THE REV. JESS ADDIS

WEST UNION -- The Rev. Jess Lawrence Addis Jr., 84, husband of Barbara Addis Addis, of Foothills Manor died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Jess Lawrence Addis Sr. and Minnie Lee Butler Addis. He was a retired Baptist minister.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his son, Jess Lawrence Addis III of Walhalla; daughter, Dianna Addis Pyron of Anderson; brothers, Butler Addis of West Union, and J. Dawson Addis of Columbia; sister, Gertrude Tharpe of Birmingham, Ala.; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Davenport Funeral Home with burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. before the service on Sunday.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

THOMAS RONALD 'RONNIE' REYNOLDS

June 13, 1962 -- Oct. 27, 2005

ANDERSON -- Thomas Ronald "Ronnie" Reynolds, 43, of 3514 Wood Cone Trail died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Elbert County.

Born in Elberton, Ga., he was retired from textiles and was of the nondenominational faith.

Surviving are his mother, Wanda Sue Elgin Wood of Anderson and his father Aaron Reynolds and stepmother, Janet Reynolds of Elberton, Ga.; son, Michael Reynolds of Belton; brother, Billy Reynolds of Anderson; sister, Joy Wood Timms of Anderson; and a stepbrother, Cary Wood of Green Bay, Wis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Reynolds; a stepbrother, Kenneth Ray Wood; stepfather, Wylie Ray Wood; and his grandmother, Ruby Elgin.

Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday Woodlawn Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronnie Powell.

The family will be at the home of his mother, Wanda Sue Elgin Wood, 3514 Wood Cone Trail, Anderson.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 219 W. Whitner St., Anderson, S.C. 29624.

THRASHLEY L. BOWIE, SR.

ABBEVILLE, SC -- Thrashley L. Bowie, Sr., 86, of 1000 N. Main St., Abbeville, died Friday, October 28, 2005 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Mary Norman Bowie and the late Helen Frances Bowie. Mr. Bowie was born in Abbeville County to the late Allen B. and Mamie Nabors Bowie. He was the owner and operator of Bowies Body Shop from 1959-1980 where he helped many young people get a start in the work force. Mr. Bowie also enjoyed weekly to go and dance at the Lowndesville Community Dance Hall. He also retired from the Abbeville City Fire Department and was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Mr. Bowie was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #3, he was a Shriner, member of the Hejaz Temple and former member of the Abbeville Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Harvey and Wallace Bowie.

Surviving Mr. Bowie is his wife of the home; two daughters, Frankie Cozart of Mountville, SC and Theresa Ashley of Abbeville, SC; two sons, Thrashley "Rock" Bowier, Jr., and Bob Bowie both of Abbeville; a sister, Katherine Hill of Athens, GA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00PM Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Gilgal Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Bowie may be sent to the Greenville Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or to a charity of ones choice.

TROY ALLEN BINNS

CLOVER, SC -- Troy Allen "Choo-Choo" Binns, 29, of 531 Hwy 161 N., Clover, SC, died Thursday, October 27, 2005.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of James "Jimmy" Allen and Patricia "Pat" Dean Binns of Travelers Rest.

Troy served in the U.S. Navy and was employed with Freightliner in Gastonia, NC. He was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Jeris Hagans Binns, of the home; a daughter, Shelby Elizabeth Binns, of the home; a brother, Trevor Binns and wife Jessica, of Travelers Rest; mother and father-in-law, Vicky and Jerry Hagans, of Clover; and a grandmother, Velma Timms, of Calhoun Falls.

He is predeceased by maternal grandparents, Esther Dean Burden and William Howard Dean; a step-grandfather, L.C. Burden; and a paternal grandfather, Horace Neal Binns.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.

Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Monaghan Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grand View Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of parents Jimmy and Pat Binns, 11 Windtree Ct., Travelers Rest, 29690.

ANN HADDOCK

February 9, 1913-November 22, 2005

ANDERSON --- Ann Jones Haddock, 92, of 103-A Clinton Drive, widow of Francis B. Haddock, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Franklin County, GA, the daughter of the late John Davidson and Ephysia Baldwin Jones. She was a retired beautician with Shear Magic Beauty Salon.

Surviving are two daughters, Jane Haddock Waters of Anderson and Alice Rozellen Moore of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren, Robert F. Anthony of Anderson, Jill A. Strickland of Anderson, Marian Brown of Columbia, TN, Mike E. Waters of Anderson, Thomas E. Waters of Kennesaw, GA, and David Echols of Texas; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Ann Haddock Anthony; two sisters, Evia J. Erskine and Mary J. Calhoun; four brothers, Tom Ed Jones, Homer Jones, Leonard Jones and Lloyd Jones.

