WILLIE MAE ANDERSON

LYNCHBURG - Willie Mae Anderson of Lynchburg and the widow of David "Top" Anderson, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at Cooke Associates in Florence, after a long illness. She was 84.

Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Memorie Wilson and Charlie Wright. She attended the public schools of Lee Coutny, and was a member of St. Matthew AME Church in Lynchburg.

Mrs. Anderson leaevs to cherish her memories one daughter, Rebecca Prince of Lynchburg; six grandchildern; eight great - grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Isaac Anderson; her sister, Victory Parrott, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Parrott.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. Matthew AME Church in Lynchburg. The Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Broad Branch cemetery in Wisacky.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Rebecca Prince of 254 W. Main St., Lynchburg.

Jefferson Funeral Home of Lynchburg is in charge of funeral arrangements.

SAM MCLEOD

Sam McLeod, 86, husband of Murine Coulter McLeod, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Services will be announced by Elmore - Hill - McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory.

EUGENE N. WISNIEWSKI

Eugene N. Wisniewski, 72, husband of Phyllis Olson Wisniewski, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Palmetto Baptist Medical Hospital in Columbia.

Born in Chicago, he was the son of the late Edward Wisniewski and the late Eleanor Fisher Wisniewski.

Mr. Wisniewski was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He retired from Acme Strapping Co. and was a former member of the Elks Club.

Surviving are his wife of the home, four daughters, Lynda Konrad and her husband, Fred, of Lockport, Ill.; Laura Wisniewski of Watertown, Wis., Jacqueline Stewart and her husband, Michael, of Sumter, Michelle Miles of Sumter; three sisters, Geraldine Garczynski and her husband, Ted, of Tinley Park, Ill., Darlene Strompolis and Janet Cavanaugh, both of Chicago; one brother, Herbert Wisniewski and his wife, Mary, of South Holland, Ill.; seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wisniewski Jr.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Tony Metze officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Konrad, Michael Stewart, Kevin Miles, Herbert Wisniewski, Roger Baker and Ted Garczynski.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elmore - Hill - McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home of his daughter, 715 Oakbrook Blvd.

Memorials may be sent to St. James Lutheran Church, 1137 Alice Drive, Sumter, SC 29150, or to Bethesda Lutheran Home, Watertown Wis.

VERGIE H. FARMER

Vergie Horne Farmer, 78, wife of Earl Farmer, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Dillon County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Horne and the late Daisy Florence Hayes Horne.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Edward E. Farmer and Ervin Farmer both of Sumter; one daughter, Barbara Farmer of West Columbia; three sisters, Mildred Freezon, Vivian Burnside both of Columbia and Clara Patterson of North Charleston; six grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Horne and Holman Horne.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Elmore - Hill - McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Raymond F. Shepherd and the Rev. Vic VanRas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elmore - Hill - McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory.

EDITH C. ROGERS

Edith Christmas Rogers, 84, widow of Thomas Pinkney Rogers, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Henry Christmas and the late Atha Baker Christmas.

She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Elliott.

Survivors include two sons, Samuel Roger Boykin of Sanford, Fla., and David Marion Boykin of Sonora, Calif.; one sister, Ruby Christmas Geddings of Sumter; three grandchildren, Adam, Sierra and Michael; one great - grandchild, Michael; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Heyward V. Christmas, Levander A. Christmas, English H. Christmas and Bainard L. Christmas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Luke Methodist Church, Elliott, with the Rev. Jim Ridenhour officiating.

Burial will be in the Wells cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Elmore - Cannon - Stephens Funeral Home.

SAMMIE CAMPBELL

Sammie Campbell, 66, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Sumter County, and was the son of the late Sam Campbell and Mary Dora Hunter Campbell.

The family will receive friends at the home of his brother, Francis Campbell of 2930 Ben Sanders Road, Dalzell.

Funeral services will be announced by Palmer Memorial Chapel.

THERON F. PARISOE

SUMMERTON - Theron Forrest Parisoe, 94, widower of Lucille Kisthardt Parisoe, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born in Cleveland, he was a son of the late Charles Warren and Josephine Johnston Parisoe. He was retired owner and operator of auto repair shops in Ohio and Florida, a member of Summerton Baptist Church, served for 13 years on the board of deacons at Gospel Tabernacle on Lakeshore Drive in Leesburg, Fla., and was a member of the Mayflower Society.

Surviving are two daughters, Janine Woodard of Leesburg, Fla., and Marjorie Baxley of Ocala, Fla.; three sons, Leon Parisoe of Raleigh, N.C., David Gerald Parisoe of Groveland, Fla., and Russell G. Parisoe of Leesburg, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and number of great - grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Summerton Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Pierce and the Rev. Carolyn Malphrus officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Midstate S.C. Chapter, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202 - 7044.

MARYLU S. TAYLOR

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - MaryLu Shaw Taylor, 72, wife of Lee Taylor, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in Franklin, Tenn.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Gifford Wells Shaw and the late Dorothy Burns Shaw.

Surviving are her husband of Franklin, Tenn.; a son, Joe Taylor of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Elaine Taylor Fussell of Brentwood, Tenn.; a brother, Ervin B. Shaw of Sumter; a sister, Martha P. Shaw of Sumter; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, Tenn.

FELICIA A. SIMS

BISHOPVILLE - Little Miss Felicia Alexis Ann Sims, daughter of Cheryl and Marvin Sims, was born Sept. 24, 2003, at Carolina Pines Hospital in Hartsville. God saw fit to reclaim this precious gift as she departed this earthly life on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her devoted and loving mother and father; three sisters, Ashleigh and Helen of the home and Latasha Sims of Sumter; one brother, Marvin Sims Jr. of Sumter; paternal grandmother, Carrie Sims of Mayesville; maternal grandfather, John Mott Jr. of Bishopville; three aunts, Ruth (Harry) Anderson, Diane and DeLoris Sims, all of Mayesville; four uncles, Tyron (Denise) Mott of Awendaw, James Sims and Tommy Smith of Mayesville and Bobby Sims of California; her godmother, Sylvia A. Scott; several cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Bethel AME Church with the Rev. Jerome McCray officiating. Burial will be in Thomastown cemetery.

Viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

JOHN JENNINGS

John Jennings, husband of Elizabeth "Christine" Jennings, died Nov. 24, 2003, at the Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 10, 1937, in Hartsville, he was a son of the late Kelly Jennings and Louise Samuel Jennings.

The family will receive friends at the home of his wife, Christine Jennings, 1035 Waterway Drive, Sumter.

Services will be announced by Palmer Memorial Chapel Inc. of Sumter.

RENA GILYARD

SUMMERTON - Rena Gilyard, 88, widow of Adam Gilyard, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at 4D Meadow Field Apartments.

Born Oct. 29, 1915, in Summerton, she was the daughter of the late Stephanie Mechant and the late Janie Mechant.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Robinson, 1165 Hall St.

Services will be announced by King Funeral Home of Summerton.
