WEST COLUMBIA -- Pearl Lanham Adams, 82, widow of Mr. Mark Samuel Adams, died Aug. 2, 2004, at 2309 Bob White Lane, West Columbia.

She was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Edgefield.

The family will receive friends at 2309 Bob White Lane, West Columbia, and 280 Glover St., Edgefield.

Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home of Manning is in charge of services.

MARY C. SIEBER

Mary C. Sieber, 60, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Albany, Ky., she was a daughter of Georgia Brown Stockton and the late Hunley O. Stockton. She was formerly married to the late Mike Sieber.

She was employed by Verizon Telephone and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors besides her mother of Freeport, Ill., include two sons, John Sieber of Deluth, Ga., and Nick Sieber of Sumter; four sisters, Judy Kaney and her husband, Jim, of Forreston, Ill., Joyce Mordick and her husband, Kenneth "Pete" of Freeport, Terry Martin of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Nancy Franz of Freeport.; a brother, Steven Stockton and his wife, Deborah, of Byron, Ill.; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Sieber; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with Deacon Lawrence Corum officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, c/o South Carolina Regional Office, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, SC 29204.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.

HARRY LEE BROWN Sr.

MANNING -- Harry Lee Brown Sr., 55, died Aug. 1, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter.

Born April 17, 1949, in Manning, he was a son of the late Victor Brown Sr. and Mattie Mae Montgomery Brown. He received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County and attended Sumter Area Technical College. He joined Trinity as a young adult. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines. While in the Marines, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He was employed by Verizon Communication for 26 years.

Survivors include two sons, Varech H. (Dinita) Brown of Bowman and Harry Lee (Angie) Brown Jr. of Dahlgren, Va.; one daughter, Florinda (Shawn) Dukes of Manning; two brothers, Victor (Yvonne) Brown Jr. of Miami and Stanly (Cynthia) Brown of Manning; two sisters, Mary (Fred) Mallett of Manning and Rosa Montgomery of Silver Springs, Md.; and two grandchildren.

The remains will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Trinity AME Church, 39 W. Rigby St., Manning, with the Rev. Dr. Bennie Colclough officiating, the Rev. Delores Gerow presiding, assisting Minister Eddie Weldon and Michael Aiken.

Pallbearers will be Verizon employees.

Floral bearers will be friends of the family.

Burial will be in Manning cemetery, Manning.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mary B. and Fred Mallett, 1983 Bloomville Road, Manning.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning is in charge of arrangements.

JACK D. HOWLE Sr.

Jack Delbert Howle Sr., 84, husband of Jewel Martin Howle, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Andrews, he was a son of the late Vernon Wilcox Howle and the late Estelle Haselten Howle. Mr. Howle was a member of Andrews Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Wofford College and was a U.S. Army Infantry World War II veteran. He was former owner and operator of the Piggly Wiggly store in Andrews and was a former member of the Georgetown County School Board.

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Jack Delbert Howle Jr. and wife, Mary, of Sumter and Brian Martin Howle of Pawleys Island; a daughter, Claudia Estelle Medori and husband, Eugene, of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Gwen Howle Watson of Pawleys Island; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Wilcox Howle Jr. and Harry Haselten Howle.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Andrews cemetery with the Rev. Paul Sapp officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of his son.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Andrews.

CAMILLA T. McFADDEN

SUMMERTON -- Dyson's Home for Funerals and Macedonia Fire Baptist Holiness Church, Silver, along with the Rev. Annie L. Riley, pastor, announce funeral services for evangelist Camilla "Minnie" Tindal McFadden will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, Summerton. The Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson, pastor, will officiate with Presiding Elder Keith Smith Sr., eulogist, assisted by the Revs. Annie L. Riley and Joseph Postell. Final resting will be in the Macedonia FBH Church cemetery, Silver.

Evangelist Camilla "Minnie" Tindal McFadden, age 98, of Silver, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Windsor Manor Nursing Home, Silver.

Born in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Charles Monroe Tindal and Bertha Knight Tindal. She was the widow of Heyward McFadden. She was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County. She accepted Christ as a youth and became a member of Friendship AME Church, Silver, where she served faithfully in many capacities. In 1945, she moved her membership to Macedonia FBH Church, Silver. In 1952, she was called into the ministry and served as a leader, teacher, trustee, choir member and associate pastor of Macedonia FBH Church, until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

She leaves to grow from her memories two daughters, Elizabeth "Bess" M. Billie and Ruth M. Davis, both of Silver; one son, William R. (Elizabeth) McFadden of Sumter; one additional daughter, Edith (Leroy) Haigler of Philadelphia; and one brother, Fred Tindal of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Helen T. Robinson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mary Robinson of Sumter; 37 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; six foster grandchildren; 24 foster great-grandchildren; 42 foster great-great-grandchildren; other close relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Ruth M. Davis, 6131 Summerton Highway, Silver community, Manning.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dyson's Home for Funerals of Summerton.

