Abraham 'Tyger' Green -- Cordova

The funeral for Abraham Green, 25, of 180 Guiomar Road, Cordova, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Glover's Funeral Home in Orangeburg, with Pastor Raymond Gathers officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Mr. Green died Monday, Jan. 27, at The Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 29, 1977, in Columbia, the son of Abraham Milligan III, and Ms. Avis McGill. He attended the public schools of Calhoun and Orangeburg counties. His adoptive mother, Mrs. Zella Milligan, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his parents, Abraham Milligan III, and Avis McGill, adoptive mother, Ms. Doretha Brown of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; his fiancé, Kimberly Mack of Orangeburg; a daughter, Abriana Zikalah Green of Orangeburg; brothers, Walter Green of Columbia, Joaquin Milligan and Zelton Milligan, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Gary Brown, LaShauntrel Brown and Tion Brown, all of Orangeburg, Kishon Govan and Patrick Govan, both of Cordova; sisters, Irene (Stacy) Shannon of St. Matthews, Willadean Green of Orangeburg; two grandfathers, Abraham Milligan Jr., of St. Matthews, Leroy Jenkins of Orangeburg; two godchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call at the residence of his aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Brown, 906 Harper St., Orangeburg, and at Glover's Funeral Home.

Matthew Edmond Jr. -- Newark, N.J.

Matthew Edmond Jr., 57, of Newark, N.J., formerly of Swansea, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at St. James Hospital, Newark, N.J.

Funeral plans will be announced by W. B. Crumel Funeral Home of North.

Friends may call at the residence of his mother, Mrs. Nettie Mack of 413 Swansea Heights Avenue, Swansea, and at the funeral home.

Mrs. Willidean Gordon -- Corona, N.Y.

Funeral services for Mrs. Willidean Gordon, 78, of 31-46th 1003 Street, Corona, N.Y., will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Sprinkle Avenue with the Rev. Hannibal officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gordon died Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Corona, N.Y., after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 17, 1924, in South Carolina, a daughter of the late Willie and Annie Dean Forrest. She attended the public schools of Orangeburg. She was married to the late Milton C. Gordon Sr. Mrs. Gordon joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to New York, she joined Mocent Horeb Baptist Church of Queens, N.Y. One son, Herman Lee Gordon preceded her in death.

Survivors include three children, Milton Gordon Jr., Myrtle Gordon and Margaret Gordon Fields, all of New York, N.Y.; one foster child, Clyde Waymer of Orangeburg; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at the residence of her granddaughter, Theresa Elmore, 1009 Rivers Street, Orangeburg, and at Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Melissa Diane McDuffie -- Barnwell

Melissa Diane McDuffie, 30, of Barnwell died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Union United Methodist Church in Kline with the Rev. Joseph Abram Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the Class of 1990.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Lebby Funeral Home of Barnwell.

Charles 'Billy' William Whetstone Sr. -- St. Matthews

Charles "Billy" William Whetstone Sr., 84, of 724 Belleville Road, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Shady Grove United Methodist church with the Rev. Robin Griffeth officiating.

Mr. Whetstone was born in St. Matthews, a son of the late Charles Wesley Whetstone and Ellen Haigler Whetstone. He was retired form C. F. Evans & Company, a veteran of World War II having served in the Air Force, and was a graduate of Wofford College. He was a life long member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America / Indian Waters Council and had received the Silver Beaver Award.

Survivors include his wife, Violet McDowell Whetstone of the home; son, Charles W. Whetstone Jr. of St. Matthews; daughters, Betsy Whetstone (David) Elliott of St. Matthews and Joyce Whetstone (Chuck) Cleveland of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Kate Elizabeth Whetstone of Sewanee, Tenn., C. William Whetstone III of St. Matthews, Elizabeth Ellen Elliott of Clemson, and Margaret Jane Elliott of St. Matthews; brother, W. H. Whetstone of St. Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Dukes-HArley Funeral Home of Orangeburg. At other times, friends may call at the residence or the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of TRMC, PO Box 2352, Orangeburg, SC 29116, and to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, PO Box 337, Cameron, SC 29030.

Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Chester Dicks Jr. -- Williston

Mr. Chester Dicks Jr. entered into rest June 4, 2003, at the Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Canaan Fair C.M.E. Church, Williston. Burial will be in the Fair Branch Church cemetery, Williston.

He was a member of the Canaan Fair C.M.E. Church where he served as chairman of the steward board and the church treasurer. He was a teacher of automobile body and paint repair at Denmark Technical College, Denmark. He was owner of Dicks Paint & Body Repair Shop, Blackville.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Newton Dicks of the home; one daughter, Adrienne Victoria Dicks, of Columbia; three sons, Chester Allen Dicks, of Aiken, Patrick Adams Dicks of the home, Tracey Hallinguest of Birmingham, Ala.; his mother, Mrs. Madella Dicks of Williston; four sisters, Bertha D. (Ronald) Corley of Williston, Willie Eva (Freddie) Bush, Barnwell, Carrie (Albert) Devine, North Augusta, Lillian McCormick, Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Clarence Dicks, Williston, Robert (Diane) Dicks, Atlanta, and Aaron (Elizabeth) Dicks, Williston; four grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends and family may call at the residence, 1830 Blacks Drive or the Simmons Funeral Home of Williston, Inc.

