BETSY ODOM
FLORENCE - A memorial service for Betsy Fore Odom, 48, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Christian Assembly Church, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Ms. Odom died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., daughter of Lee P. Fore and the late Betty Black Fore. She was a registered nurse and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, animals and flowers. She attended Life Spring Church.

Surviving in addition to her father of Latta, are her son, Ryan Whitlow of Florence and daughter, Carrie Odom, also of Florence; two grandchildren, Taylor Lane and Noah Ryan Whitlow; also, her brother, Lee Fore Jr., of Lake City.

Memorials are suggested to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, SC 29506-3444.

STANFORD W. TEDDER
Funeral services for Stanford White Tedder, 90, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Beckham will officiate with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Tedder died Wednesday, Aug. 3. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late William Thomas and Maybelle Andrews Tedder. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the Sonoco Old Timer 's Club, and the Hartsville Masonic Lodge No. 173. He was retired from Sonoco and also retired as a farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Tedder of Hartsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and 'Nina ' Tedder of Hartsville, Johnny and Betty Tedder of Hartsville, James and Bonnie Tedder of Hartsville; sisters, Gladys Beckham of Darlington, Odelia Moulton of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. .

LILLIE V. BEE
Memorial services for Lillie Venson Bee, 58, will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Webb Terrace in Ansonia, Conn., directed by Young & Young Funeral Home of Hartsville.

Mrs. Venson died, Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Morrell Memorial Convalescent Home in Hartsville, after an illness. She was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Leroy and Anna Margaret Mumford Venson. She received her education in the Dumbar High School in Baltimore, Md. After migrating to Connecticut, she was employed as a certified nurse 's aid for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Shawn Venson and Karus Venson; four grandchildren; one sister-in-law; one daughter-in-law; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other close relatives and friends.

JANET W. ATKINSON
Funeral services for Janet Winburn Atkinson, 53, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Gary Colboch and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia cemetery, directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia SC 29210 or Emmanuel Baptist Church, 949 N. Marquis Hwy., Hartsville SC 29550.

Mrs. Atkinson, widow of Melvin Allen Atkinson, died Friday, Aug. 5. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of Nellie Freeman Winburn and the late William Jesse Winburn Sr. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a loving and giving wife, daughter, sister and best friend. Her wish to all was to love one another.

Surviving are her mother of Hartsville; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Richard Putnam of Hartsville; brothers and sister-in-law, William J. “Jake” and Gina Winburn of Hartsville, David Winburn of Clover, John Winburn of Hartsville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John L. “Bud” and Alice Bailey Atkinson of Hartsville; numerous nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Paul Winburn.

DAISY BOCHETTE
LAMAR — Funeral services for Daisy Lee Bochette, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 10, 2005, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, Lamar, with interment following in Lamar cemetery.

Mrs. Bochette died Monday, Aug. 8, at her home in Lamar. She was born in Florence County, daughter of the late Lindo and Georgia Goins Dowdy. She was the widow of John Marion Bochette. She had retired from retail sales with Lamar Factory Outlet and was a member of Christian Pathway Fellowship. Mrs. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Surviving are two sons, Marion Donald (Sandra) Bochette of Eutawville and William “Bill” L. (Priscilla) Bochette of Florence; daughter, Linda Faye (Wayne) Wolfe of Wirtz, Va.; six grand-children and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles L. Dowdy of Florence; sister, Pearly Mae Benton of Pamplico.

Mrs. Bochette was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, two grandchildren and an infant daughter, Helen Barbara Bochette.

Memorials are suggested to McLeod Hospice, 555 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506 or Christian Pathway Fellowship, PO Box 757, Lamar, SC 29069.

ALBERT HAM
Funeral services for Albert Ham, 55, will be held at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 10, 2005, at Harold L. & Dorothy J. Young Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow services at Mt. Rona Baptist Church cemetery, directed by Young & Young Funeral Home.

Mr. Ham died Sunday, Aug. 7, at his residence after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Alberta Williams and Anna Isaac Ham. He received his education in the Darlington County public school system and attended Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Jones Ham of Darlington; two sons, Johnnie M. Ham and Albert B. Ham, both of Darlington; one sister, Hattie Ham Toney of Hartsville; one uncle, Press Jackson of Hartsville; mother-in-law, Maybelle Jones of Darlington; three brothers-in-law, Gina Bluefort of Philadelphia, Pa., Sammie (Gloria) Jones and Claude Jones, both of Darlington; two sisters-in-law, Aileen (Cleveland) Hudson of Darlington, Roberta (Michael) Young of Society Hill; one daughter-in-law, Cathy H. Chestnut; seven grandchildren and a host of other close relatives and friends.

