Daisy grew up in a loving home where prayer was the daily diet and a home of great devotion where the word of God was taught. Daisy gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a committed saint of God. The family tradition, the power of prayer and constant dedication to the Lord provided guidance and direction. Daisy sought, along with her family, the best that God provides for his children.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. She graduated from high school and worked hard all her life. She was a member of Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, Summerton, South Carolina.

She was a part of the great migration, moving from the south to the north for better opportunites. She took the skills and abilities that God gave her and made excellent use of those resources and turned them into opportunities. She set goals and standards, not only for herself, but she was a role model for others that could follow the patterns she established. She exhibited characteristics like the woman in Proverbs 31:10-31, a virtuous woman. She provided for her household. Her husband and children rise up, even in these moments, and call her blessed.

Daisy exhibited faith and skill. She was an active and an ardent member of the church.Like the women in the Bible, Acts 16: 13-15, Daisy too, was a woman of leadership and sponsorship; a woman, who was a builder for the Lord and a woman of prayer. As a worshipper, she helpled to establish a church center in the Bronx. This Bronx Assembly provided growth and inspiration for many! Like Lydia, who was a woman of various means, she was judged to be faithful by the Apostle Paul. She was not only committed to the care and love for her family and home, but also the care and outreach of the church. Her unselfish examples, provided much needed evangelism and a source of promoting the gospel and church growth.

Daisy migrated back to her roots and landmark in South Carolina. She brought encouragement and strength back to her place of birth.

Smythe and Emma (Ezekiel) Hill, both of Summerton, South Carolina, a brother, Hampton Ragin of Great Neck, New York; a God-Daughter, Lavella Hill of Beaufort, GA; a sister-in-law, Lena Ragin of Rimini, SC and a host of other close relatives and friends.
