LANCASTER - Mr. Lever Crawford "L.C." Vincent, 70, of 1582 Locustwood Ave. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Springs Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Inman officiating. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Vincent was a son of the late Charlie Crawford and Azalee Knight Vincent. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Jackson Lodge No. 53. He also was a member of Hejaz Shrine.

Surviving are his son, Angelo Sinopoli of Easley; three sisters, Frances McDonald, Pat Deese and Annie Lee Adams, all of Lancaster; and his grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home Lancaster Chapel and other times at the home.

Jessie Wade

CHESTER - Mrs. Jessie Sweatt Wade, 84, of 1 Medical Park, formerly of 936 Magnolia Drive in Rock Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Chester County Hospital.

The church service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakdale Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating and the Rev. Robert Alford assisting. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Pacolet Mill, Mrs. Wade was a daughter of the late Samuel O. Sweatt and Mary Green Sweatt. She was a charter member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her son, Charles D. Wade of Blackstock; two sisters, Ruth S. Waechter and Margaret S. Bivens, both of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Rock Hill and other times at her son's home, 1302 Cornwell Road.

Memorials may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church Music Ministry, 1249 Oakdale Road, SC 29730.

Caleb Bryant
FORT MILL - Mr. Caleb Richard Bryant, 13, of 2275 Holbrook Road died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Edgar McCall and Jim Herron officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Bryant was a son of Ralph Graves Bryant IV and Lisa Bradshaw Bryant. He was a seventh-grader at Fort Mill Elementary School and attended Sisk Memorial Baptist Church and Doby's Bridge Road Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Trey Bryant; his maternal grandparents, Floyd Bradshaw and Helen Bradshaw of Fort Mill; and his paternal grandparents, Buddy Bryant and Martha Bryant of Fort Mill and Harry Umfleet and Ann Umfleet of Greensboro, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Sisk Memorial Baptist Church Family Life Center and other times at home.

Farris Knopf

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Farris Knight Knopf, 84, of 5218 Knopf Road died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heath Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sandra Hatchell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Knopf was the daughter of the late Minnie and John Knight. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. She was a member of Heath Chapel United Methodist Church. She is the widow of Samuel D. Knopf.

Surviving are her foster son, Brian Jackson of Great Falls.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home.

Frances Mack

CHESTER - Mrs. Frances Isabel Coleman Mack, 65, of 107 Eli St. died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at home.

Arrangements will be announced by King's Funeral Home.

James Rose Sr.

BLACKSBURG - Mr. James Leslie Rose Sr., 64, of 364 Dickson Road died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Clover Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marvin Carson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

A native of York County, Mr. Rose was a son of the late Clarence Rose and Florence Anderson Rose. He was a member of Clover Freewill Baptist Church and was a self-employed roofer.

Surviving are his wife, Maxie Radford Rose; three sons, Clarence Rose of the home, and Dale Rose and Leslie Rose, both of York; three daughters, Tabatha R. Cameron and Tina Lambert, both of Blacksburg, and Tammy R. McClain of York; three brothers, Bill Rose of Clover, Donnie Rose of York and Henry Rose of Seneca; five sisters, Joann Rose, Peggy McCarter, Elizabeth Blanks, Carolyn Cole, all of Clover, and Ruth Sexton of Sharon; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Robert Shelton

ROCK HILL - Mr. Robert Jackson Shelton, 75, of 108 Hillcrest Ave. died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in Union.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Shelton was a son of the late Zelion Ruth Fish and Robert A. Shelton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was of the Church of God faith and was a carpenter. He was the widower of Geraldine Robinson Shelton

Surviving are his daughter, Jackie S. Bradley of Rock Hill; five sisters, Truedale S. Knight and Grace S. Connolly, both of Union, Lottie S. McKeown of Mauldin, Ruby S. Baker of Simpsonville and Roberta Shelton of Rock Hill; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.

Leeman Taylor

KERSHAW - Mr. Leeman Curtis Taylor, 83, of 405 N. Ashe St. died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel, with the Rev. Bryant D. Fersner Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Kershaw City Cemetery.

A native of Kershaw, Mr. Taylor was a son of the late James Napoleon and Docia Broome Taylor. He was a general contractor and owner of Taylor Construction Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a mason and Shriner.

Surviving are his son, Kenneth Tony Taylor of Lavonia, Ga.; three daughters, Myrtice T. Meetze of Vero Beach, Fla., Valerie T. Ballard of Lancaster and Myra Taylor of Kershaw; three brothers, Kermit Taylor of Florida, Olin Taylor of Greeleyville and Nolan Taylor of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Mildred T. Threatt of Camden; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel and other times at the home of Myra and Sibyl Taylor, 405 N. Ashe St., Kershaw.

