Mary Ellen Stroud Moseley, 83

KERSHAW - Mary Ellen Stroud Moseley, 83, died Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lela Robinson Stroud. She was married to the late Ernest B. Moseley Sr.

Survivors include her children, Veronica Parker, Judy Payne and her husband, Douglas, Rita Williams and her husband, Steve, Sherry Deese and Jane Adams and her husband, Hughie, all of Kershaw, Faye Barfield and Ernest "Ernie" Moseley Jr. and his wife, Karen, all of Cassatt, and Diane Owens and her husband, Kenny, of Westville; three sisters; Cora Lee S. Eubanks of Stanley, N.C., Louise Sullivan and Mary Magdalene Hunter, both of Kershaw; three brothers; Paul Stroud and James Edward "Tom" Stroud, both of Lake Wateree, and Floyd Stroud of Cassatt; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, Richard Williams, Candi Payne Russell, Alicia Watford and Courtney Foster; four sisters; Annie Bell Garris, Grace S. Phillips, Nannie S. Waters and Barbara Ann S. Faulkenberry; and four brothers, Gilbert Stroud, Willie "Bill" Stroud, Fred Stroud and Thomas Stroud.

Services were held Monday at Oakridge Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to A. Sam Karesh Long Term Care, P.O. Box 7003, Camden, SC 29020; or Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, Mid-State Chapter of South Carolina, P.O. Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202.

Lucy Mae Bryant Robertson, 52

Lucy Mae Bryant Robertson, 52, died Sunday, April 23, 2006.

Born Feb. 3, 1954, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Kermit F. and Christine Williams Bryant. She was formerly married to Eric Robertson. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was formerly an associate judge for the city of Lancaster.

Survivors include three daughters, Erica June Robertson, Lucy Katherine "Kati" Robertson and Betty "Rebecca" Robertson, all of Lancaster; three sisters, Gay Ghent and Diann Gaskin, both of Lancaster, and Nancy Winters of Rock Hill.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shiloh ARP Church, conducted by the Revs. David Lauten, Wayne Dickson and Jim Spencer, with burial in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 1085 West Shore Drive.

Larry 'Buster' Thompson, 59

JEFFERSON - Larry "Buster" Thompson, 59, died Monday, April 24, 2006.

Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Henry and Gladys Faile Thompson. He was married to Betty Brown Thompson. He was an auto mechanic, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Donna Thompson Moree and her husband, Steven, of Jefferson; a grandson, Sheldon Moree; two brothers, Dennis Thompson of Kershaw and Henry Thompson Jr. of Milton, Ky.; and three sisters, Margaret Simpson and Peggy Melton, both of Jefferson, and Glenn Johnson of Lancaster.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home in Chesterfield.

Steven 'Steve' Lloyd Yearwood, 39

LEXINGTON - Steven "Steve" Lloyd Yearwood, 39, died Friday, April 21, 2006.

Born June 21, 1966, in Chester County, he was the son of Judy Yearwood Cagle and the stepson of Allen Cagle. He was married to Elaine Broome Yearwood. He was a resident of Great Falls for many years before moving to Lexington. He was a wood craftsman and employee of the M. Craig Co. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather of Lexington; two daughters, Kirstie Yearwood of the home and Kara McCormick of Great Falls; two sons, Christopher Yearwood and Justin Yearwood, both of Great Falls; his maternal grandmother, Mary Yearwood Geiger and her husband, J.D., of Fort Lawn; two sisters, Melissa Yearwood and Tammy Delph, both of Lexington; two stepsisters, Lorie Lucas and Zana Putnam, both of Great Falls; and a granddaughter, Camille "Grace" McCormick.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristie Yearwood; and a sister, Deanna Anne Smith.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Victory Worship Center in Lancaster, conducted by the Revs. Eddie Usher and Dexter Faile.

Memorial may be made to the Steven Yearwood Memorial Fund, 108 Thackery Lane, Lexington, SC 29073.

Myrtle Knight Wallace, 91

WAXHAW – Myrtle Knight Wallace, 91, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. She was born in Union County on June 3, 1919, daughter of the late W.B. and Maggie Sistar Knight. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Ray Wallace; and a daughter, Aleatha Marie Wallace.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2010, in Unity ARP Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to services.

