MR. GARFIELD DANENHOWER, JR.

PENDLETON, SC - Mr. Garfield W. Danenhower, Jr. 91 years old.

Gar was born in Haddonfield, NJ on 2/4/1914. He was the son of G.W. Danenhower and Josephine Souder. He attended Rutgers University and the Wharton School of Business. He went to Aruba in 1937 with Standard Oil.

From 1942-1952 Gar owned and ran a dairy farm in N.J. He and his family moved to S.C. in 1952. He raised Angus and was the owner/operator of Dancraft Services until his retirement. He was a member of Pendleton Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher for many years. Gar is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Jill) W. Danenhower, a son Dr. G.W. Danenhower, III of Pomfret, CT, two daughters, Susan D. Smith and Phyllis D. Fowler of Anderson, SC; three grandsons, John G. Fowler, PharmD of Charleston, Christopher Clay Danenhower, MD of Bellingham, WA, Lance Smith if Bremmerton, WA, and a granddaughter Ashley A. Danenhower of Anderson, SC, and three great grandsons Asa and Max Danenhower and Garfield Spencer Fowler. He was preceded in death by three brothers John, Robert, and Harold Danenhower.

Memorial services will be held at the Pendleton Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, April 27th at 3:00 PM. The family will visit with friends at the home after the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels at 105 S Fant Street, Anderson, SC, The Hospice of the Upstate at 1835 Rogers Rd Anderson, SC or the Pendleton Presbyterian Church, 603 S. Mechanic Street, Pendleton, SC.

PANSY ANNA PALMER

May 25, 1926 - April 24, 2005

SENECA - Pansy Anna Palmer, 78, formerly of Anderson, SC, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at her daughter's home in Seneca, SC.

Born in Mount Airy, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Vera Allred. She was a retired Registered Nurse and served the Lord in that capacity for many years. Ms. Palmer was a loving mother to Brenda Anne Palmer, of Oahu, Hawaii and Susan "Susie" Grant of Seneca, SC. She is also survived by her step-mother, Lavis Allred, Sister, Willodean Hatcher, and Brother Jerry Allred, all of Mount Airy, NC. She had 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, Edward Palmer, Jr., and Marshall Palmer; sisters, Wanda Baker and Betty Joe Cook; a brother, Albert Allred.

Graveside services are Monday, April 25, 2005, at 3:30 at Ramsey Creek Preserve in Westminster, SC with the Rev. David Blizzard officiating. Friends will be received at the graveside directly after the service.

ADEAL GRAHAM

ANDERSON -- Adeal Rucker Graham, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Hospice of the Upstate.

She was born in Bowman, Ga., and lived most of her adult life in New York where she worked as a nursing assistant. She relocated to Anderson, South Carolina in the early 90's.

She was the daughter of the late Dock and Lettie Mae Pledger Rucker and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Wilma Graham Jones; a brother, Gordon Rucker; and sisters, Pauline King, Leora Anderson, Ardie Burch, Irene Samuels, Willie Winn, Lillian Sadler and Ida Neal.

She was the last surviving member her immediate family.

Surviving are, two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel, D.B. Walker & Co. Funeral Services, Anderson, by the Revs. Horace Alexander Jr. and Joe B. Winn; burial will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens. The body is at the funeral home and will be on view Saturday beginning at noon. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m.

The family is at the home of her grandsons, Walter Jones, 1507 Nardin Ave. and Roger Jones, 420 Simpson Road, Apartment H, Anderson.

BABY BOY JADIAHS MALEEK ADAMS-DIXON

BELTON -- Baby Boy Jadiahs Maleek Adams-Dixon of 131 Major Meadows Road died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Surviving are his parents, Retasha A. Dixon of Belton and Quincy L. Adams of Anderson; sister, Shekinah Dixon of the home; brother, Adaricus Adams of Anderson; grandparents, Frances Dixon and Thomas J. Henry, both of Belton, and Kay Adams of Anderson; and his great-grandfather, Randolph Dixon of Belton.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leon Adams, and his great-grandmother, Fronie Dixon.

Graveside services will be held at noon at Belton City cemetery by Dr. Corey Williams and the Rev. James Donalds.

Hollaway's Funeral Home, 101 Holloway Boulevard, Belton is in charge of arrangements.

CLAUDIA SEAWRIGHT

DONALDS -- Claudia Gambrell Seawright, 91, of 347 Highway 178 N., widow of William A. (Gus) Seawright, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Edd and Bessie Lusk Gambrell. She was retired from Oxford Industries and the Honea Path Shirtmakers. She was a former resident of Country Heritage in Anderson, and was a member of Greenville Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jane S. Locke and Kenneth Locke of Anderson; two sisters, Odell Smith and Catherine Ashley, both of Donalds; one sister-in-law, Clara S. Sharpe of Anderson; two grandchildren, Jana Locke Price and her husband Ken of Anderson, and Stephen Locke and his wife Sharon of Kennesaw, GA; six grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, and Emily Anna Price, all of Anderson, and Fletcher, Emma, and Mary Locke, all of Kennesaw, GA. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Seawright; four brothers, Carrol, Woodrow, Edd, and Pat Gambrell; three sisters, Nellie Lusk, Corrine Hendricks, and Juanita Gordon.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Greenville Presbyterian Church with Dr. George Wilson and Rev. Webster Curry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at Pruitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Saturday. The body will be placed in the church at 2:00 P.M. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621, or to Greenville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 157, Donalds, SC 29638. The family is at the home of her daughter, Jane Locke, 2511 Broadway Lake Rd., Anderson.

