DALZELL — Robert Glenn Havens, 60, husband of Sandra Kay Havens, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at his home. Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., he was a son of the late Glenn Havens and Violet Montgomery Havens. Mr. Havens was retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. Survivors besides his wife of Dalzell include a daughter, Christine Watrous of Preston, Conn.; and a grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SARAH H. JOHNSON

Sarah Harvin Johnson, 81, widow of the Rev. Richard S. Johnson, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born July 18, 1918, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Dozier and Lillie Pearson Harvin. Mrs. Johnson attended Clarendon County public schools. In her youth, she joined St. James AME Church in Summerton. After marriage, she joined and was baptized at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church. Later she joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Paxville, where she served and worked diligently until her her health failed. Survivors include a son, Richard C. Johnson of Sumter; two daughters, Charlene Johnson Jordan of Siloam, Ga., and Delores Johnson Ison of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepson, Joe Simmons of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Fannie Clark of California, Azalee Felder of North Augusta and Albertha Washington of Sumter; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service with the members of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of Job performing the final rites. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Chapel with the Rev. D.L. Grant officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.H. Pringle, the Rev. W.S. Randolph, the Rev. O.J. Hannah and the Rev. Clarence Hilton. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park. Black River ministers will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McKnight, Joseph Washington Jr., Frederick Washington, Willie Jordan Jr. and Richard Jordan. Members of the Senior Missionary Sisters of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church and Black River Association Ministers’ Wives will be flower bearers. The funeral procession will be leave at 2:40 p.m. from the home of her sister, Albertha Washington, 45 Maxwell Ave. The family will receive friends at the same home. FRANK C. MARTIN SR.

Frank Cleveland Martin Sr. died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born May 18, 1927, in Sumter County, he was the eldest of three children born to the late Edward W. Martin and Frances Cook Martin. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1945. He completed four years of agricultural study in the Extension Program at South Carolina State College in Orangeburg. He was a World War II veteran, serving his country in the European Theatre, and was stationed in Germany. He assisted in the administration of troop withdrawal as a military policeman. He was a member of the Sumter American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Martin was an agriculturalist known statewide for his expertise in the husbandry of corn, soybeans, cotton and tobacco. In 1974, he was nominated to run for Sumter County commissioner. He was a lifelong member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He served faithfully in many capacities including church steward, trustee, president of the Methodist Men’s organization, vice co-chairman of the administrative board, and an instructor in the Sunday school program for both youth and adults. He was an avid automobile and cycling enthusiast. Survivors besides his devoted wife of 51 years, Leola Glisson Martin of the home, include a son, Frank C. Martin II of Orangeburg; two daughters, Theresa Martin-Johnson of Atlanta, Ga., and Anita Cautia Martin of Charleston; a brother, Dr. Edward W. Martin of Prairie View, Texas; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 421 S. Main St., with the Rev. Harrison D. Ervin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Johnson, Leroy Hodge, William Mack, Alvin Spencer, Grant Grinnel, Hiram Green and James Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucius Felder, Oliver Dillon, Jimmy Cureton, Leroy Smith, Walter Wilson, Willie Singleton and Roosevelt Levy. Flower bearers will be members of United Methodist Women and the stewardess board of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Palmer Memorial Chapel Inc. MICHAEL PAYNE

GASTON — Michael Ashford Payne, 44, husband of Beverly Pratt Mitchem Payne, died Thursday, May 18, 2000. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late John Daniel and Elsie Norvell Payne. Mr. Payne was employed with Palmetto Candy and Tobacco and was a member of Gantt Street Baptist Church. Survivors besides his wife include a stepson, Jason Mitchem of St. Andrews; and two brothers, Thomas A. Payne of Sumter and Robert N. Payne of Lexington. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Payne and Daniel Payne. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Elmwood Memorial Gardens. JAMES W. SCHULTZ JR.

