Mr. Winburn died Monday, December 16, 2002. Born in Fulda, Germany, he was a son of Cordy Lee and Walburga “Vallie” Steger Winburn, Jr. He was a member of the Hartsville Calvary Church of the Nazarene. He was employed with Sonoco Products Company and previously worked at INA Bearing for seven years. The family was his top priority and his children were his life. He was an avid fisherman and collector or knives. He also had a love for old cars.

Surviving are his wife, Tammy Dixon Winburn of Patrick, SC; son, Joshua August Winburn of Patrick, SC; daughter, Cherish Danielle Winburn of Patrick, SC; his parents of Hartsville, SC; brother, Ricky Winburn of Hartsville, SC.

Mr. Yarborough died Sunday, December 15, 2002. Born in Darlington County, SC, he was a son of the late Carl and Christine Douglas Yarborough, Sr. He was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene, a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, and the "Buck" Yarborough Sunday school class was named in his honor. He was retired from Sonoco after 43 years of service, a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club, Pee Dee Center Patient Council Association, and the Mental Health Association of Darlington County.

Surviving are his wife, Faye Sumner Yarborough of Hartsville, SC; son, Mark S. Yarborough of Florence, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Dr. Ken Evans of Hartsville, SC; grandson, Justin Evans of Hartsville, SC.

He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, the owner and operator of Shirley's Barber Shop for 65 years, and was an avid outdoorsman.

Mr. Byrd, widower of Virginia O’Neal Byrd, died Sunday, December 29, 2002. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Lucas M. and Catherine B. Byrd. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was employed with Sonoco Products Company for 52 years. At the time of his retirement at age 70 from the power department, he was the company’s most senior employee. Mr. Byrd farmed in Darlington County, raising cash crops and quail. He was a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club.

Mr. Jordan, widower of Leila Pearce Jordan, died Monday, January 6, 2003. Born in Fairfield County, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lizzie Beaty Jordan. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy, a member of the American Legion #53, a former Harley Davidson Dealership owner, one of the founding members of the Hartsville Rescue Squad, one of the parents responsible for building the Little League Baseball field, and rode motorcycles until he was 87 years old.

Surviving are his son, Tommy G. Jordan, Jr. of Hartsville, SC; granddaughter, Kim Jordan of Hartsville, SC.

She was a life long member of Welsh Neck Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. In 2002 she received the Pastor’s Award of Devotion and Dedication, in 1991 she was named Honorary Grandma of the Society Hill Rescue Squad. She operated Hill’s Store since 1954.