Willard Niva Judy -- Branchville

Mr. Willard Niva Judy, 85, of 6490 Freedom Road, Branchville, died Friday, June 6, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 8, at the Branchville Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Porter and the Rev. Dallas Redding officiating. Burial will be in the Ott cemetery in Branchville.

The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be deacons, and honorary pallbearers will be the Andrew Sunday School Class.

Mr. Judy was born in Bowman, a son of the late William Rauly Judy and Vergie Cook Sheider. He was a member of Branchville Baptist Church and attended Andrew Sunday School Class. He was retired from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 687 in Charleston, and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was predeceased by two brothers, Elbert Keith Judy of Summerville and William Azell Judy of Charleston; one infant sister, Miss Janette Judy, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtie Marie Williams of California.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Whilimena Metts Judy of Branchville; one son, Rauly Judy of Aiken; three sisters, Mrs. Harriett Irick of Rowesville, Mrs. Phyllis Carter of Walterboro, and Mrs. Gayle Dunning of Rowesville; two brothers, Roger Lauern Judy of Cottageville, and Calvin A. Judy of Columbia; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Ott Funeral Home in Branchville.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Orangeburg.

Mrs. Martha Sanders -- Orangeburg

Mrs. Martha Sanders, 82, of Edisto Convalescent Center, formerly of 595 Felder St., Orangeburg, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, June 8, at Bull Swamp Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. J. Glover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Sanders, a daughter of the late Robert Brown and Essie Robinson Brown, was born on Nov. 26, 1920, in Orangeburg County. She was a member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Orangeburg Regional Hospital in Orangeburg.

She was married to the late George Sanders Sr., who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters; Marie Sanders Keitt (Leroy Sr.), Georgia Sanders Thomas (Nathaniel), both of Orangeburg, and Shirley Sanders Romeo (Ernest Sr.) of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, George Sanders Jr. (Joann), Elijah Sanders Sr. (Nancy), both of Orangeburg, and Willie Sanders (Vicky) of Columbia; one sister, Nellie Brown Baxter of Orangeburg; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives.

Friends may call at the residence and at Glover's Funeral Home.

Daniel Cain Williamson Sr. -- Orangeburg

The funeral for Daniel Cain Williamson Sr., 65, of 1355 Wingate NE, Orangeburg, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg. Burial will be Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Williamson died Wednesday.

He was a member of the Carolina Drifting Sams Club.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 205, Columbia SC 29204.

Richard Wright -- Eutawville

Mr. Richard Wright, 85 of 124 Greystone Circle, Eutawville, died June 6, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by Eutawville Community Funeral Home Inc.

Alfred 'Minnow' Gilliard--Vance

The funeral for Alfred "Minnow" Gilliard, 49, of 722 Vance Road, Vance, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Vance, with the Rev. Roy Lee Durant officiating. Burial will be in Felder cemetery, Vance.

Mr. Gilliard died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.

Mr. Alfred Gilliard, the youngest son of William "Bill" Gilliard Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Mae Gilliard, was born Dec. 9, 1953.

He will be deeply missed and memories will be cherished by a son, Montague Brown of Santee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William (Mattie) Gilliard Sr. of Vance; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call at the home of his parents or at the funeral home.

Eutawville Community Funeral Home of Eutawville is in charge of arrangements.

David Carter -- Orangeburg

David Carter, 48, of 436 St. Paul Apartments, Orangeburg, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, after a brief illness.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence of his brother, Ernest Carter, 105 Retreat Lane, Orangeburg.

Mrs. Lottie M. Williams -- Rowesville

The funeral for Mrs. Lottie Mae Stephens Williams, 64, of 224 Church St., Rowesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at St. Stephen Baptist Church, Branchville, with Junior Bishop Willie John Williams officiating. Burial will be in Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Polite, Cecil Byrd, Douglas Jones, Fletcher Aiken, Derry Aiken and Harley Aiken.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, July 21, at Providence Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Colleton County, a daughter of Mrs. Edith Adams Stephens and the late York Stephens. At an early age, she joined Deep Creek Baptist Church in Ruffin, later she joined Jerusalem Holiness Church. She was employed at Fashion Fabrics.

Four siblings preceded her in death, Enoch, Roy, Clara Stephens and Mamie Aiken.

Survivors include her husband, Willie John Williams of the home; four children, LaWanda (Douglas) Jones of Manassas, Va., Jamerrail (Carol) Williams of Branchville, Mark (Angela) Williams of Orangeburg and Joy Williams of Columbia; four step-children, Linda (Julius) Harrison of Branchville, Alberta Williams of Palmetto, Fla., Willie J. Glover of Charlotte, N.C. and Willie Stokes of Huntsville, Ala.; a special daughter, Hope Daniels of Charlotte, N.C.; two god sons; 19 grandchildren; one great grandchild; her mother, Edith Stephens of Ruffin; two sisters, Pauline (Randolph) Sanders of Ruffin and Linda (Bernard) Henderson of Yemassee; one brother, Samuel Stephens of Walterboro; eight sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; one aunt; one uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