The family will receive friends at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, 401 North Main Street, from 6 until 8 P.M. Wednesday. Private services will be at a later date.

ELSIE GRAY

ANDERSON -- Elsie M. Gray, 81, of Iva, widow of Hugh Major Gray, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.

Born on Sept. 8, 1924, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Ernest McKee and Nina McKee. She had retired from Jackson Mill and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are son, Doug Gray of Iva; sister, Ellen Hall of Iva; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Chapel Mausoleum by the Rev. Jerry Gray.

The family will be at the home of her son, Doug Gray, 309 Randolph Drive, Iva.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. or the Iva Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 519, Iva, S.C. 29655.

HELEN FRANCES GRIFFIN DOBSON

RALEIGH, N.C. --- Helen Frances Griffin Dobson, 81, died November 22, 2005 in Raleigh, NC, of complications from a stroke. Mrs. Dobson was born in Six Mile, SC, the oldest of four children of Irene and Sarge Griffin of Central, SC. After graduating from Central High School, Helen attended Anderson College. For several years she worked in various administrative positions.

Mrs. Dobson then enjoyed many years as an Army officer's wife. She was fortunate to live in interesting places, i.e. Jordan, Israel, Syria, and Germany. During these years she enjoyed traveling throughout the Middle East and Europe. Upon retirement in Raleigh, NC, Mrs. Dobson was an active volunteer as a "Pink Lady" , and with North Raleigh United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her husband of 46 years, William C. "Bill" Dobson, Jr., (Colonel, U.S. Army Retired); daughter, Barbara Dua and husband, Douglas Harton of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Kimberly Beavers and husband, Kevin Drexel of Asheville, NC; grandson, Ashley J. Beavers, Jr., of Lexington, KY; brother, Billy Griffin and wife, Leta Griffin of Seneca, SC; sister-in-law, Miriam Griffin of Central, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service and interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, SC on Friday, November 25, 2005, at 1:00p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to North Raleigh United Methodist Church, 8501 Honeycutt Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.

JESSE L. REESE

MCCORMICK -- Jesse L. Reese, 83, of 503 Calhoun St. McCormick, husband of Martha "Polly" Reese, died Sunday, November 21, 2005 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. He was born in McCormick to the late James Morgan and Rosalind Cartledge Reese. Mr. Reese was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and great-grandfather, and a hard worker; he retired from Cox Furniture Store after 22 years, retired from the McCormick Feed and Seed, and he retired from the Town of McCormick where he served in various positions. Mr. Reese was an active member of the McCormick First Baptist Church where he served as a Past Deacon. He also was a Past Master with the Parksville Masonic Lodge #199.

His three brothers, John, William, and Charles Reese and a sister, Lillian Bussey, preceded Mr. Reese in death.

Surviving Mr. Reese is his wife of 58 years of the home, four sons, Richard M. Reese and his wife Beth of Anderson, Larry Reese and his wife Vicki of Ninety-Six, Don Reese and his wife Kathy of Abbeville, and Bill Reese and his wife Carolyn of Lexington, two sisters, Rose Talbert and Margie Bussey both of McCormick, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the 4th Floor MCCU Unit at Providence Hospital in Columbia for their support, love and care that they provided to the family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in the McCormick First Baptist Church 108 Oak St. Burial will follow in Overbrook Cemetery.

The family is at the residence.

KATHERINE BOTTOMS

SENECA -- Katherine Louise Chambers Bottoms, 75, widow of James M. Bottoms of 8901 Fairview Church Road, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at her residence.

A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Johnson Patrick and Dessie Cox Chambers. She was a retired employee of Kendall Company and a member of Fairview Southern Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Marlene Field, Elaine Steele and Pricilla DaCosta, all Seneca; brother, Bob Chambers of Seneca; sisters, Helen Panuccio and Pauline Smith, both of Seneca; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jordan Nichols; and brothers, James and Bill Chambers.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Davenport Funeral Home chapel; burial in Fairview Southern Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family members are at their respective homes.

LEITH PAUL TRASK III

BEAUFORT -- Leith Paul Trask III, 20, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, in Beaufort County.

Born on Aug. 11, 1985 in Beaufort, he was a son of L. Paul Trask and Meredith "Merry" Carmichael Trask.

He was a 2004 graduate of Middlesex School in Concord, Mass., where he was an accomplished athlete and captain of the football team. He was a sophomore at The Citadel in Charleston (Tango Company) and a pre-business major. He played football his freshman year.

Surviving are his parents of Beaufort; maternal grandmother, Eleanor J. Carmichael of Abbeville; paternal grandmother, Marjorie F. Trask of Beaufort; and brothers, Stuart L. Trask and Webster Trask of Beaufort.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery in Beaufort.
