ABBEVILLE -- Joseph Daryl Schall, 67, of 201 Parker St., husband of Rosemary Jones Schall, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at his home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville.

Margaret P. Inabinet

SENECA -- Margaret Patrick Inabinet, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Lila Dole Nursing Center in Seneca.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg.

Scott Smith

STARR -- Joseph Scott Smith, 23, of 110 Bluefield Road died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, in Iva.

The body is at The McDougald Funeral where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The family will be at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Martha Glenn, 312 Chuck Drive, Anderson.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by The McDougald Funeral Home.

Teresa Ferguson

ABBEVILLE -- Teresa Gable Ferguson, 77, of 61 Old Landfill Road, widow of Joe Pat Ferguson, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Abbeville County Memorial Hospital.

Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Grady and Lois Latham Gable.

She was a retired textile employee with Rocky River Mills and was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the adult Sunday school class and the Sarah Dawson Circle.

Surviving are son, Albert Pat Ferguson of Abbeville; daughters, Vickie F. Wilson and Janice F. Ruddock, both of Abbeville; sisters, Evelyn Keys of Coral Springs, Fla., and Shelby Gentry and Phyllis McConnell, both of Anderson; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church by the Rev. John Parks; burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home, Abbeville.

The family is at the home.

Memorials may be made to Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 3836 S.C. 28, North Abbeville, S.C. 29620.

Tom Divver

June 7, 1917 -- December 3, 2003

ANDERSON -- William Thomas Divver, 86, of East Orr Street, husband of Annie May Camak Divver, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at the Hospice House.

He was born in Anderson, the son of the late Thomas Montgomery and Nannie Lewers Dorroh Divver.

Mr. Divver was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in both the WWII and Korean Wars. He was a retired Land Surveyor, and also an Engineering Technician for the SC Highway Department. He was a member of Miriam Masonic Lodge and was a HAM Operator. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Annie May Divver, are one son, William Thomas Divver, Jr., of Spartanburg; one sister, Nancy D. Divver, of Anderson; three grandchildren: Kim Elizabeth Board, Benjamin Thomas Divver, and Sarah June Wolpe; two great grandchildren, Stephanie Elizabeth Board and Kourtney Susan Board.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Banks Dovver and by an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Friday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, conducted by Dr. David J. Bailey. Burial will be in Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The body is at the Downtown Chapel, 401 North Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate. 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.

"Shorty" Griffin

SENECA -- Van "Shorty" Almond Griffin, 61, of 320 Jerica Lane died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in Townville, he was the son of the late Harold Wilburn Griffin. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Michael Griffin, and was retired from construction.

Surviving are widow, JoAnn Galbreath Griffin of the home; son, Jeffrey "Jeff" Van Griffin of Seneca; daughter, Audrey Griffin Shedd of Seneca; mother, Ruby Herring Griffin of Anderson; brothers, Dale Grffin of Fair Play, and Victor Griffin Sr. of Pinellas Park, Fla.; sister, Gloria Herring of Seneca; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at East Main Street Church of God by the Revs. Harrison Steege and Harry Kemp; burial will be in the Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home of Seneca.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, S.C. 29672.

Bill Dennis

Sept. 15, 1933 -- Feb. 5 ,2004

ANDERSON -- William Aaron Dennis, 70, of Wil-Mary Apartment Benson Street, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Sumter, he was a 1959 graduate of the University of South Carolina earning a BA degree in accounting. He was a member and former board member of the Gamecock Club. He was a former member of the Elks Club of Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran and a member of the V.F.W. He an attendant at Carolina Auto Auction.

Surviving are sons, Mark A. Dennis of Newport Richey, Fla., the Rev. Mark Pitts of Mooresville, N.C., and Bobby Pitts of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Susan Brown and Kathi Beford, both of Anderson; sister, Irma Spence of Coldwater, MI; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was the son of the late James Clemence Dennis and Agnes Player Dennis.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at The McDougald Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Pitts. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kathi Beford, 909 Norris Road, Anderson.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. 29621.