James Wesley “Jim” Schultz Jr., husband of Magda E. Del Toro Schultz, died today, May 22, 2000, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of Earl Wesley Schultz and Patricia McCall Schultz. Mr. Schultz was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and a former superintendent of the Bishopville Water Department for 10 years. He previously served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors besides his wife of Sumter and his parents of Sumter include a daughter, Tiffany Ann Schultz of Sumter; two brothers, Ross Schultz of Boise, Idaho, and Keith Schultz of Sumter; and a sister, Laytreda Schultz of Mt. Home, Idaho. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Swan Lake Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ken Thomas and the Rev. Chris Wells officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Deas, Brett Justice, Bobby Thomas, John Brannon, John Nesbitt and Garnett McAllister. WEST COLUMBIA — Thelma K. Smith, 93, widow of Ronvie H. Smith, died Saturday, May 20, 2000. Born in Leesville, she was a daughter of the late Paul F. and Lilla Ricard Kyzer. Mrs. Smith was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. She was retired from Pendleton Manufacturing. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Adult School School Class at both Grace Baptist Church and Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, C.W. Smith of West Columbia and Harold R. Smith of Spartanburg; a daughter, Linda S. Witt of Saluda; a brother, Leon Kyzer, formerly of Leesville, now of Blythewood; three sisters, Idell Price of Leesville, Ruby K. Hornsby Brown of Sumter and Cleo Smith, formerly of Cayce, now of Leesville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Patricia J. Parrish and the Rev. Russ Painter, officiating. MANNING — Deacon James William Wilson, 103, widower of Marie Young Wilson, died Thursday evening, May 18, 2000, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 10, 1896, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late William and Agnes Wilson. Mr. Wilson attended Georgetown public schools. In his youth, he accepted Christ as his personal savior and became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a member of the deacon board of 57 years. He was a member of Brotherly Love Masonic Lodge No. 99 and New Light Chapter Order of Eastern Star No. 254. Mr. Wilson was employed with the city of Manning since 1923 as the head of the water department. The city of Manning honored in April 1973, dedicating the city water fountain in his honor. Survivors include a daughter, Estelle Ware of Buffalo, N.Y.; a care-giver and great-granddaughter, Diane Wallace of the home; four grandchildren, Wanda Clark, Gale Gladney and Cynthia Ware, all of Buffalo, and Eugene Ware of Atlanta, Ga.; two great-great-grandchildren, Terrance Wallace and Shannon Spann, both of Manning; a great-great-great grandson, Jaivean T. Spann of Manning; two children he reared as his own, Calvin Wilson and Franklin Thames, both of Manning; and an adopted daughter, Annette Calvin of Manning. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. George P. Windley, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Cokley Richburg and the Rev. Nancy Eldredge Barry, 70, wife of William Donald Barry, died Friday, May 19, 2000 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was a daughter of the late Paul Eldredge and Ida Eldredge. Mrs. Barry attended St. Anne Catholic Church and was president of the Cosmopolitan Club. Survivors besides her husband of Sumter include three sons, Douglas Barry of Florence, Richard Barry of Columbia and David Barry of Wedgefield; four daughters, Barbara McCarthy of Paxville, Susan Ballance of Grapevine, Texas, Anne Cote of Myrtle Beach and Julie Runge of Columbia; a sister, Judith King of Excelsior, Minn.; and 11 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. JAMES L. ROBINSON

GLOVERVILLE — James Lynwood Robinson, 60, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at his home. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Willie Ernest Robinson and Ida Azalee Holley Robinson. He was a veteran of the Navy and worked in the maintenance department of Owens-Corning Fiberglass for 33 years. He was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Survivors include two sons, William Treadaway of Gloverville and Michael Wayne Treadaway of Langley; two daughters, Jean Hicks of Columbia and Crystal Chrisco of Jackson; two brothers, Billy Robinson of Lancaster and Bobby Robinson of Sumter; two sisters, Eloise Bourgette of Camden and Libby Elseth of Augusta, Ga.; and nine grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens in Graniteville. Virginia Lowder Shade, 91, widow of Glen Shade, died Saturday, May 20, 2000 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Junious