Alice Danielsen Kinard

Alice Danielsen Kinard, age 79, and widow of Hubert Vernon Kinard, went to meet her Savior on January 3, 2010. Alice was born in Newberry to the late John T. Danielsen, Sr. and the late Mary Enlow Danielsen on June 16, 1930.
An honor graduate of Newberry High School, Mrs. Kinard was a summa cum laude graduate of Newberry College. She received both and MA and a MEd degree from Winthrop University. She has been listed in Who’s Who Among American Women and Who’s Who Among American Educators. Mrs. Kinard taught at Newberry Middle School and Newberry High School. From time to time, she also taught at Newberry College, Piedmont Technical College, and as a substitute in Newberry County.
Early in life, Alice dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. She served Him in the three areas of her life that brought her much love, joy and happiness; her churches, her family, and her students.
She is survived by her two sons, Daniel H. Kinard of Lexington and John L. (Zeolean Frick) Kinard of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Chris Kinard, Mary Elizabeth Kinard, Hunter Kinard, Vernon Kinard, Abby Kinard, and Gretchen Kinard; and a large number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, J.T, Jr. and Heyward Danielsen, and three sisters, Christina Danielsen, Louise D. Senn, and Blanche D. Kalloff.
Funeral services will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Caldwell Day and the Reverend Floyd Sides will conduct the service. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 9:30 to 10:30 AM, prior to the service, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
Pallbearers will be Chris Kinard, Vernon Kinard, Alan Paysinger, Norris Long, P.K. Fuller, Mike Hipp, Clarence Shealy, Jr., Bill Floyd, Sam Baird, and Bill Harvey.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fesperman Sunday School Class of Redeemer and Women of the ELCA Circles.

LANCASTER — Services for Mildred Gay Snipes, 87, widow of Jeff Snipes, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park. Visitation 6-8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home. Born in Lancaster Co. to John and Sally Hendrix Gay, she died Jan. 1, 2005. Surviving are children, Donnie, J. Frank, Ben Snipes, Gloria Neal, Dianne Moreno; three siblings; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

EFFINGHAM — Services for Andrew Lovel Canady, 63, owner of Andy’s Prints, are 2 p.m. Tuesday (visitation 7-9 tonight) at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home with entombment in Mausoleum at Florence Memorial Gardens. Born in Brunswick Co., N.C. to Clayton and Louella Bethea Canady, he died Jan. 1, 2005. Surviving are wife, Pearleen Green Canady; three sons; two brothers; one sister; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Frances Fisher
COLUMBIA — Graveside service for Frances Young Fisher, 96, will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 7-9 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Mrs. Fisher died Sunday, January 02, 2005. Born in Cheyenne, Okla., she was a daughter of the late Clyde Young and Della Iona Hopkins Young. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and the University of Virginia, she held supervisory positions in public education and welfare.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Charles F. and Deborah Warrington of Columbia; sister, Vashti Allen of Bartelsville, Okla.; brother, Clyde Young of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Carol Locklear and Robert Warrington, both of Columbia, Charlie Warrington of Camden, Clyde Warrington of Monroe, N.C. and Keith Warrington of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Joey Locklear, Jr., Adam Locklear, Robert Warrington, Jr., Christen Warrington, Morgan Warrington, Hanna Warrington and C.J. Warrington; and great-great-grandchild, Hunter Locklear.

William Todd III
CHARLESTON — William Barr Todd, III, age 70, of Charleston, SC, husband of Helen (Re) Detwiler Todd, died Sunday, January 2, 2005. He was born May 3, 1934, in Anderson, SC, son of the late Elizabeth Buchanan Todd Dehon and William Barr Todd, Jr.
A graduate of USC and the USC School of Law, Bill was a Lieutenant (JAG) in the United States Air Force and was the first law clerk to serve under the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of SC. He retired in 1991 after many years of service as In-House Counsel for the Charleston County School District.
Bill was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at USC, and a long time member of The Gamecock Club. He was an avid bridge player and past president of The Rascals golf group. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served on the Pastor Parish Committee.
Survivors include his wife, his brother and sister-in-law, George and Margaret Todd of Columbia, SC, a sister, Andrella Todd Brunson of Columbia, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was also the guardian of Kerry, Lynn and Harold Barley.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005, 12:00 noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, 273 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 2 o’clock in Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