Survivors include her children, Dorothy McWhorter (Franklin), Sara Whitley Logan, Bobby Wallace (Martha), Lynda Hinson (Joe), Ronnie Wallace (Susie) and Gail Huey (Phil); grandchildren, Rodney Brewington, Kimberly Brown, Roger McWhorter, Gregory McWhorter, Frank Whitley, Mark Whitley, Robin Cox, Melissa Guin, Monica Teague, Joseph Hinson, Mike Hinson, Terry Hinson, Debbie Phillips, Danny Hinson, Anthony Wallace, Brent Wallace and Ray Huey; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity ARP Church Building Fund, 3494 Unity Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Ronella D. “Sue” Thomas, 50

Mrs. Ronella D. “Sue” Thomas, 50, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 2, 1960, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Clarence James Bowers and the late Marilyn Helms Bowers. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Lancaster Church of God and also attended the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. She was a retired bus driver with the Lancaster County School System. Sue loved going on cruises and also taking trips to the mountains and the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip L. Thomas; two sons, Chris Thomas and his companion, Nichole Johnson, of Lancaster, and Casey Thomas and his wife Brittany, also of Lancaster; a brother, Michael Bowers of Lancaster; and two grandsons, Christopher Thomas Jr. and Zane Brigman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the graveside in Union Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Pageland with the Rev. Bennie Stinson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2010, at their residence, 401 Doster Road, Lancaster.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 339 Main Street, Camden, SC 29020 in memory of Mrs. Thomas.

Cleola Frasier McIlwain, 81, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Frazier and Lula Funderburk Frasier. She was married to Johnny McIlwain.

Survivors include her husband of Lancaster; three daughters, Margaret L. Leverette, Maxine Stradford of Lancaster, Johnnie Mae Kellogg of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, the Rev. Dr. Eddie McIlwain, Ronald McIlwain, Jonathan McIlwain of Lancaster; a brother, Claude Frasier of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren

Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Zion Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, conducted by Revs. Willie J. Williams and Dr. Eddie McIlwain, with burial in Zion Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.

Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 5, 2010 at Crawford Funeral Home.

Robert Grady McGuirt, 91

Robert Grady McGuirt, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010.

He was the son of the late Will McGuirt and Maggie Gamble McGuirt.

Survivors include two sons, Philip McGuirt and Jim McGuirt, both of Lancaster; a daughter, Diane Tarlton of Lancaster; two sisters, Nora Gainer and Helen Hunter both of Lancaster; and one grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 3, at Lancaster Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chris Tipton, with burial with military honors in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Harold Wayne Walters, 48

MONROE – Harold Wayne Walters, 48, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010. He was born in Union County, N.C., on Jan. 9, 1962. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Griffin Walters. Wayne was employed by Yale Norton Door Controls and Walmart.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Roanoke Baptist Church, Officiated by Rev. Kenny Pittman.

Wayne is survived by his parents Charles Harold and Euleta Presson Walters of Lancaster; a brother, Dale Walters of Lancaster; two daughters, April Wilson Ansley and husband, Andrew, of Waxhaw, and Ashley Wilson Brinn and husband, Hugh, of Monroe; a grandchild Luke Brinn; and his brother-in-law, Randy Griffin and wife Danette of Monroe.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 1, 2010, at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112.

Roger Eugene Thomas II, 28

Roger Eugene Thomas II, 28, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010.

He was born Sept. 16, 1982 in Lancaster, a son of Roger Eugene Thomas and Teresa Lynne Humphries. Mr. Thomas was a plumber.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Thomas will be held at a later date.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his father, Roger Eugene Thomas of Lancaster; his mother, Teresa Lynne Humphries of Lancaster; two brothers, Daniel Thomas of Lancaster and Derrick Humphries of Jefferson; two sisters, Melissa Thomas and Melanie Thomas, both of Lancaster; and grandparents, Walker Barrett and Ethel Barrett all of Lancaster.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Ruth Myers.

Pauline Roberts Reynolds, 81

Mrs. Pauline Roberts Reynolds, 81, widow of the late John Reynolds, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at Lancaster Convalescent Center.

Born Oct. 5, 1929, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Hartsell Roberts and the late Gertrude Catoe Roberts. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Della Hilton and Frankie Baucom.

Survivors include her son, Rick Reynolds and his wife, Cindy, of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Christopher Reynolds and his fiancé, Heather Hovis, and Steven Reynolds and his wife, Shannon; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne & Ellie-May; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 1, 2010at the graveside, in the Fork Hill Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. David Bump officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that those who wish make donations to the American Cancer Society, 339 Main Street, Camden, SC 29020 in memory of Mrs. Reynolds.