Lowder and Alice Tindal Lowder. Mrs. Shade was married to the late Charles Francis Johnson, the late D.L. Stokes and the late Glen Shade. She was a member of the First Church of God and was retired from Pioneer Dress Company. Survivors include two sons, C. Franz Johnson of Sumter and Tony Johnson of Mayesville; a brother, Leon Lowder of Eastover; a sister, Jessie Mae Michaels of Sumter; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God with the Revs. Ron Bower and Matt Roe officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Alcolu. Janelle M. Hall, 81, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in the Lucknow community of Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Frierson W. Hall and Mary M. Radcliff Hall. Ms. Hall was retired from General Telephone Company. Survivors include a sister, Ruby H. Pate of Lucknow; two nephews, Arnold Hall of Sumter and Frank Hall of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and two nieces, Dorothy Parkman of Sumter and Carolyn Borden of Durham, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home, with the Rev. Walter Proctor Jr. officiating. MARTHA BLACKWELL

Martha Ann Moses Blackwell, 43, wife of Roosevelt Blackwell, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 15, 1956, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of Maggie Felder Moses and the late Nathan Moses Sr. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age she joined the Calvary Baptist Church, where she served on the Jubilee Choir. She was employed at Gold Kist since 1995. Survivors besides her husband of Pinewood include, two sons, Eric L. Moses of Pinewood and Bernard R. Blackwell of Sumter; a daughter, Adrian E. Blackwell of Pinewood; three brothers, Nathan Moses Jr., Lee Ernest Moses and Clinton Moses, all of Pinewood; and three sisters, Lueretha Moses of Sumter and Ella Mae Tindal and Mary Mae Wilder, both of Pinewood. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Services will be held 4 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Pinewood, with the Rev. E.L. Sanders, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The funeral cortege will leave at 3:15 from the home, 1915 Reynolds Road, Pinewood. The family will receive friends at the home. MYRTLE H. BROWDER

PAGELAND — Myrtle Hodge Browder, 80, widow of James William Browder Sr., died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Union County Hospice in Monroe, N.C. Born April 29, 1920, in Foreston, she was a daughter of the late William Ervin Hodge and Tavie Louise Lowder Hodge. Mrs. Browder was a retired nursing assistant for Baptist Hospital after 22½ years of service. She was a Methodist. She was first married to William Archie Ard Sr. Survivors include two sons, William Archie Ard of West Columbia and William Butler Browder of Prosperity; two daughters, Margaret Ard Moore of Monroe and Joan Browder Eubanks of Jefferson; a stepson, Marion Browder of North Charleston; three stepdaughters, Vivian Browder Howard of Seward, Pa., Evelyn Browder Pearl of Charleston and Lou Elma Leonard of North Charleston; nine grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Keith Vaughn and Marty Hodge officiating. ADA F. CARRINGTON

SUMMERTON — Ada Frierson Carrington, 93, widow of David Simms Carrington Jr., died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at her home, Route 1, Box 1255, in the Camp Bob Cooper community of Summerton after an extended illness. Born June 27, 1906, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late William Grant Frierson and Emma Lemon Frierson. Mrs. Carrington attended Lincoln High School in Sumter. She received a bachelor’s degree in home economics from S.C. State College in Orangeburg. She taught in the Clarendon County public schools and adult education in New York, N.Y. She moved to San Francisco, Calif., in 1965, where she worked in merchandising. She returned to South Carolina and became a member of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she served faithfully as a stewardess and Sunday school teacher until her health declined. Survivors include a son, David Simms Carrington III of Manning; two sisters, Esther F. Johnson of Summerton and Ann Toombs of Santee; and a grandson, Carlton T. Carrington of Savannah, Ga. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Frederick Carrington. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion AME Church, Camp Bob Cooper Road, Summerton, with the Rev. Paul Chandler Jr., widower of Mary M. Chandler, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000. Born in August 1932, he was a son of the late Paul and Bertha Chandler. Mr. Chandler attended Sumter public schools. He was employed at the Lyric Theater for many years, and later worked for the city of Sumter and retired after 30 years. Survivors include a daughter, Paulita C. McCoy of Sumter; two brothers, James and Harold Chandler, both of Sumter; six sisters, Janie Brown of Fanwood, N.J., Mary Hadley of Seat Pleasant, Md., Barbara Allen of Philadelphia, Pa., and Betty Colclough, Berthenia Davis and Emma Alice Nixon, all of Sumter; and a grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Clark United Methodist Church cemetery. Lillie Mae Wallace Disher, 74, widow of Lory McCauthan Disher Jr., died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Kershaw County Memorial Hospital in Camden. Born in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Wallace and Eva Gibbons Wallace. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy L. Disher of Charleston, Gene Disher of Sumter, Terry W. Disher of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronnie R. Disher of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Frances D. Osteen of Camden, Joeann D. Rabon of Camden, Betty D. Boykin of Dalzell; three brothers, Rinnie L. Wallace of Kingstree, Woodrow Wallace of Greeleyville and Kelly Wallace of Barnwell; four sisters, Annie R. Worrell and Adell Tisdale, both of Kingstree, Ivanell Ruvthen of Darlington, Jean Smoke of Barnwell; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. COLUMBIA — Ezekiel “Nuke” Farmer died Monday, May 15, 2000, at Providence Hospital on Forest Drive. Born July 4, 1932, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Bozier Farmer and Viola Walters Farmer. Mr. Farmer attended Sumter County public schools. In his youth, he joined New Bethel Baptist Church. He was employed with Korn Industries Inc. for many years. Survivors include a son, Michael Farmer of Sumter; two daughters, Annette Dyer of Philadelphia, Pa., and Carolyn Farmer of Sumter; two brothers, Jeff B. Farmer of Columbia and Isaac Farmer of Sumter; three sisters, Ellaree Silas and Ella Mae Farmer, both of Sumter, and Emma Jones of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 15 South, Sumter, with the Rev. Willie Wright officiating, assisted by the Rev. Vernon Spencer. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery. Trustees of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and friends will serve as pallbearers, and ushers of the church will serve as flower bearers. Marie Coplin Johnson, widow of Milo Johnson Sr., died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 15, 1913, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late William and Beatrice Coplin. Mrs. Johnson joined Stateburg AME Church in her youth, and later joined St. Luke AME Church, where she remained an active member until her health failed. She was married to the late Milo Johnson Sr. for 62 years. Survivors include two sons, Sammie Johnson of Harrisburg, Pa., and James Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa.; four daughters, Lessie Mae Harris, Marie Davis and Annie Bell Anderson, all of Sumter, and Lilreen Wright of Winter Garden, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Mary Johnson and Milo Johnson Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke AME Church with the Rev. Robert R. Hooper, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The funeral procession will leave from the home, 1695 St. Paul Church Road. Luther Asbury Pack Sr., 75, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Allendale. Born in Savannah, Ga., he was a son of the late Lee Pack and Zell Bunton Pack. Mr. Pack was a civil service employee, serving as deputy chief of contracting at Shaw Air Force Base for 20 years prior to retiring in September 1982. He was also a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Survivors include two sons, Elliott James of Atlanta, Ga., and Freddie Lee Pack of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Sherry Pound of Swansea and Brenda Hucks of Graham, N.C.; two brothers, Lee Pack Jr. and Robert Pack, both of Sumter; and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. G.W. Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association, P.O. Survivors include a daughter, Priscilla Mack of the home; a stepdaughter, Cora Lee Burris of Bishopville; a brother, James Wilson of the home; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Dan Rogers Sr., 94, widower of Letha Rogers, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late William P. Rogers and Mary Skinner Rogers. Mr. Rogers leaves an enduring legacy of his love for God and giving to others. He was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. He was a longtime Sumter businessman, having founded Rogers Radiator Works. Survivors include three sons, Dan Rogers Jr. and C.W. “Bill” Rogers, both of Sumter, and Wayne Rogers of Owatonna, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Howard and the Rev. Ed Holzbach officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Batten, Shelby Batten, John Bradley, Robert Skinner, Bill Rogers and Glenn Rogers. NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Rose Mell Andrews Rose died Monday, May 8, 2000, at a hospital in Newport News. Born March 8, 1938, in Sumter, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Ernest Andrews and Susan Ford Andrews. She attended Sumter County public schools and graduated from Sumter High School in 1957. She accepted Christ in her youth and joined New Bethel Baptist Church in Sumter, where she served on the usher board, was a member of the choirs and attended Sunday school. She and several of her sisters sang on the gospel group called the Andrews Sisters of Sumter. Upon moving to Newport News, she continued her Christian belief and joined Ivy Baptist Church in 1981, where she was active in all church activities including the J.W. Bray Chorus, the missionary society, prayer band and pastor’s anniversary committee and served as a kitchen helper. Survivors include three sons, Woodrow Rose of Washington, D.C., and Winfred Rose and Theran Rose, both of Newport News; five daughters, Rebecca Hines, Anya Rose, Faythe Mayo, Helga Rose and Sharena Rose, all of Newport News; a brother, Richard Andrews of Hampton, Va.; five sisters, Margaret Dukes of Long Island, N.Y., Pauline Shepard of Miami, Fla., Ernestine Cretella of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ruby McCullun of Baltimore, Md., and Betty Vinson of Newport News; a stepbrother, Robert Andrews of Sumter; her foster mother, Annie Lou Pringle of Sumter; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services were held at noon Saturday, May 13, at Ivy Baptist Church in Newport News with the Rev. Henry Maxwell, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Shade Cemetery in Newport News. Dorothy Mae Russell died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 9, 1941, in Rembert, she was a daughter of Henry T. Russell and the late Pauline Osborne Russell. Ms. Russell was reared in the Hagood community of Sumter County. She attended Rafting Creek School and later completed her education at Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Md. She spent many years living in Washington, D.C., and attended First Baptist Church, where she served as a missionary. She was employed at the White House. In the 1960s, she returned to Sumter and became an active member of Rafting Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities and was especially active in the missionary society. While in Sumter she was formerly employed at the Shaw Air Force Base Officer’s Club and the Shaw Lounge. Survivors besides her father of Sumter include two sons, Anthony M. Russell and Marcus A. Russell, both of Sumter; a daughter, Cheryl D. Russell Spearman of Sumter; three brothers, Henry C. Russell of Eastover, Robert G. Russell of Sumter and Johnny G. Russell of Baltimore, Md.; five sisters, Pauline Russell and Amy Russell Brown, both of Sumter, Addie Heriott of Dalzell, and Lureece Brown and Darnell Preston, both of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and a divine daughter, Wanda Moore. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rafting Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles H. Davis, pastor, officiating, assisted by Minister John F. Kennedy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Cheryl Russell Spearman, 1244 Cherryvale Drive. BRONX, N.Y. — Elizabeth Hampton Tudor, 65, wife of Joseph Tudor, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Albert Einstein Hospital in Bronx. Born Nov. 25, 1934, in Sumter County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Emanuel Hampton and Eva Peterson Hampton. Mrs. Tudor attended Goodwill Parochial School, and she earned an A.A. degree at Harberson Junior College in Irmo, S.C., and a bachelor’s degree from Barber-Scotia College in Concord, N.C. In her youth, she joined Goodwill Presbyterian Church. In 1984, he joined West Chester United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully as a member of the United Methodist Women and the chancel and voice of faith gospel choirs. She retired in 1984 as an early childhood teacher. Survivors besides her husband of the home include two daughters, Bettie Browne of Bronx and Iletia Tudor of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, the Rev. Carolina Hampton of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Ida White of Bronx; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Goodwill Presbyterian Church U.S.A, in the Dabbs Crossroads community in Mayesville, S.C., with the Rev. Richard R. Baxter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of her aunt, Ollie Hampton, 5460 Neighborhood Road, in the Dabbs Crossroads community of Mayesville.