Doris Wright

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Doris Catoe Neely Wright, 79, of 261 S. Herlong Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Rock Hill Healthcare.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Heath Springs, with the Revs. Lewis Vehaun and Roland Dry officiating.

A native of Lancaster, Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late Grace Hinson and Luther Catoe. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She worked in the spinning department of JP Stevens Argon plant and retired from the Siecor Industries in Charlotte. She was the widow of Barron Neely and Odell Wright.

Surviving are her daughter, Elaine Neely Tallent of Rock Hill; her brother, M.F. "Son" Catoe of Heath Springs; two sisters, Peggy C. Flynn and Betty C. Watts, both of Lancaster, and Catherine C. Horton of Kershaw; two grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel and other times at the home of Elaine and Charles Tallent, 2020 Old Field Road, Rock Hill.

Franklin Adams
CHARLOTTE - Mr. Franklin Lynn Adams of 1833 Fleetwood Drive died Monday, April 7, 2003, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance in Rock Hill, with the Rev. L.L. Hancock officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lake, in Rock Hill.

A native of York County, Mr. Adams was a son of the late John Robert Denton and Gertrude Adams. He attended York County schools.

Surviving are three sons, Roberto Adams of Columbia, Roderick McCullough of Chester and Eugene White of Rock Hill; three daughters, Tawana Long, Tarneshia Adams and LaDerrika Long, all of Rock Hill; four brothers, Oscar L. Adams of Charlotte, Billy Adams and Sammie James Adams, both of Rock Hill, and Elmore Adams of Middletown, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 850-C Lucas St. and 319 Finley Square in Rock Hill.

James Carter Jr.

ROCK HILL - Mr. James Henry "Stick" Carter Jr. of 464 Frank St. died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral will be noon Friday at Flint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Brunswick officiating and the Rev. Johnny Miller assisting. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

A native of York County, Mr. Carter was a son of the late James Henry Carter Sr. and Martha Brown Carter. He attended Flint Hill Baptist Church. He attended York County schools and York Technical College.

Surviving are three brothers, James C. Carter of Durham, N.C., Marvin L. Brown of Biscoe, N.C., and Christopher E. Carter of Charlotte; and two sisters, Pearlie Mae Brown and Marilyn C. Good, both of Rock Hill.

The family will receive friends at home.

The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.

Isabel Charles

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Isabel W. Charles, 77, of 2333 Brookview Court died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, with the Revs. Robert Alford and Larry Nivens officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park, Cherry Road.

A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Charles was a daughter of the late William Robert Ferrell and Margaret Parker Ferrell. She was a homemaker and formerly worked for the Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. She was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of James W. Charles.

Surviving are her son, Randy Charles of Fort Mill; her daughter, Kathy Alford of Rock Hill; three grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of Randy Charles, 442 Farm Branch Road.

ROCK HILL - Mrs. Roberta "Bobbi" Dennan Frye, 63, of 1134 Oconee Ave. died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Flora Goodman

GREAT FALLS - Mrs. Flora Goodman of 1132 Pearidge Road died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Christopher King's Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, Chester.

Jo Ann Hinson

EDGEMOOR - Mrs. Jo Ann Maner Hinson, 61, of 3680 Mount Holly Road died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Daggett Duncan officiating. Burial will be private.

A native of Mount Clemmons, Mich., Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of Virginia Maner of Kannapolis, N.C., and the late Jack Maner. She was a homemaker and was a member of New Vision Free Will Baptist Church. She was the widow of Donnie Hinson.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Gerald Burdell of Beauray, La., and Johnny Burdell of Columbia; her daughter, Kathy C. Brown of Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers, Mike Maner of Trussville, Ala., Bob Maner of Blythewood, and Jim Maner and John Maner, both of Charlotte; her sister, Jean Autry of Acworth, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and her great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert Kaps

CLOVER - Mr. Robert George Kaps, 58, of 243 Clintwood Drive died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nick Rochester officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Kaps was a son of the late George Kaps and Edna Crump Vea. He worked at Quality Metal Products in Gastonia, N.C., and was a Marine Corps veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Runyan Kaps; two sons, Jamie Kaps of York and Scott Ellis of Clover; four daughters, Kimberly Robinson of Bessemer City, N.C., Candace Splawn and Sherry Lunsford, both of Clover, and Mary Ann Ellis of York; three brothers, Jack Vea of Matthews, N.C., Harley Vea of Charlotte and Charles Tacorda of Blyethville, Ala.; two sisters, Susan Seegal of Atlanta and Judy Ashe of Clover; and eight grandchildren.
