Edmonds officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Spartanburg County, Mr. Lowe was a son of the late Cullen and Ruby Cash Lowe. He was retired from Epting Ballenger Co. and was a member of Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church. He was the widower of Margaret Crocker Lowe.

Surviving are four sons, Roger Bradley of Converse, Marion N. Lowe Jr. of Columbia, Jack W. Lowe of Moncks Corner and Brantley E. Lowe of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Kay L. Edmunds of Chesapeake, Va. and Jackie L. Pemberton of Chester; five brothers, Ronnie Lowe of Boiling Springs, Donnie Lowe of Mayo and Ted Lowe, Kenneth Lowe and Howard Lowe, all of Cowpens; five sisters, Betty Gentry of Gaffney and Veronica Gentry, Linda Cole, Brenda Frady and Marjorie Parris, all of Cowpens; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee.

ROCK HILL - Bishop Plato Massey died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

Arrangements will be announced by Robinson Funeral Home.

Lucille Smith

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Lucille Perry Smith, 87, of 438 Fewell St. died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare Center.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gethsemane Church, with the Revs. B.R. Wilson and Donnie Dye officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Fairfield County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late William Perry and Eugenia Perry. She was a member of Shiloh Institutional Church in Charlotte, where she sang on the hymn choir.

Surviving are her niece, Mildred Jones of Rock Hill; and her great-niece, Mary T. Massey of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Parker Funeral Home is in charge.

Edna Taylor

BUNNLEVEL, N.C. - Mrs. Edna "Inez" Workman Taylor, 88, of 135 Solis Lane, formerly of York, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Good Hope Hospital in Greenville, N.C.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church in York, with the Rev. Phil Haynes officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in York.

A native of York County, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Edward Steele Workman and Luella Kidd Workman. She was retired from Cannon Mills and was a member of Bright Light Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Fred M. Taylor.

Surviving are her son, Freddie Taylor of York; two daughters, Frankie T. Solis of Bunnlevel and Betty T. Hancock of Fort Mill; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Rock Hill and other times at the home of her grandson, J.C. Crocker Jr., 1320 Inman Road, York.

Cambrein Deer

ROCK HILL - Cambrein Isaiah Deer, the infant son of Andrea L. Williams of Rock Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Piedmont Medical Center.

A graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Foundation A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. LeRoy McCrea officiating.

Surviving in addition to his mother are maternal grandparents Thorne and Lorraine Mickel of Rock Hill; maternal grandfather Andre Williams of Rock Hill; and his maternal grandmother Tora Williams White of Rock Hill.

Robinson Funeral Home is in charge.

Dorothy Hall

CHESTER - Mrs. Dorothy Ramsey Hall, 78, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Chester, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Jacksonville.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.

A native of Chester County, Mrs. Hall was a daughter of the late Samuel H. Ramsey and Alice Thomas Ramsey.

Surviving are two daughters, Billie Ann Turner of Jacksonville and Alice Crouch of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and her sister, Juanita Criscione of Chester; four grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

Donald Londrigan

FORT MILL - Mr. Donald J. Londrigan, 52, of 7167 Sheba Road, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at home.

Arrangements will be announced by Fort Mill Funeral Home.

Victor Parsons

LANCASTER - Mr. Victor Howell Parsons, 93, of 813 Woodland Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ben Smith, Gene Lockaby and Ralph Cowan officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park, with Masonic rites by the Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 53.

Mr. Parsons was a son of the late Lewis Andrew and Covan Haselden Parsons. He was retired from Daniel Construction Co., a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge, Keystone Chapter No. 19 R.A.M., Witherspoon Council No. 33 R.S.M. and Lancaster Commandery No. 19 K.T. He was past master of Winyah No. 40 in Georgetown, received a 60-year Masonic pin and was deacon emeritus of Calvary Baptist Church. He was the widower of Mavis McConnell Parsons.

Surviving are his daughter, Phyllis Love of Heath Springs; three sons, Gary S. Parsons of Lancaster, Victor H. Parsons Jr. of Fort Lawn, and Kenneth D. Parsons of Williamsburg, Va.; his brother, Albert Earl Parsons of Andrews; two sisters, Vivian McKenzie and Lonita Ward, both of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Mahaffey Funeral Home from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, and other times at the home of son Gary Parsons, 2226 Howell St.

Louis Paulding

CHESTER - Mr. Louis Tidwell Paulding of 1017 Holmes Road died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Chester County Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, with Pastor Eldren Morrison officiating and the Revs. Carl Glenn, Otha L. Smith, Charlie J. Stringfellow, Fred Murphy and Earl Stringfellow. Burial will be at the Zion Hopewell A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery in Ridgeway.