Carlie H. Boykin

ANDERSON -- Carlie H. Boykin, 85, of 214 Corning St. died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late James D. Boykin and Effie Day Boykin. He was employed in textiles as a fixer and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Imogene Pierce Boykin of Anderson; son, Larry Boykin of Starr; daughters, Sue Ginn and Lynn Malloy, both of Starr; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, James T. Boykin, Charles Boykin, Rudolph Boykin and Kimsey Boykin; one sister, Thelma Pierce; and two grandchildren, Larry Williamson and Kacey Vaughn.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Funeral Home by the Rev. Sam Duncan; entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The body was at the funeral home where the family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Family members will be at the home of his daughter, Lynn Malloy, 123 Hayes Road, Starr.

Carlton Anderson

DUE WEST -- Carlton Anderson, 78, husband of Eloise Donald Anderson, of 1015 Bethlehem Church Road died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at his home.

The family will be at the home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Robinson-Walker Funeral Service, Ware Shoals.

Eula Dunn Elgin

Jan. 21, 1921 -- Feb. 5, 2004

IVA -- Eula Dunn Elgin, 83, of 52 Pennell Road, Lake Secession, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, she was a former employee of Owens Corning Fiberglas and Clark Schwebel and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Pope Drive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday school class and was active in the senior adult activities.

Surviving are son, Jimmy Elgin of Anderson; daughter, Marlene Elgin Partain of the home; sisters, Sula Dunn Baker Sanders of Clemson and Lucille Dunn Byers of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was the widow of Elias James Elgin and the daughter of the late Wiley Columbus Dunn and Ollie Ashworth Dunn.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at The McDougald Funeral Home by the Rev. Ken Wright; burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home.

Flowers are optional. The family suggests memorials be made to Pope Drive Baptist Church, 2510 Pope Drive, Anderson.

Jessie Fielding Gillespie

LIBERTY -- Jessie Fielding Gillespie, 88, husband of Vader Williams Gillespie, of 1024 Melton Road died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Easley Nursing Center.

He was the son of the late John C. and Janie Conley Gillespie. He was a life-long member of Bishop Branch Baptist Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher. He was retired from Alice Manufacturing Company, Easley.

Surviving are widow, Vader Williams Gillespie; daughters, Froline Thomas of Greenville, and Brenda Nix of Saluda, and Janice Limbaugh of Easley; brother, Tom Gillespie of La France; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Cross Creek; burial will be in Memory Gardens, Clemson. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Building Funding of Bishop Branch Baptist Church, 1109 Central Road, Central, S.C. 29630.

John Morrison Russell Jr.

LAURENS -- John Morrison Russell Jr., 79, husband of Norma Johnson Russell, of 2985 Fleming Mill Road died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Richard Campbell Nursing Home, Anderson.

Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was the son of the late John Morrison and Nettie Jane Hunter Russell. He was retired from Wood Hearing and Air Conditioning and was an U.S. Navy.

Surviving are widow, Norma Johnson Russell; daughter, Kathleen Russell Marler; son, John Stanley Russell; stepson, Edward Lawrence Jr.; brother, William Beaver Russell; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Graceland East Mausoleum. The family will receive friends after the service at the mausoleum.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, S.C.. 29601.

Jonathan Levii English

Jonathan Levii English, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004.

Born in Rabun County, he graduated in 1999 from Rabun County High School where he was captain of the football team. He was a member of the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Logan Elizabeth English of Georgia Southern University; mother, Kelly Wyatt Owens of Vidalia, Ga.; father, Lonnie English of Clayton; stepmother, Caroline West English; stepfather, Dean Owens; maternal grandparents, Betty and Leigh Wyatt of Rabun Gap; paternal grandparents, the late Ray and Bennice English of Clayton; his maternal great-grandparents, Beatrice Kelly and the late Claude Kelly of Rabun Gap; stepbrother, Barclay Matheson of Clayton; stepsisters, Casie and Hannah Owens of Pelham,

Visitation will be at Beck Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard by the Revs. Doug Porter and Bo James. Graveside services will be in Persimmon Community Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his father, Lonnie English, Deerfield Subdivision, Clayton and at the home of Kelly's parents, Betty and Leigh Wyatt, Kellys Creek Road, Rabun Gap.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rabun County Athletic Boosters Club, P.O. Box 1873, Clayton, Ga. 30525.
