Mr. Stogner died Saturday, April 12, 2003. Born in Darlington Co., SC, he was a son of the late Clarence and Katherine Gainey Stogner. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a civil contractor in Viet Nam. He was previously employed with J. A. Jones, Morrison - Knudsen and Nello - Teer Construction Companies.

Surviving are his wife, Chanie Stogner of Lexington, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Rebecca Stogner of Taylors, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Steve Brewer of Sanford, NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Selma LeHardy of Hartsville, SC, Kitty and Murch Somers of Summerville, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pinky and Peggy Stogner of Hartsville, SC, Coker and Nancy Stogner of Isle of Palms, SC; grandchildren, Will Stogner, Elizabeth Stogner, Daniel Arnold, Matthew Arnold, Stephen Brewer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Byrd Stogner.

Mrs. Hays died Saturday, June7, 2003. Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, she was the daughter of the late Beler and Mary Kidd Langston. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Hartsville Chapter #91 Order of the Eastern Star, and was a 1927 graduate of Hartsville High School. Mrs. Hays was a member and volunteer for several service organizations.

Surviving are her husband of 71 years, Columbus Franklin Hays, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; son and daughter-in-law, C. Franklin and Elaine Hays, III of Hartsville, SC; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and William M. Hagood, III of Easley, SC, Faye and Dr. Thomas E. Hearon, III of Columbia, SC; brother, Marvin K. Langston of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Columbus Franklin Hays, IV, Craig Porter Hays, Virginia Hagood MacDonald, Dr. Elizabeth Hearon Lindsey, Mary Kent Hearon, Thomas Edward Hearon, IV; great - grandson, Wilson Buchanan Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her brothers Murphy Langston, Edward Langston, Bealor Langston, Charles Langston and Robert Langston; grandson, William M. Hagood, IV.

Mrs. Gainey, widow of James T. Gainey, died Saturday, June 14, 2003. Born in Chesterfield Co., SC, she was a daughter of the late George Hunter, Sr. and Margaret Ann Tyner Hunter. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was so loving and giving to her family and friends.

Surviving are her sisters, Lula H. Howle of Hartsville, SC, Lessie H. Ogle of Wilmington, NC; brothers, George W. Hunter, Jr. of Hartsville, SC, Allen M. Hunter of Hartsville, SC, Paul R. She was a member of John Wesley Methodist Church. She retired from Sonoco Products Company after 29 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Club.

Surviving are her son, Nick H Grantham of Hartsville; daughter, Mary G Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Francis K Kelley of Hartsville; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two great - great grandchildren.

He retired from Sonoco after 45 years, was a member of the Sonoco Old Timer's Club, Hartsville Woodworkers, and was Past Master of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge #173.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Blackmon of Hartsville, SC; daughters and son-in-law, Beth Blackmon of Hartsville, SC, Kathleen B. and Joel Canada of Alpharetta, GA; sisters, Hattie Revell of Hartsville, SC, Virginia Jordan of Hartsville, SC, Mildred Andrews of Whitmire, SC; 5 grandchildren; 6 great - grandchildren.
