ELIZA BELSER
RANDALLSTOWN, Md. -- Mrs. Eliza Jane Pugh Belser of 254 1/2 E. Red Bay Road, Sumter, S.C., died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Randallstown Center, Randallstown, Md. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Warren Pugh and Reya Pugh, and the widow of Mr. George Belser. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church. She was the mother of the church, the gospel choir, and was a member of the Missionary Society.
Survivors are one son, Mr. Lenoard Belser of Baltimore; a grandson she reared, George Belser of Sumter and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza J. Belser will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Saint Matthew Baptist Church with the Rev. M.G. Walters officiating. Burial will be in Bradford cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the home at 254 1/2 E. Red Bay Road, Sumter.

JIM ARDIS
Jim Henry Ardis, 65, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his home.
Born in Pinewood, he was the son of Leatha Avins Barkley and the late Clifton Morris Ardis.
Mr. Ardis was retired from Gold Kist Hatchery. He was previously married
to Martha Joan Tillett.
Surviving are a son, Clifton "Buddy" Ardis of Sumter; three daughters, Jody Bochette, Molly Moritz and Patsy Fontes, all of Sumter; four brothers, John Ardis, Clifton Ardis, Tommy Timmons and Glen Barkley, all of Sumter; three sisters, Dot Blanchard of Hemingway, Vickie Plowden and Gayle Richardson, all of Sumter; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson and the Rev. Tommy Timmons officiating.
Burial will follow in Pinewood cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Evans, J.T. Ardis, Rufus Turner, Billy Ardis, Tommy Ardis, Jeff Avins and Robert Pemberton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.

JUANITA HODGENS NUTT
CLEMSON -- Juanita Hodgens Nutt, 84, wife of George B. Nutt, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Anderson Area Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Milton and Emily Cunningham Hodgens and was predeceased by her first husband, Everette C. Kneece.
She was a graduate of the Johnston, SC High School and the nursing school of the S.C. Baptist Hospital in Columbia. She was a member of the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, the Clemson Garden Club, the Clemson Cotillion Club, the Clemson University Woman's Club and IPTAY. She was a most vivacious, ever entertaining lady. She will be sorely missed by both family and her many friends.
Survivors are a goddaughter: Kathleen K. Brunson (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant; stepsons George (Barbara) of West Chester, Pa., John (Patsy) of Little Mountain, Richard (Mary Ann) of Demorest, Ga., and Gerald (Cathy) of Easley; brother Edward H. Hodgens (Elsie) of Greenville; sisters Eva H. Andrews of Oak Ridge, Tenn., June H. Chaplin of Westford, Mass.; sister-in-law Irene Kneece of Rock Hill; and three nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Lt. Henry M. Hodgens Jr.
Services will be held at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Clemson, at 11 a.m. Tuesday with burial to follow at 4 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 N. Guignard Drive, Sumter. Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central Clemson Commons, Central, is assisting the family with arrangements.
HARRY LEE BROWN Sr.
MANNING -- Harry Lee Brown Sr., 55, died Aug. 1, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.
Born April 17, 1949, in Manning, he was a son of the late Victor Brown and Mattie Mae Montgomery Brown.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mary B. and Fred Mallett, 1983 Bloomville Road, Manning.

Mary C. Sieber, 60, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

BISHOPVILLE -- Mr. Eddie Lee Hickman of Atlanta died July 31, 2004, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
He was born in Lee County.

EARLINE H. WILSON
MANNING -- Earline Hilton Wilson, 85, wife of Eugene Wilson, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence.
Born July 10, 1919, in the Bloomville section of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late August Hilton and Carrie Mathis Hilton. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Calvary FBH Church and she later joined Mt. Carmel United Freewill Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as mother of the church, on the Missionary Society and Deaconess Board.
Survivors besides her husband, Eugene Wilson of the home, include one son, Timothy (Lillie Emma) Wilson of Manning; one grandson reared in the home, Lee Ernest Wilson of Manning; one daughter, Ruth Ella Richburg of Baltimore; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Beatha of Manning, Rosa Lee Wilson of Baltimore and Phillistine Nelson of Sumter; two sisters, Annie Liza Hilton and Clara Peterson, both of Manning; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Henry Wilson; three brothers, Percy, Issac and Johnnie Hilton; and four grandchildren.
The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Calvary FBH Church, West Boyce Street, Manning, with the Rev. Dennis Jeffcoat, pastor, and Elder James McFarlin officiating, assisting Elder M.R. Singletary, Elder K.L. Gibson, the Rev. Michael Abraham, evangelist Rhonda Nelson, and evangelist Ella Mae Eaddy.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Floral bearers will be nieces.
Burial will be at Fellowship Baptist Church, West Huggins Street, Manning.

WEDGEFIELD -- Beverly Ann Stewart, 52, wife of Wilbert Stewart, died Aug. 3, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 3, 1951, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Dorothy Prince DuPont and the late Norman DuPont.

ELLA MAE M. BROWN
NEW ZION -- Ella Mae McKenzie Brown, 90, widow of Jaris Brown, died Aug. 3, 2004, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.
Born May 2, 1914, in the New Zion section of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Ezekiel McKenzie and Olivia Rose McKenzie.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lettie and Johnny McDowell, 1185 527 Subdivision Road, New Zion.

GLADYS C. DEW
Gladys Corrine Dew, 91, died Thursday, July 29, 2004.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Dew and the late Sarah Amanda Kilpatrick Dew.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Larry Dew; her sister, Amanda Louise Dew Buchanan; and brother-in-law, Charles E. Buchanan.
She was a homemaker and caretaker for several family members, all residing in Wedgefield.
Survivors include two nieces, Mary D. Johnson of Smiths Station, Ala., and Amanda Dew Manning of Charleston; two great-nephews, R. Bryan Johnson of Houston and Christopher M. Johnson of Augusta, Ga. She also has three great-great-nieces, Lauren and Cameron Johnson of Houston, and Sara Elizabeth Johnson of Augusta.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Wedgefield Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Ashby Dick officiating.

WILLIAM P. MILLIGAN
MANNING -- The Rev. William Prestley Milligan, 91, of Manning, died on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in Greenville.
Born Dec. 13, 1912, in Northern Ireland, he immigrated with his family to the United States in July of 1955.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ivy Logan Milligan; a daughter, Phyllis Milligan; and a son, William Prestley Milligan Jr. The Rev. and Mrs. Milligan had been married
for 67 years.
Rev. Milligan served as a minister with the South Carolina conference of The United Methodist Church. He served charges in Olar, Greenwood, Graniteville, Manning and Andrews before making Manning his retirement home.
Surviving are two sons, William Lloyd Milligan of Isle of Palms and David Howard Milligan of Greenville; a brother, Richard Milligan of Northern Ireland; a sister, Dora Morrison of Northern Ireland; four grandchildren, Kerry Lynn Welti of Columbia, Michael David Milligan of Columbia, Erin Milligan Harmon of Mount Pleasant and William Lloyd Milligan II of Isle of Palms; a daughter-in-law, Laura Morris Milligan of Greenville; and nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Manning United Methodist Church. The Revs. Jerry Watson and Debra Quilling will officiate. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning.