Mr. Paulding was a son of the late Rev. Falton Robert Paulding Sr. and the late Mary Alice Louise Tidwell Paulding. He attended Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church and was a postal worker in Charlotte.

Surviving are his wife Gladys Chambers Paulding; his son, Danius Gladden of Chester; three daughters Kenyetta Paulding of Chester; Shatara Paulding of the home; and Enrique Caldwell of Chester; his sister, Darlene P. Owens of Chester and his grandson.

The family will receive friends at Christopher King's Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 8 tonight and other times at the home.

The body may be viewed from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Conrad Plyler

LANCASTER - Mr. Conrad A. Plyler, 94, of Columbia and Lancaster, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002.

A graveside funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Revs. Scott Petry and B. Mike Alexander Jr. officiating.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Plyler was a son of the late Bundy Braxton and Flonnie Funderburk Plyler. He was a retired U.S. Navy Commander serving for 27 years, was a member of the Navy League, U.S. Navy Foundation and a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Institute. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Wofford College and did graduate studies at Duke University. He served as principal at Buford High School, Simpsonville High School and was assistant principal at Greenville High School. Mr. Plyler worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 27 years and was retired from the Springs Industries tax department. He also was a self-employed tax consultant and farmer. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and had attended Washington Street United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He was the widower of the late Louisa Banks Plyler.

Surviving are his son, retired U.S. Navy Capt. Conrad A. Plyler Jr. of Silverdale, Wash.; his daughter, Louisa Banks Tarullo of Chevy Chase, Md.; two brothers, Carl Dixon Plyler of Seneca and Jean Nelson Plyler of Lexington, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720, or to the Louisa Banks Plyler and Conrad A. Plyler Fund of the Foundation, Washington Street United Methodist Church, 1401 Washington St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Donald Reese

CATAWBA - Mr. Donald Mark Reese, 42, of 706 Cedar Valley Drive, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at home.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. today at the home.

A native of Fort Smith, Ark., Mr. Reese was a son of the late John Reese and Rosella Reese.

Surviving are his wife, Debra Louise Reese of the home; two sons, Donald Reese Jr. and Derrick Reese; two brothers, John and Louis Reese; and his sister, Deborah Reese. All of them reside in Fort Smith.

Harold Rowell

LANCASTER - Mr. Lloyd Harold Rowell, 89, of 922 Meadow Drive, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Rob O'Neal and Roy Barnes officiating. Entombment will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mr. Rowell was a son of the late Louis Lestial Rowell and Mayme Estelle Funderburk Rowell. He owned and operated Bailey & Rowell Shoe Store for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Housing Authority where he served 25 years. He was a director of Charleston Southern University where an endowment scholarship fund was established in his name. He was a past committee member for the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Merchants Association and Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, the board of First Citizens Bank and was awarded Jaycee of the Year. Mr. Rowell was a member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge, a life member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 53, a Shriner with the Hejaz Shrine Temple, member of First Baptist Church, and a deacon and deacon emeritus and trustee. He was the widower of the late Vivian Bailey Rowell.

Surviving are his brother, Joe Lee Rowell of Macon, Ga., and two sisters Lou Doris Jenkins of Lake Placid, Fla., and Yvonne Hough of Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home.

J.B. Smith

ROCK HILL - Mr. J.B. Smith, 67, of Hopewell Road, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at home.

Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel.

Alexandra Binkley
ROCK HILL - Alexandra Binkley, infant daughter of William C. "Bill" Binkley and Marielys Angulo Binkley of 1215 Tarleton Court, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Cornwell Cemetery in Blackstock, with the Rev. Oscar Burdette officiating.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her brother, William W. Binkley of the home; her paternal grandmother, Sandra Binkley of Rock Hill; her maternal grandparents, Carlos Angulo and Ana Angulo of Caracas, Venezuela; her paternal great-grandmother, Laura DeLancey of Chester; and her maternal great-grandmother, Luisa Betancourt of Caracas.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. today at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.

Robert Faile

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Mr. Robert L. Faile, 71, of 3361 Dougs Drive died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at home.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ray Robinson and Ray Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Faile was the son of the late McKinley Faile and Lois Snipes Faile. He was a missionary in the West Indies for Baptist International Missions and was a member of Piftonia Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen Pittman Faile; three sons, Robert Michael Faile and John Thomas Faile, both of Chattanooga, and Timothy Lyle Faile of Atlanta; two daughters, Robin McNabb and Sharon Gorrell, both of Chattanooga; three sisters, Aline Stratton, Ida Brown and Betty Jo Player, all of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster.
