KENNARD, Texas -- Pam Hardin, 52, of Kennard, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009, at her residence.
She was born March 24, 1956, in South Houston, Texas, and had lived in Kennard since 1995. She was currently employed at the Crockett State School, where she worked as a Clerk IV.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Hardin of Kennard; children, Shane Hardin of Kennard and Shannon Grabein of Austin; mother, Willie Lee Reynolds of Pasadena; sister, Rebecca Clinger and husband, George, of Deer Park; niece, Katie Clinger; and nephew, Kris Clinger.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Marin Edward Grabein Jr.; and brothers, Ronald Grabein and Michael Grabein
Funeral services for Pam Hardin will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Our Family cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

THURMOND MURPHY
Funeral services for Thurmond Murphy will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Church in the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Lynchburg, with Bishop Joe C. Tisdale officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayesville cemetery.
Thurmond died on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 16, 1951, in Lee County, he was a son of Estell Hudson Murphy and the late Logan L. Murphy. He attended the public schools of Lee County and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Elliott.
He is survived by his mother of the home; a daughter, Shiquentta; two sons, Anthony and Corey; a daughter-in-law, Monica; two sisters, Ida McDowell Smalls and Ethel Murphy; four brothers, Jason, Johnnie, Clinzo and Raymond; six grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his mother, 28 Log Road, Lynchburg.

Earnese Williams Bolden, 79, widow of the Rev. Elijah Bolden Sr., died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at her home, 1152 Hezekiah Road, Eastover.
Born Oct. 7, 1929, in Bamberg, she was a daughter of James and Bessie Rickenbacker Williams.

ETHEL D. JACKSON
Ethel Davis Jackson, 75, widow of James Henry Jackson Sr., died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Sumter County, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ingram Davis. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church, where she served on various ministries. "Ess, " as she was affectionately called, was a kind, loving and a true child of God.
Her memory will be cherished by two daughters, Mary (Willie) Session and Minnie (Calvin) Brisbone; six sons, Ervin (Queen) Jackson, Frank Jackson, Samuel Jackson, David Jackson, Josiah (Karita) Jackson and Timothy (Barbara) Jackson, all of Sumter; two sisters, Mary Davis of New Jersey and Sallie Ann Byng of Philadelphia; a brother, the Rev. Harry (Ella) Davis Sr. of Philadelphia; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lee Jackson of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Jackson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Benjamin (Annette) Jackson of Swainsboro, Ga.; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three aunts; an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Jackson; two sons, Henry and Daniel Jackson; two sisters, Rebecca Lavine and Vernice Davis; four brothers, Isaac, Jacob, William and Frank Davis; and a granddaughter, Adriane Blanding.
Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mulberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Marie Harvin, pastor of Reeseville AME Church, eulogist, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Willie Dennis, the Rev. Eugene Winn and the Rev. Harry Davis Sr. Interment will follow in Mulberry cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Thursday for viewing until the hour of service.

Beverly Ann Carter Coleman, 72, wife of Jesse Isiah Coleman, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Weston Carter and Mamie Elise Griffin Carter. Mrs. Coleman was a member of Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene and was a retired clerk with the Sumter County Family Court.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two daughters, Gaye Weaver and husband, Rad, of Sumter and Betsy Phillips and husband, Jeff, of Lynchburg; four brothers, J.W. Carter Jr., Herman Carter and Cecil Carter, all of Manning, and Russell Carter of Tennessee; a sister, Linda C. Craft of Manning; and six grandchildren, Tori Weaver, Ethan Weaver, Cole Phillips, Cody Phillips, Cassidy Phillips and Cheyanne Phillips.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Renee Coleman; and two sisters, Gertrude Rowe and Barbara Roberson.

EMANUAL L. BLANDING
Emanual Lorenzo Blanding, 23, departed this earthly life on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Carthage Area Hospital, Champion, N.Y.
Born Feb. 27, 1986, in Sumter County, he was a son of Matthew Blanding Sr. and Tonya Mack-Canty. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a 2004 graduate of Crestwood High School. He was affiliated with Grant Hill Baptist Church, Rembert. Emanual, "Man, " as he was affectionately known, joined the U.S. Army as a motor transport operator (truck driver). He served 15 months in Iraq. He was known for his love for singing and his great sense of humor. He was a loving person, always putting others first. He was a lover of the outdoors, and enjoyed visiting family and friends.

FRANCIS BROGDON SR.
Francis Richardson "Ricky" Brogdon Sr., 59, died Saturday March 28, 2009.
Born in Conway he was a son of Cecil Young Brogdon and the late Judson Pringle Brogdon Sr.
Mr. Brogdon was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter and employed by CNA Construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his mother of Sumter; a son, Francis R. "Richie" Brogdon Jr. of Sumter; a daughter, Ashley B. Welch (Lance) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Hunter Richardson Brogdon, Cayden Edward Brogdon and Ansley Reagan Welch; one brother, Judson P. Brogdon Jr. of Sumter; two sisters, Lee Brogdon Wise and Lynn Brogdon, both of Sumter; two aunts, Hannah Seymour and Peggy Young, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Concord Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Bauknight officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