ELIZABETH 'LIB' W. HOWE

NORRIS -- Elizabeth "Lib" Winchester Howe, 77, of 130 Depot St., wife of the late Edward Lee Howe, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.

Born in Sunset, she was the daughter of the late Ben T. Winchester Sr. and Mary Garrett Winchester.

She was retired from Swirl Manufacturing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norris and the Senior Center of Liberty.

Surviving are her brothers and sisters, Leona Crowther and Evelyn Breazeale, both of Pickens, Christine Kearney of Greenville, John V. Winchester of Hope Mills, N.C., Mary Hull, Esther Kelley, Ben Winchester Jr. and Ruth Hinkle, all of Pickens, Janie Sorrells of Easley, Martha Reavis of Statesville, N.C., and Myrtie Cochran of Elgin.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, D.S., David, and Hubert Winchester.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Norris, P.O. Drawer E., Norris, S.C. 29667 or to the charity of one's choice.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

ELIZABETH BROWN

April 26, 1929 -- Oct. 28, 2005

ANDERSON -- Margaret Elizabeth Hanvey Brown, 76, of 4312 Belton Highway died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Johnny D. Hanvey and Mary Etta Dutton Hanvey. She was retired from textiles and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her sons, Willis Brown of the home, Milton Brown and Terry Brown, both of Belton, Ted Brown of Anderson and the Rev. John Brown of Pickens; daughters, Margaret Brown and Ann Mitchell, both of Belton, and Cheryl Erskine of Anderson; brothers, Dayle Hanvey of Westminster, and David Hanvey of Idaho; sisters, Mary Alice Gambrell of Belton, Ann Burdett of Newport, Tenn., Mary Wardlaw of Belton, and Lisa Hanvey of Columbia; 24 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rickey W. Brown; two brothers, Ray Hanvey and Bobby Hanvey; a sister, Frances Evans; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Belton officiated by the Rev. Stevie Stone.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. 29621.

FRED SIMPSON

LIBERTY -- Fred Simpson, 62, of 110 Sitton St. died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Sarah Lay Simpson. He was a retired brickmason and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are his sisters, Annette McGowens of Greenville, Florence Rosemond and Edna Pendergrass of Easley, Patricia Cason of Liberty and Genevieve Thompson of Powdersville; and his brothers, Herman Lee Simpson of Newark, N.J., and Robert Henry Simpson of Powdersville.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church by the Revs. Ulysee Durham and Anthony Cason. Burial will be in West View Cemetery.

The family is at the home of his sister, Patricia Cason, 110 Sitton St.

S.C. Franks Chapel of Remembrance, Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

JENNIE LOU LATIMER

June 22, 1915 -- Oct. 26, 2005

BELTON -- Jennie Lou Latimer, 90, of 2A Glenwood Apartments, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Daniel Posey and Janie Bruce Posey.

She was born in Anderson County and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Belton where she served on the mother board, missionary circle No. 1, a deaconess and was a former member of the Thomasena Chapter 206 Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Mack Latimer Sr.; five sons, Charlie Mack Latimer Jr., Raphus Latimer, Daniel Latimer, Grady Latimer and Rudolph Latimer; seven brothers; and five sisters.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are daughters, Janie L. Moore of Saginaw, Mich., Mamie Donald, Sarah Latimer and Diane Latimer, all of Honea Path, and Delphenia Latimer and Thula Coleman, both of Belton; sons, Wilbert Latimer and Frank Latimer, both of Anderson, Charles Latimer and Jimmy Latimer, both of Belton, and Robert L. Latimer of Charlotte, N.C.; 37 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church by the Revs. Donnie O. Gambrell III, J.E. Palmer, Kenneth Dean and William Cowan. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Holloway's Funeral Home, Belton and will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. A walk in visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

The family is at the home.

GREENVILLE -- Johnny Clay, 53, of 113 Scott St., died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Hospice of the Upstate.

MARY ANN LANGLEY

May 9, 1933-Oct. 27, 2005

SPARTANBURG, SC -- Mary Ann Tillotson Langley, 72, of 335 Briarcliff Road, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born May 9, 1933, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Floy Leonard and Lillian Elizabeth Miller Tillotson and the wife of the late Maxie D. King. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, she was retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and was also a longtime employee of Anderson Memorial Hospital as a patient representative and at the Charles Lea Center. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, Barry S. King and his wife Cathy of Anderson; two granddaughters, Chasni King of Anderson, and Shannon Newman of Inman; a sister, Bobbie Breedlove of Spartanburg; a brother, Tommy Tillotson of Spartanburg; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David L. King; a daughter, Sherry Ann B. King; and a sister, Floy E. Casman.

Visitation will be 2:30-3:45 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family is at the home of her sister, Bobbie Breedlove, 1468-H Dover Road, Spartanburg.

SENECA -- Natalie Maddison Owens, infant daughter of Chris and Renae Owens, of 1208 E. Main St., died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her parents Chris and Renae Owens as well as her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Ginny Brown of Anderson, and her paternal grandparents, Todd and Kathi Owens of West Union.

There will be a graveside service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ramsey Creek Preserve in Westminster.

Flowers may be sent to the home at 1208 East Main St., Seneca.

Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home of Seneca is in charge of arrangements.