KEVILIN WELLS

SUMMERTON -- Kevilin "Keith" Wells, 20, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in Summerton.

Born in Sumter County, he was a son of Margaret Fuller and Kevin Wells.

The family will receive friends at the home of his grandparents, Annie Mae and Sammy "Sam" Wells, 1163 Saluda St., Davis Crossroad community, Summerton, and at the home of his aunt, Mae Dell Gibson Lawson, 1163A Saluda St., Summerton.

Services will be announced by Summerton Funeral Service of Summerton.

CHRISTINE L. JUNKINS

Christine Lockamy Junkins, 75, widow of Dorsey G. Junkins Sr., died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the Providence Hospital in Columbia.

Born in Nashe County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Seymore Lockamy and the late Janie Hunt Lockamy. Mrs. Junkins was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class. She was a retired real estate agent with Century 21 Walton Agency and was a past member of Sumter Board of Realtors.

Surviving are a son, Dorsey Gail Junkins Jr. and wife, Lynda, of Sumter; two sisters, Sadie West of Fayetteville, N.C., and Evelyn LaPointe of Tacoma, Wash.; a brother, Oliver Lockamy of Holly Springs, N.C.; a grandson, Robert G. Junkins and wife, Cristi, of Sumter; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Amber Junkins of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Dan Lockamy, Thurman Lockamy and Grover Lockamy; and one sister, Estel Grace Lockamy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Junkins, Harold Rogers, Herman Lockamy, Ralph Turner, Johnny Walton and Ray Baker.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 226 W. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.

ROBERTHA H. SAMUEL

ALCOLU -- Robertha "Bertha" Harrison Samuel, 67, widow of David Samuel, died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Conn.

Born Aug. 25, 1936, in the Alcolu section of Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Georgianna Durant Harrison. She received her education at Pleasant Grove School in Alcolu. She attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid cook and cared for children.

Survivors include three sons, Rickie Samuel, Paul Epps and George H. Samuel, all of Alcolu; three grands reared as her own, Robert Samuel, Michellda Samuel and Antionette Samuel, all of Alcolu; five daughters, Mickie J. Samuel and Melissa T. Samuel, both of Alcolu, Brenda D. Samuel and Gloria D. Samuel, both of Norwalk, Conn., and Debbie (Olatunbosun) Williams of New York City; six brothers, Henry Harrison Jr. of Norwalk, Johnny Lee (Geneva) Burgess, Louis (Lillie) Ramsey, Joe Ramsey, Robert Lee Ramsey, all of Alcolu, and Ernest (Emma) Ramsey of Bridgeport, Conn.; three sisters, Ruthie Mae Nelson and Mary (Henry) Nelson of Alcolu, and Annie B. (Tommy) Felder of Bridgeport; 33 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony Isaac, Henry Harrison Jr. and Johnny Lee Burges.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, U.S. 301 North, Alcolu, with the Rev. Dr. Cokley Richburg officiating, evangelist Elizabeth Richburg presiding, assisting the Rev. O'Donald Dingle and the Rev. Roosevelt McFadden.

Burial will be in Harmony Presbyterian Church cemetery, Alcolu.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 1448 Lockwood Circle, Alcolu.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning is in charge of arrangements.

GERTIE MAE PINKNEY

Mrs. Gertie Mae Pinkney, of 51 L St., passed away on Aug. 3, 2004, in Florence.

The family is receiving visitors at the home.

Funeral plans are incomplete and will be announced by Community Funeral Home of Sumter.

HOWARD LEE SPANN

Mr. Howard Lee Spann passed on July 30, 2004, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

The son of Mrs. Queen E. Grady and the late Mr. Henry W. Spann Sr., he was born July 17, 1955, in Sumter. He attended Sumter High School and later mastered the profession of brick masonry as well as other creative tasks.

Survivors include his mother, Queen E. Grady of Sumter; two brothers, Allen Spann and his wife, Gwen, and Billy Spann of Sumter; three sisters, Gale Spann Brown and her husband, Lee, of Estel, Gwendolyn Spann Drake and her husband, Hodge, of Ridgeland and Marie Grady of Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Community Funeral Home, 353 Manning Ave., with the Rev. Louis Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of his mother, Mrs. Queen Grady, 2325 Four Bridge Road, Sumter.

Community Funeral Home of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.