BARBARA CHADWICK
DONALDS — Funeral services for Barbara Gambrell Chadwick, 70, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 10, 2005, at Donalds Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Hill and Harold Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, directed by Pruitt Funeral Home of Honea Path. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Chadwick, widow of L. B. Chadwick Jr., died Sunday, Aug. 7, at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Eula Lee Crawford Gambrell. She was a homemaker and was a member of Donalds Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald Chadwick of Belton and Donnie Chadwick of Hartsville; two daughters, Debbie Bell and Lynn McCall, both of Honea Path; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

LESSIE COLEMAN
SICKLERVILLE, N.J. — Funeral services for Lessie Coleman, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 10, 2005, at the CCU Baptist Church, Sicklerville and Grimes Road, Sicklerville, N.J. Interment will be private, directed by Carl Miller Funeral Home, Camden and Lawnside, N.J.

Mr. Coleman, formerly of Hartsville, Camden, N.J., and Philadelphia, Pa., died Tuesday, Aug. 2. He was the son of the late Calvin and Mary (nee Graham) Coleman, father of the late Mildred D. Coleman. He was baptized at the New Hopewell Baptist Church in Society Hill. Mr. Coleman retired after 37 years from Campbell Soup Co. in Camden, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ketter Coleman; nine children, Lessie Jr., Mary Bryant (Carlos), Patricia Brown (Albert), Margaret Coleman, Joedith Coleman, Janet Hendrix (Milton), Tracey Coleman (Leon), Emery Coleman (Lisa) and Eric Coleman (Patrice); and adopted daughter, Stacey Mills (Vincent); 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sons-in-law, Eric DuBose and Stephon Haddock; nine siblings, Nannie Bishop, Collin Harrell, Henry Coleman, Leroy Benjamin (Mutt), Monroe Benjamin, Maggie Moore (More), Mary Smith, Martha Davis (Albert), and Maudie Zimmerman (Preston); a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

ROBERT E. CLARK
Funeral services for Robert Edward Clark, 63, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 10, 2005, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield.

Mr. Clark died Monday, Aug. 8. He was born in Chestefield County, a son of the late Calvin Clark and Carrie Winburn Clark Kirvin. He was a former member of the S. C. National Guard and a retired truck driver with Estes Trucking. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lawson Clark; a granddaughter, Jessica Leah Sanders, a brother, W. C. Clark; a half-brother, Boyd Clark and by five half-sisters, Geneva Byrd, Patience Chapman, Nora Barfield, Ella Lunday and Ad Griggs.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Isgett Clark of the home; four daughters, Carrie Clark, Jeanette (Allen) Lee and Betty (Craig) Walker, all of Hartsville and Debra (William) Winburn of Patrick; one sister, Bonnie Jean Melton, a half-sister, Julia Chapman, both of Hartsville; and five grandchildren.

MARINE C. BACOTE
DUBLIN, Ga. — Funeral services for Marine C. “Kate” Bacote, 97, were held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Washington Street Presbyterian Church in Dublin, Ga. Local arrangements were handled by Hines Funeral Home Inc.

Mrs. Bacote, widow of Lucious T. Bacote and former resident of Hartsville, died on Saturday, Aug. 6. While in Hartsville, she was a “Meals on Wheels” volunteer and also volunteered at the Hartsville Museum. Mrs. Bacote was a member of Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church.

RICHARD J. ALDRICH JR.
McBEE — Richard J. Aldrich Jr., 79, of Norwalk, Conn., formerly of McBee, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, after an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.

IRENE GLEN
Irene Glen, 70, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at McLeod Regional Medical center after an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Young & Young Funeral Home.

ROSA M. ATKINSON
Services for Rosa Mae Atkinson, 66, were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hartsville. Burial followed in the church cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville Chapel. The Revs. Alvin Rogers and James McDougald officiated.

Mrs. Atkinson, who died Aug. 13, was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Earl and Christine Weaver Kelly.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Atkinson of Sumter and Gerald Atkinson of Columbia; a daughter, Gloria Atkinson of Sumter; one grandchild; two sisters, Ella Morrison of Dalton, Ga., and Mary McDougald of Hartsville.
